Arielle woke up a bit late that day. The sun was already high when she got up from bed. She quickly took a shower and then went out to go down to the kitchen and see what food Emma was cooking. She was feeling a bit hungry because she didn't eat much last night.
Her disappointment and regret for not getting Gun as her driver-bodyguard still linger until now. She didn't want to hire someone else especially since she didn't know them yet. She didn't trust anyone she might get to protect her. They might just be blinded by the money if Claire and Tyron offer them a large amount, and instead of protecting her, they might be the ones to kill her.
Although she didn't know Gun very well, she had a strong feeling that he could protect her from danger. She also had a strong feeling that Tyron couldn't bribe him, especially since their encounter didn't go well.
She smiled when she smelled the delicious aroma of garlic frying in oil that Emma was cooking while walking down the stairs. Her smile widened at the thought that Emma was cooking her favorite breakfast. Emma knew that her favorite breakfast was garlic fried rice with lots of garlic on it, paired with an egg with egg yolk in the middle and some young pork tocino. This made her even hungrier because of the delicious smell of food she had just smelled.
She walked to the kitchen with a smile on her face. "The smell of what you're cooking is so good, Emma—" The sweet smile suddenly vanished from her lips when she saw that it wasn't Emma cooking in the kitchen but Tyron. He was wearing a white apron folded up to his elbows, with a white long-sleeve shirt underneath. He looks handsome and manly in that apron and any woman would like his looks right now but in her eyes, he was just ordinary. He does not affect her anymore.
"Good morning, Love. Did I surprise you? I cooked your favorite breakfast" Tryon greeted her with a smile as he faced her. She couldn't avoid his kiss on her cheek, so she just endured the unpleasant feeling when his lips touched her cheek.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you mad at me? Why did you cook breakfast for me now?" She wonders if he mixed poison in her food that's why he cooks for her.
Tyron first served the cooked garlic rice and brought it to the dining table where the egg and the young pork tocino, both already cooked, were placed. He approached her with a smile, held her by both arms and guided her to sit in front of the table.
"This is my peace offering, Love. I'm sorry about that day. I was just not in the mood when I received that news, and I felt insulted because you entrusted something important to someone else instead of me, your boyfriend, and your future husband. But after I left your house, I realized my mistake. I shouldn't have been angry with you; I had no right to do that. It's your business, so it's your decision on whom you want to entrust the management of your business," Tyron explained at length. She secretly smirked at him. He thinks she didn't know that he went to see Claire after he left her house that day and together they planned on how to kill her.
If only she knew that he had ill intentions towards her, she would have believed that he genuinely regretted his actions that day. He seemed sincere in his speech, perhaps that's why he easily deceived her before because he was skilled at acting and portraying a genuine attitude. He was very good at acting.
"Good thing you know that," she pretended to reply.
"Of course, Love. You know I've always admitted it and immediately apologized to you whenever I made a mistake even before."
Yes. Tyron was right. Whenever he makes a mistake or when they argue, he admits his mistake and immediately asks for her forgiveness. Even if she's the one at fault, he still humbles himself and asks for her forgiveness. That's why she loves him so much because of the kindness he shows her. She never thought that his kindness and understanding attitude were a part of his plan to make her fall for him deeper.
Tyron used to cook breakfast for her often, so she loved him even more. She had no idea she was just being used by him. He showed kindness to her so she would love him more and so she could not refuse when he asked her to marry him. And it happened. Without hesitation, she accepted his wedding proposal and they got married just a few months later. Then her doom started the day she accepted his marriage proposal.
"Don't you have an appointment today? Maybe you have somewhere else to go. It's okay with me even if you leave now," she said, shooing Tyron away. She was worried that the food he cooked might be poisoned. "By the way, where are Emma and Laura? I don't hear anyone moving inside my house except for me and you."
"Don't worry about them because I let them have a day off today. I'll be your maid for the day. You can ask me to do anything that you want," Tyron answered with a smile as he took off his apron and placed it on the nearby chair. "You wouldn't be mad at me for what I did, right?"
She didn't let him notice that she felt nervous when she found out that there were only two of them at her house that day. Tyron seemed to have something bad planned for her because she was sure he intentionally sent her two maids away from her house today.
"Of course not! It's okay with me that you let them have a day off," she answered with a forced smile, then shifted her gaze to the fork in front of him. When Tyron does something wrong to her, she wouldn't hesitate to stab him using that fork. "I know you're super busy, but you made an effort to cook breakfast for me, and I really appreciate it. But I don't want to be a hindrance to your important tasks, so you can leave me now."
"Don't you want me here in your house, Arielle? I've noticed that you've been wanting me to leave quickly. Is there something wrong with me that's why you want me to leave right now?" Tyron's face suddenly darkened, giving her a suspicious look. She became alarmed, fearing that he might notice her growing wariness of him.
"You know that it's not what I mean, Tyron. We both know that you're always busy, and you've known for a long time that I don't want to be the reason for your important appointments to be disrupted." She let out a secret sigh after finding a convenient excuse.
Tyron's dark expression suddenly disappeared, and a sweet smile returned to his lips.
"Okay. I will leave now, but before I go, I want to see you eating the foods that I cooked for you." Tyron scooped some fried rice onto her plate. She also gave her a fried egg and three pieces of tocino meat.
She stared at the food Tyron placed on her plate. She wondered which of the foods in front of her was poisoned.
"You don't have to wait for me to eat before you leave. I will eat—"
"Why do I feel like you don't want to eat the food I cooked for you, Arielle? Are you thinking it's poisoned? Do you think I'd poison you, that's why I'm forcing you to eat it. My God, Arielle! I am just concerned about you!" he angrily interrupted her words. He took a spoonful of fried rice and ate it along with the egg and tocino. "See? I didn't get poisoned, so there's no poison in the food I prepared for you."
She cursed silently in her mind. Tyron was really good at acting and he should be applauded for the excellent acting. She just took a deep sigh before she started to eat the food he prepared for her. It probably wasn't poisonous because he tasted it and his mouth didn't foam. So she thinks it was safe.
"Are you happy now? I already ate the food you cooked so you won't think that I'm thinking you want to poison me," I pretended to ask him in annoyance. But it wasn't pretend annoyance towards him, it was real.
"Not anymore," Tyron replied with a grin when he saw what she did.
She felt herself if she would experience something unusual in her body. Only after making sure that there was no poison in the food did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Tyron walked towards the refrigerator with a smile and poured a glass of fresh milk. Her eyes almost widened when she saw that the milk he bought for her which had poison on it was the one he got to give her.
