Chapter Fourteen Part One

Renesmee’s P.O.V Arriving at the cottage, Sophia and I prepped for the party. Sophia showered first. I laid out my black lace dress. Then, I chose a sky-blue dress with pleats for Sophia. The dress featured an open back and a bling belt. I placed the dress next to mine and got shoes. When I heard Sophia turning off the faucet, I knew she had finished. She emerged in a towel, puzzled by the dress. I gestured to the sky-blue dress and her. “You’re wearing this, and I have accessories,” I explained. Sophia nodded and went to the drawer while I used the bathroom. I closed the door, removed my clothes, turned on the water, and hopped in. Then I got under the water and rested my shoulder muscles. I got the shampoo, applied it to my hand, and massaged it into my hair. I washed it and used the conditioner. Then, I covered myself with soap and washed it off. I finished, took the water off, and left. I got a towel from the counter to dry myself. I wrapped it around me and left the bathroom to meet Sophia. She looked stunning in the dress, paired with the silver earrings and necklace I gave her. “You look nice. I’m glad I chose that dress for you.” I said. “Thanks, Mom, but don’t you think the dress is too fancy?” Sophia asked. “No, you look fine.” “Okay, well, I’m going to do my makeup and hair now.” “Okay.” Sophia returned to the bathroom, and I went to my drawer and let my towel drop. I picked out a black lace bra and underwear, put them on, and headed over to my dress on the bed. I wore the dress and checked myself in the mirror to fix the tightness. When I finished, I checked myself out and remembered how good this dress looked. Then I saw that the dress fit my curves and body. I smirked, picturing Jacob getting protective if he caught anyone checking me out. I heard footsteps and looked at Sophia, all set to bounce. Like mine, she parted her hair down the middle. “Wow, like I said, you look beautiful,” I said. “Thanks again, mom. Do you want me to help you with your hair?” Sophia asked. “Sure.” We headed into the bathroom, and I stood in front of the mirror, and Sophia stood behind me. “What’s your plan for your hair? I can’t do yours like mine since your hair is a little thinner. By the way, you need to get your hair color done.” Sophia said. “Thank you, you’re so nice,” I said, rolling my eyes. “It’s true. When did you last get your hair done?” “Hum, before we moved to Alaska.” “So, like three years ago.” I nodded. “Wow, no wonder your hair is so long,” Sophia said. I looked down at my hair and realized how long it was. It was down past my breast to my stomach. “Also, you have awful roots. Whose idea was it to get golden highlights in your hair?” Sophia asked. “Mine,” I responded. “Well, it looks bad now.” I looked at the top of my hair and saw the roots. “It’s not that bad,” I said. “Yes, they are. And next week, I’m getting your friends and me to take you to a hair salon to get your hair done,” Sophia said. “And also a haircut.” “Okay, but why cut the hair?” I said. “To appear more womanly, opt for a shorter look, not a teenage one.” “But Jacob likes my hair long.” “Fine, but trim it or something.” “Okay.” “Great! With the hair, I’ll curl it all. I’ll move it aside and pin a lot of it back.” “Okay.” Sophia did my hair, and ten minutes later, I looked in the mirror and admired how well she did it. “Wow, you did amazing. You know you could be a hairstylist,” I said. “Maybe someday,” Sophia said. I’m returning to the bedroom to put on my shoes.” “Okay.” When Sophia left the bedroom, I slapped on some mascara and eyeliner. I decided to amp up my eyes by applying black eye shadow and adding a hint of blush and clear lip gloss. When done, I walked out of the bathroom, put on my shoes, and saw Sophia texting. “Who are you texting?” I asked. “Seth. He mentioned picking me up.” Sophia responded. “Oh, but why don’t you meet him there since we’re going together, anyway?” “Okay,” Sophia texted him as I finished putting my shoes and earrings on and grabbed my phone. We left my bedroom, exited the front door, and went to the main house. Upon our arrival at the main house, we saw some people from our school walking in. We headed inside and headed upstairs, and when we got upstairs, I heard music blasting. I headed to the kitchen to see aunt Alice, uncle Jasper, aunt Rosalie, uncle Emmett, and my parents. But I didn’t see my grandparents. I asked, “Where are grandma and grandpa?” They all turned to me as they finished setting up all the food. Mom and Dad looked surprised at my appearance. “They are hunting, so we must prepare for the approaching vampires,” Uncle Emmett warned. I nodded and observed my parents, who were still evaluating