Chapter 12: Dances

ELIZABETHS POV

It had been days. The school was regular, and of course, Ashley was still a b***h. Everything was normal, except that Jacob was only getting worse. I could feel my brother fade more and more from existence. I also spent time with Ray and talked to ace more about my dreams. Days went on, and Friday came.

I was walking through the halls during my free period with Sarah by me. We had planned to see the boys at the gym. I was happy to see them, but I couldn't get the thought of Jacob and how bad he was getting off my mind.

Sarah: "the dance is tomorrow, Elizabeth. Can you believe it"

Me: "um, yea. I'm so excited. "

Sarah: "still thinking about Jacob and his state?"

Me: "is it that obvious."

Sarah: "to the guys, me, and your family, yes. You paid no attention when I said I was pregnant."

Me: "wait, what?!"

Sarah: "it was a joke to see if you were listening."

Me: "I'm sorry, Sarah, It's just I feel my brother slipping away, and it hurts, but it makes me feel so numb simultaneously."

Sarah looked at me with sadness. I had come to School in a hoodie and skinny jeans that weren't my everyday outfits. She sighed, then smiled and hugged me.

Sarah: "look, Tonight is one of our nights. We own it. This means we can do your makeup and make you look gorgeous. All guys will have their eyes on you. You'll be beautiful."

Me: "I don't want their attention though, especially not Alesters, including if it means his b***h ass hoe of a fiance is going to try to fight me again. NO."

Sarah: "show her who owns the school, then."

Me: "me?"

Sarah: "Yes, your dad owns and runs this school."

I smiled, looking at Sarah. She was bitchy and persistent enough to aggravate and give that Queen bee vibe, but she used it correctly. She also knew how to cheer me up.

Once Sarah and I got to the gym, the guys were finishing up. I smiled as my eyes landed on my mates. Zeke ran over and hugged me with Justine and Mark right behind him.

Zeke: "how are you feeling, beautiful."

Me: "I'm ok, I think."

Mark: "still worried about your brother."

Me: "yea, I am. He hasn't improved at all."

Justin: "Really?!"

Me: "really"

I quickly changed the subject. The first game was coming up, and the guys all made it through tryouts and got picked, but so did alester. Sarah and I tried out for cheerleading and got it. I'm the Captain while Sarah is the captain, and sadly, Ashley also got in. I was so not ready to spend time with her after School. I smiled, talking with the guys, and we started to leave, head out for the day, and go home. I smiled and grabbed my stuff, then headed out to the halls. I and Sarah sat there waiting for the guys to come out. I smiled and listened to Sarah talk about Max more and more.

I laughed as she talked, then looked as she went pretty. I looked up in the direction she was looking. When I looked up, I came eye to eye with Alesters.

Alester: "long time no see."

Me: "yup"

Sarah: "how are you, Alester."

Alester: "I'm fine, thank you. How are you."

Sarah: "I'm good. We're good."

Alester: "Are you sure, Elizabeth? You look... not fully here."

Me: "I'm good."

I looked up and faked a sweet smile. Alester nodded, looking at me. I didn't want him to see the pain I was going he had already hurt me, and I wasn't going to let his fiance get the satisfaction of knowing I was hurting. Sarah and I looked and smiled as the guys came out to us. I smiled, looking at the triplets as Sarah ran over to Max. Alester looked at the guys and froze slightly.

Justin: "Alester"

Alester: "boys"

Zeke: "long time no see. How's your girl."

I looked as I heard venom run through Zeke's voice. Justin had placed his arm over my shoulder protectively as mark kissed my cheek. Alester looked at me, and I saw his eyes flash red, then back to their standard vibrant orange color.

Alester: "she's fine. She's been dragging me around stores searching for a dress to the dance."

Mark: "having fun."

Alester: "I can't complain."

Justin: "well, it was nice seeing you, AL, but we gotta go help Liza with her dress. Pick it out."

Alesters: "you haven't chosen a dress Elizabeth."

Me: "no. I've been too busy with other things. School work, you know?"

I laughed nervously, then looked as Sarah took me from the guy Linkin, my arm with hers.

