Chapter 11

1026 Words
Arielle doesn't know how to contact Gun. He didn't leave his calling card or any contact number where he could contact him. Besides, it's unlikely for a driver like him to have a calling card. She wants to call Mrs. Chua and ask for her friend's address, who is Gun's boss, but her shyness holds her back. She was hesitant to ask Mrs. Chua about Gun because she was afraid she might misunderstand her intentions. She was also embarrassed to ask her because she plans to poach Gun to work for her. Since she doesn't know what to do, she decides to just leave the house and go shopping to relieve the stress she's feeling. While on the road, she unintentionally glanced behind her car. She saw a red car that had been following her for a while. If she wasn't mistaken, the red car started tailing her as soon as she exited her car from the main highway. Or maybe it was just a coincidence. But coincidence or not, she must be careful. She doesn't want to die in her second life without getting justice for her parents' death and herself too. She couldn't help but suddenly feel nervous. Tyron and Claire might have hired people to kill her. In fear, she suddenly stepped on the gas pedal to speed up her car. However, because her full attention was focused on what was behind her, she didn't notice that the car in front of her had stopped because pedestrians were crossing. She screamed when she heard the loud sound of her front bumper colliding with the rear side of the car in front of her. She silently cursed when she saw the huge damage made to the car which seemed to be new. She bit her lips as she stepped out of the car to apologize to the driver of the bumped vehicle. However, her anxiety lessened when she saw the driver who got out of the car and inspected the damage. "Gun! It's you!" she exclaimed as she approached him. Whether by coincidence or destiny, it happened that out of all the cars she could collide with, it was Gun's car that she had an accident with. But she no longer cared about it. Fate had brought him before her, and she didn't need to stress about how to approach him because destiny had presented him to her. "Arielle?" he uttered with a furrowed brow at her name. "I'm glad to meet you again, Gun. Actually, I want to talk to you. I have important things to say to you. I want to hire you as my driver-bodyguard. Will you agree?" She didn't hesitate and immediately stated her intention for him to work for her. "What? Bodyguard? Why do you want a—" "Aren't you finished talking to the person who bumped into the car? We're going to be late for our destination," a sharp interruption from a woman peeking from the open door. She didn't know if the woman was Gun's boss or girlfriend, but judging by the way she looked at her, she could say that there was a relationship between them. She could see jealousy and possessiveness on the woman's face while looking at her. She suddenly felt discouraged. It seems she won't be able to get Gun to be her bodyguard. Whether she was his boss' daughter or the woman herself was his boss, certainly, the woman wouldn't allow Gun to leave his position as her driver. Especially if that woman is his girlfriend. It's certain that his girlfriend will never agree to work for her. She glanced awkwardly at Gun. "Uhm. Just don't mind what I said earlier," she quickly retracted her offer earlier. "I'm sorry if I bumped into the car you were driving, Gun." She returned to her car and took a calling card from inside her bag, then handed it to the Gun. "Here. You can send me the amount for the repair of the car's damage. And I'm sorry again." She quickly turned away from Gun and walked back to her car. "Wait, Arielle!" Gun stopped her. She halted exactly and looked back at the man when the woman who spoke earlier emerged. She realized that the woman was very sexy. Her skin is so white and smooth. She looks like a celebrity. She suddenly feels embarrassed about her own fair and smooth skin, although it's not as fair and smooth as the woman with Gun. "Hurry up, Gun! If I'm late, Daddy will surely get mad at me," the woman said to Gun with a frown, then glared at her. "Maybe that woman deliberately hit the car just to get your attention." She secretly clenched her fist upon hearing what the woman said. But because it was her fault for hitting Gun's car, which turned out to be owned by the woman, instead of arguing with her, she just continued walking towards her car. She got inside her car but didn't immediately drive away. She just watched Gun while talking to the woman. She saw the woman's angry face, and she thought she was angry at her because she was pointing to her car. After a while, the woman stopped and got into the car. Gun, on the other hand, faced her car, and she saw the concern on his face. She didn't know what the concern on his face was for. Was he worried that the woman would be angry with him because of her? What is their real relationship? She took a deep sigh before starting the engine and drove her car away. She felt a sense of regret that there might be something between Gun and that beautiful woman. "What are you thinking, Arielle? Why would you feel regret if they were in a relationship? What do you care about them? You need a bodyguard, not a boyfriend, right?" She sounded crazy talking to herself while driving her car. She just prayed silently, hoping that she was just mistaken about what she thought earlier. That she wasn't really being followed by the red car she saw earlier behind her car.