my appearance. I looked at my parents with curiosity. “What?” I asked. “Wow, Renesmee. Where did you get that dress? It’s...” Mom said. “I know, Mom, it’s a lot, but Chloe and Sophia picked it out, and it looks great on me.” “Yeah, same,” Sophia said. “You could have chosen something more suitable,” Mom said. Aunt Alice walked over to me and put an arm on my shoulder. “She looks nice, and I like the dress too,” Aunt Alice said. Of course, aunt Alice does. She would like anything this fashionable. “Same,” Aunt Rosalie said. “Just wait till the boys see her in that dress,” Uncle Emmett blurted out. I shook my head and looked at Dad, who still said nothing. He kept staring at me. I looked at my dad with curiosity. “Dad, what do you think?” I asked. Dad’s eyes widened. “It’s, uh... something,” he responded. I laughed at dad’s reaction. After laughing, I saw people from school approaching. “So we had better get this part,” I said. Sophia and I ditched the kitchen and headed to the living room, where the dance floor was lit. When I got there, I saw Leah dancing with some folks, and Chloe, Isaac, and Henry were also dancing. Seth saw us, went over to Sophia, and hugged her. “Hey gorgeous, hi Renesmee,” Seth said. “Hey,” Sophia said. “Hi,” I said as I looked for Jacob. Seth kissed Sophia on the head, and she giggled. “Seth, is Jacob on his way?” I asked. “Yeah, soon. Jacob got a little busy,” Seth responded. I nodded. “Well, I’m going to steal her away,” Seth said. I nodded, and Seth took Sophia’s hand and dragged her to the dance floor. I went up to my friends, and Chloe stopped dancing when she spotted me. “Wow, you look great,” Chloe said. “Thanks,” I said. “And your hair. Who did it?” “Sophia.” Chloe gave me a wide-eyed expression. “I know I’m shocked, too,” I said. Isaac and Henry glanced at me. They checked me out, and Chloe caught them staring. She smacked Henry on the back of his head. “Ow,” Henry yelled, rubbing his arm. “What was that for?” “No staring. The only one you could stare at is me,” Chloe responded. Henry wrapped his arm around Chloe, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. “No need to fret, babe. You’re all mine,” he reassured her. I chuckled. They were so cute. Isaac looked at me, surprised, scanning me from head to toe. “Eyes up here, Isaac,” I said. Isaac pulled out of his trance, shaking his head, and looked me in the eye. “Wow, Renesmee. You look...” he said. I flipped my hair back and spoke in a sassy tone. “I know I look amazing,” I said. Issac laughed. “Do you want to dance? You know, as friends,” Isaac said. “Sure, why not,” I said. Isaac smiled, grabbed my hand, and led me to the dance floor. Then, this slow song by Ed Sheeran called Thinking Out Loud started playing, and I felt awkward. Unsure of my next move, I glanced at Isaac. He extended his hand like a prince, and I couldn’t help but laugh. He pulled me in, and I wrapped my arms around his neck while he put his hands on my waist. We were swaying along with the music. While dancing, we said nothing until Isaac turned his head and whispered in my ear. “This is nice,” he said. I laughed and nodded. It’s been ages since Isaac and I had a great time since our break. It was nice, though. Even though I’m with Jacob now, being this close to him feels weird but unique. As the music hit that high note, Isaac pulled me away, grabbed my hand, and spun me around. I couldn’t help but laugh. He laughed and took me in for another hug. We couldn’t stop swaying and grooving to the song. Then I rested my head on his shoulder, and when the song ended, we moved apart. We locked eyes, creating a special moment. Our faces were super close. His face moved closer to mine, and I sighed, moving away. I’m with Jacob, and we’re engaged. “I... I’m going to go get something to drink.” I said. Isaac dropped his hands on my waist and spoke. “Okay,” I bolted from the dance floor. People turned their heads, and Henry and Chloe gave a curious expression. I headed to the kitchen, took a deep breath, and leaned against the counter. What happened? I still can’t have feelings for Isaac again. I’m in love with Jacob, who is my one true love. I exhaled and went to grab some punch. Grandma and grandpa entered through the doors, but he went a different way. When she spotted me, grandma came over to me. I took a sip of my drink while she stood next to me. “Hey, Renesmee. Are you okay? You look miserable.” Grandma said. I chugged my drink down and placed it on the counter. “I’m good, I guess,” I said. Grandma looked surprised that I chugged that drink down so fast. She looked at me with curiosity. “What happened?” she asked. “It’s nothing,” I responded. “Something must have happened because you drink