Sarah: "I am helping Eliza with her dress yall will go home and get ready for Tonight. Don't forget the limo."

Max: "don't kill her."

Sarah: "I would never."

Justin: "take care of her, please."

Me: "I'll be fine with Sarah."

I smiled and then kissed the guys on the cheek before leaving School with Sarah. I told mom we would be getting ready at Sarah's house and then come home to check up on Jacob.

ALESTER POV

I looked as Elizabeth and Sarah left. I knew she was hurting, but I just didn't know why. I sighed and then looked at the guys. I know they weren't happy with me, but I had to act like she was nothing special. And, of course, Alfred and Coal are still pissed at me.

Zeke: "her brother dies it's on you."

Me: "wait, what?"

Mark: "Jacob hasn't healed. If anything, he keeps getting worse than before."

Me: "he should be held from the damage I caused."

Justin: "but he's not your dumb ass and if I find out your Lil demon is why... I will kill both of you."

I looked as Justin stared me down, his eyes turning orange. Mark put a hand on Justin's shoulder and then nodded behind me. I looked and saw Ashley. Justin let out a low growl, then closed his eyes, looking away. Ashley walked over, smiling happily.

Ashley: "hi, boys, wheres your Lil toy."

Zeke: "not telling you."

Mark: "come on, we have to get ready, you guys."

Justin: "yea, later Alester."

Zeke: "bye"

I looked at the guy's left, and mark nodded, leaving me with Ashley. They were f*****g pissed, and Mark is never pissed. He's always bubbly.

Me: "why did you say that? You know,, call her a toy"

Ashley: "because she is it's not like it matters."

Me: "just please be careful of what you say, baby."

Ashley: "let's get home."

Me: "um yea."

I had this weird feeling all of a sudden, and I felt like Ashley had something to do with Jacob's condition.

FOUR HOURS LATER, ALESTER POV

I was dressed for tonight's dance in a fancy white suit that I bought last week when I went shopping with Ashley for the dance. She wanted to go all out, so she brought a long white silk dress with a long slit that went up her thigh, and the top hugged her chest showing cleavage. It reminded me of the dress Jessica rabbit wore. I stared at her as she did her makeup in my bathroom. My mind suddenly went to what the guys said about Jacob.

Ashley: "what's wrong, love? You seem concerned."

Me: "baby, did you do something to Jacob that I should know about."

Ashley: "let's just say he won't last much longer."

Me: "Ashley, what the f**k did you do."

Ashley: "I'm just showing the b***h not to mess with me. After all, she started it."

Me: "Ashley, this will cause so much trouble for my pack. This can cause a war. You have to fix this.

Ashley: "I wish I could, but I can't. It's done. Besides, I only weakened him. You did the damage."

I looked at Ashley, then got up and punched a hole in my wall. I couldn't believe this. My mate was going to have a whole other reason to hate me. I loved Elizabeth, but I couldn't get out of this marriage. I have to tell her. I heard Alfred and Coal in my head after a very long time.

Alfred: "you should have tried breaking the contract, you dumb ass."

Coal: "she's going to hate us forever. I found my mate... our mate, and you turn around and f**k it all up."

Me: "you think I knew this butch was gonna do this."

Alfred: "it was just money. We could have figured something out, but now you went through with it."

Coal: "fix this, Alester. We all know what she'll do."

Me: "How am I going to do that? She could kill Jacob at any minute and second even."

Alfred: "figure it out, you dumb ass. You didn't listen to us so. Fix. It."

I looked as my mind went entirely. I looked at Ashley, and she put her hand on my cheek. I held back a growl, and I wasn't happy. She wasn't Elizabeth. My beautiful doll face Elizabeth. I let go of the wall, pulled my hand out, and motioned to the door.

ELIZABETHS POV

I smiled, looking at Sarah. She had done my makeup and then temporarily dyed my hair with blue streaks. She also dyed some of my red lines. My hair had red, blue, and purple in it, and its natural night raven black. I smiled, looking at my hair.

I smiled, looking at my hair. I then looked at Sarah and smiled. She looked at me and smiled then her smile fell and she hugged me tight. I hadn't said anything since I got here.