like you’re stressed about something.” I sighed and leaned against the counter. “Well...how can I say this? I still have feelings for Isaac,” I responded. Grandma looked at me, surprised. “I know. I don’t know what to do,” I said. “Well, figure out those feelings because you’re marrying Jacob soon,” Grandma said. “I know. I have to stay away from Issac.” Grandma nodded. “Do what’s best for you,” she said. “Okay, thanks,” I said. Grandma hugged me and left. I grabbed another cup of punch and sipped it, then left the kitchen with my drink. Walking down the hall, I spotted Mason coming around the corner. He looked at me and grinned. I smiled and went over to him. When he laid eyes on me, he looked me up and down. “Wow, you look good,” Mason said. “Thanks, and I’m glad you came. What do you think of the party?” I asked. “It looks great. Alice did well planning this.” “She always does.” I rolled my eyes, and Mason laughed. “So...” I said. “Do you want to dance?” Mason asked. “Hum. I’m looking for my other friends. Later.” “Okay.” Mason walked away and approached the two chatting girls. I walked down the hall and saw Hannah and Courtney dancing. I smiled and went over to them. “Hey,” I said. “Hi!” they both said. They both hugged me. “Alice did well. The party is dominant,” Courtney said. “Yep, that’s her for you,” I said. Courtney chuckled. “So, where is everyone? There’s so many people here,” Hannah said. “They are in the living room. Come on, I’ll show you.” I said. They followed me, and we went to the living room. When we arrived, we went straight to the dance floor where Chloe was. “Hey, Chloe,” I said. Chloe turned around and saw Hannah, Courtney, and me. She hugged us. “Hey, guys,” Chloe said. “Hi.” Courtney and Hannah said. “So you wanna dance?” Chloe asked. “Of course,” they both said. They squealed when Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon played. “I love this song!” Chloe yelled. They moved to the dance floor’s center and looked at me. “Are you coming?” Chloe asked. I put my drink down and went to the dance floor. We danced to the beat and moved our hips as we sang the song. We kept dancing to more songs until we got tired. When Chloe gets tired, she finds Henry and grabs a drink. I glanced at Courtney, who was still dancing with Hannah. I approached them and started dancing to Year and Years by King. We moved our hips and jumped up and down. I could feel the alcohol kicking in and messing with my head as we danced to the song. I didn’t even realize three guys approached us and started dancing. While the music slowed, I danced with a guy, moving along his legs while maintaining eye contact. He was cute, with spiky black hair and bright blue eyes. He grabbed my hips, and we danced together. I stopped and held my breath when I finished the song. He looked me in the eye, and his expression showed shock upon realizing who he was dancing with. “You’re Renesmee Cullen, right?” The guy asked. “Yeah.” “Aren’t you engaged?” “Yep.” “Wow, I’m so sorry. Your man might kill me for touching you.” “So, he’s not here.” “Yeah, but still.” The next song, Can’t Feel My Face by The Weekend, comes back on. “I love this song,” I said. “Same.” The guy and my friends next to me said. We were dancing and singing. I danced with them throughout the song without contacting the guy, then faced him when it ended. I announced my intention of getting a drink. He nodded, and I walked away. I made my way to the kitchen again and downed the punch. Next, I had one more drink, became light-headed, and sat down. Why am I getting drunk? I’m a vampire. Getting drunk takes me a while, but this time it happened. Someone spiked the punch. I grabbed a water bottle and took a sip. Mason came into view and noticed my mental state. “Woe Renesmee, are you alright?” Mason asked. “Yeah, someone spiked this punch next to me,” I responded. “I see. So, can I get that dance now?” “Sure.” Taking my hand, we left for the kitchen and headed to the dance floor. We stopped in the middle of the dance floor where Courtney and Hannah were. I grabbed his hands and placed them on my waist. Then, we danced to the song When You Were Mine by Philip George. I swayed my hips on him. Throughout the song, we danced, and then I moved to the guy I danced with before. Mason started dancing with Courtney, and I observed them. They gazed into each other’s eyes, and I grinned. I started dancing with the guy until the song ended. After the song, I got some fresh air leaving the dance floor. I grabbed my water again and headed out onto the porch. When I stepped outside, I saw Quil and Embry. They were walking towards the house with Jacob trailing behind them. I smiled as they arrived. To be continued….