Me: "thanks, Sarah."

Sarah: "of course" it looks fantastic on you. Now let's get dressed."

Me: "ok"

I walked over to the closet. Sara had got me a lovely puffy light blue dress that was a bit less the knee length, and it was off the shoulder. Sarah had a darker blue strapless dress. She grabbed a pair of light blue heels for me and a couple of silver ones for hers since her dress had silver beaded accents on the chest.

I smiled and put on my high curly ponytail with two side bangs to Fram my face. Sara smiled then hugged me tightly. She done her hair in half up and down with a bun with some curls hanging down and the bottom half tightly curled.

We smiled and went downstairs, thinking of what the guys might be wearing. Just as we reached the edge of the stairs, there was a knock at the front door. Sarah's brother Noah answered the door, and the guys walked in with Ray behind them. Ray hugged Noah, then looked at me and smiled. I smiled back, then nodded. Sure he was my brother, but I had known nothing about him.

I smiled as I looked at the guys. Zeke wore black slacks and a light blue shirt with a jacket. Mark wore a light blue suit with a white shirt, and Justin wore a black suit. Max was wearing a dark blue suit that matched Sarah's dress. smiled, then broke out laughing at the fact that he just was the only one wearing the suit. But also how hard they tried not to dress alike for the dance.

Zeke: "you ok, baby girl."

Me: "I'm fine it's just all of yall almost dressed the same, didn't you?"

Mark: "yea, we did."

Justine: "multiple times."

Zeke: "third time a charm, right?"

Me: "Justin is also the only one who wore a tie apparently."

Zeke: "we wore t.."

Zeke made a motion to fix his tie as he spoke, then stopped when he didn't feel one. Justin facepalmed when he looked at his brothers.

Zeke: "we forgot our ties."

Justin: "yall forgot your ties."

Mark: "you look, beautiful, angel."

Me: "thank you."

Max smiled, shaking his head as Justin and Zeke stared daggers at their brother. Max went over and kissed Sarah. I smiled, looking then Noah cleared his throat, and Ray laughed as max and Sarah pulled away from each other.

We all headed to the limo and got in—me and Ray. We talked on, and it was amazing how much we had in common. I guess it was a twin thing, though. I smiled and sat with the guys the rest of the ride, and we talked about the whole I'm a princess thing. I had made sure I stopped at home to check on Jacob.

ONE HOUR LATER

I smiled as we arrived at the dance. It was hosted in the giant gym we had reserved for dances and events.

I smiled as we walked in and looked around at the winter decorations and paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. I smiled at all the blue and white streamers. The stage was also set up. It reminded me of a winter wonderland. I smiled, looking at the backdrophanging back drop was the one I chose for a winter meadow. They had all the props set up to.

I smiled, hanging and chatting with the guys until they had to perform. I smiled and looked at the guys as they performed, singing Christmas songs and some upbeat music, and any suggestions people wanted.

I smiled as the guys started playing the intro to baby it's cold outside. Mark ran over and grabbed my hand.

Mark: "come sing the song."

Me: "no, Mark, I can't sing."

Justin: "we've heard you sing before, love so come sing with us."

I sighed, then smiled and let them lead me to the stage by the hand. I smiled as Zeke took my hand and then handed me a mic. I was so nervous. I smiled as the guys started playing baby it's cold outside by Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé.

Me: "I really can't start."

Mark: "baby, it's cold outside."

Me: "I gotta go away."

Justin: "baby, it's cold outside."

Me: "this evening been"

Zeke: "hopping that you drop in."

I smiled as I was singing with the guys and giggling. It was just so much fun. I was quite sad as we were coming to the end.

Me: "say, lend me your comb."

Zeke: "it's up to your knees out there."

Me: "you've been grand, but don't you see."

Mark: "I thrill when you touch my hand."

Justin: "how could you do this thing to me."

I smiled as I looked at the crowd and kept Singing with the guys. I smiled as we finished singing. I smiled as I heard claps, then looked at the guys and blushed as they looked at me, smiling and smirking.

Me: "what?"

Justin: "can't sing, huh?"

Zeke: "that was an amazing, baby girl."

Mark: "angelic even."

Me: "yall are exacting."

Zeke: "then let's ask the crowd shall we"

Mark: "yall cheer if you think the girl up here can sing."

I smiled and blushed as everyone cheered. I looked at Mark. He smiled at me then Justin looked at me.

Justin: "listen to them. You got pipes, and you sounded amazing."

Zeke: "perfect, even you were amazing."

Mark: "I told you."

Me: "ok fine, I can sing."

I smiled as I got off the stage Sarah ran over to me and smiled as Max looked at me in amazement. They kept talking about how well I sang. Once they were done complimenting me, I went to the snack bar and grabbed a cookie. I made sure to bring the snacks earlier today for the dance.

Alester approached me as I finished my cookie. I looked around for Ashley as he walked over. I stopped in front of me and then smiled. I could see the hurt in his eyes, though.

Alester: "um, you sounded amazing up there."

Me: "thanks"

Alester: "can we talk please."

Me: "shouldn't you be with your girlfriend? I don't feel like being attacked."

Alester: "please, it's important."

Me: "fine"

I left the gym, following Alester to the cheer lounge that was down the hall. I made sure to link Sarah and asked her to be close by in case and for someone to keep an eye on Ashley.

Me: "what, Alester"

Alester: "I'm sorry, honestly. I never wanted to hurt you, my love pl..."

Me: "don't call me that"

Alester: "I'm sorry."

Me: "sorry, I can't save my brother. Jacob is dying and not getting better."

Alester: "that's why we have to talk."

Me: "THEN SPEAK"

Alester: "Ashley weakened him so that If something happens, he wouldn't be or could be healed."

Me: "what?"

Alester: "I'm also in a marriage with her. Because my dad signed me away to marry her."

Me: "why didn't you break it off."

I looked at Alester. He looked at me and sighed as his eyes turned black, showing Coal was on the surface. His mind linked me as he pulled me closer.

Coal: "because his dad lost everything during the war and in the act of greed, he sighed Alester, all of us away for marriage to Ashley."

I looked as Alesters eyes turned their average orange. He ran his thumb over my cheek and then looked me in the eyes. I felt so many sparks. I tried pulling away, but I couldn't. I looked at him.

Alester: "I love you, Elizabeth, and only you. You are my mate, and I'm soo sorry for everything, Please forgive me."

Me: "I love you, but this hurts too much to see you act happy with her, then so cold to me—your mate.

Alester: "I had no choice."

Me: "You had every choice. You just didn't think."

I growled and tried pulling away from alester until I felt his lips crash onto mine. I froze in place as he kissed me deep and hungrily. I shortly gave in and started kissing him deeply and full of longing. I had missed him so much, yet I hated him.

I moaned softly and gasped as I felt him start kissing down my knock and then to my sweet spot. I sighed and then snapped out of my trance once I heard a voice in my head. I had felt Alesters fangs on my neck. I pushed him back and caught my breath. I went to the mirror and found a hickey jest below my chocker on my collar bone.

Alester came and hugged me from behind and nuzzled into my neck. He looked at me in the mirror then I looked away.

Me: "no, Alester. It's either me or her"

Alester: "I can't do that, Elizabeth."

Me: "why not? It's just land and money. You can get help with that."

Alester: "I'm already married to her. The ceremony is tomorrow for the show, but I married her the day before yesterday We,dnesday.

I looked at Alester as my heart broke. I pulled away from him, then shook my head. I was walking to the door. I stopped short just as grabbed the door knob.

Me: "just reject me if this is the path we are taking... please."

Alester: "Elizabeth.."

Me: "no, Alester knight, go back to your wife."

I left the room and then looked at Sarah. I hugged her tight, then she took me to the bathroom down the hall and redid my makeup.

My lip glass was a bit smudge. I was glad she put waterproof eyeliner and mascara on me. I broke out crying after she finished. I told her everything that I had found out. She hugged me tightly. It had been 30 minutes before I composed myself and stopped crying. I told her everything.
