Homecoming

Jasmine and Chelsea had used the girls' bathroom, and they changed for the dance. Patiently, they waited for their friends outside of the gymnasium. Jasmine had on a purple dress that scooped down the back. Her hair was up in pins, and red auburn curls hung from a bun in the back of her head and framed her face. Chelsea had on a cream-colored dress that had a black ruffle that fluffed out at the bottom. She had put her hair in a messy bun on top of her head. She always had a punk look to her. Happily, Jasmine smiled as she saw Joseph and the rest of the gang walk up to them. Joseph had on a black tuxedo with a purple tie that matched her dress. He smiled at her as he reached her. He slipped a purple flower corsage on her wrist and kissed her cheek. Joseph looked Jasmine up and down and smiled. "Wow, you look beautiful!" Joseph said in amazement, and Jasmine blushed. Damian walked up to Chelsea and kissed her. He had on a black tuxedo with a black tie. He slipped a cream-colored rose on Chelsea's wrist. She smiled and smelled the rose. "You look amazing!" said Damian, and Chelsea blushed. "Thank you. And might I say, you look ravishing," Chelsea said with a grin, and Damian looked away shyly. Kevin and Mandy walked up, hand in hand. Kevin had a black tuxedo on with a red tie. Mandy was wearing an elegant red dress that ruffled from her midriff to the floor-length skirt. There was a red and black corsage on Mandy's wrist. Kevin looked at Jasmine and smirked. "What?" she asked, as she looked at him oddly. "I have never seen you in a dress before," Kevin said, and he smiled. Jasmine shook her head and picked up the skirt of her dress, and curtsied to him. "Don't get used to it," Jasmine said, and she smirked at him. Kevin laughed, and he looked at the ground for a moment. "It's already a distant memory,” he said, as he looked up at her and grinned handsomely. Jasmine laughed and nodded. "Good,” she said, and then she looked at Joseph. "Shall we?" asked Joseph and held out his arm to Jasmine. Happily, Jasmine nodded and took his arm. They all walked into the gymnasium together. The gymnasium had turned out amazing. Balloons and streamers ran across the ceiling and down the doorways. There was a live band and a refreshment table. Gently, Joseph led Jasmine to the dance floor and twirled her around. "So, here we are,” he said, as he held Jasmine close. Jasmine smiled and nodded. "Yeah,” she said, as she looked away, blushing. Unexpectedly, Joseph cupped her face and turned her head toward him. She looked into his eyes, and before she could say anything, Joseph pressed his lips to hers. Suddenly, there was a rush of emotions and energy that rushed through their bodies. Jasmine held onto his arms and kissed him back. "Wow,” whispered Joseph, as he pulled his head back and looked at her with sparkling eyes. Jasmine giggled and laid her head on his shoulder. They stayed that way for a couple of songs and decided to take a break. Jasmine was waiting with Chelsea and Mandy for the boys to get back with drinks. They had found a table that was not occupied and took a seat. "Ow, I hate these shoes,” said Chelsea, as she slipped off her heeled shoes and rubbed her feet. Mandy laughed at her and Chelsea gave her an offended look. "What?" "Why didn't you just wear your sneakers?" asked Mandy, as she lifted her dress. She was wearing a pair of red and white comfortable sneakers. Chelsea looked up at Mandy and then she looked at Jasmine. "Mandy is right. Where are your sneakers?" asked Jasmine, as she, too, lifted her dress and reviewed a pair of black and purple sneakers. Chelsea looked down at Jasmine's sneakers and scowled. "I guess I was never given the memo,” she said, as she huffed a sigh, and Mandy and Jasmine giggled. While they were waiting, Jasmine looked around and saw Ryan sitting at a table with his hand wrapped in a cast. Suddenly, she felt bad for him, and she walked over to him. "Ryan, hi,” she said. He looked at her and rolled his eyes. "What do you want, weirdo?" He asked, and Jasmine sighed. She hated his attitude. "Look, I'm sorry you broke your hand. I'd like to try to make it up to you. Would you like to dance?" she asked, and Ryan looked at her for a moment. "I don't think so, freak!" he said, as he sneered at her. Jasmine felt as though she had given it a good try. She really didn't want to dance with him, she was only trying to be nice, but he was being absolutely impossible. She rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. "Eh, I tried!" She said, as she walked away. Jasmine saw Joseph waiting for her back at the table. He looked like he was jealous for a second, and then he smiled at her as she approached him. "What was that look for?" Jasmine asked him, as she grinned. Joseph looked at her and shook his head. "Nothing,” he said. "I saw the jealousy monster pop in your head,” she teased, and he gave her a somber look. Jasmine took his face in her palms and she looked up at him with care. "You have nothing to be jealous about,” she whispered, and he smiled at her. Jasmine pulled his face down to hers and she quickly kissed him on the lips. "Better?" she asked, as she raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah,” he said, bashfully, and Jasmine giggled. At that moment, Joseph pulled her to the dance floor and pulled her close. They stayed to the slow song that the band was playing. She looked into his eyes and everything and everyone else disappeared. She felt as though she was in a trance as she watched as Joseph's eyes shimmered from his normal honey-colored eyes turned golden and back to honey. Joseph looked into her eyes and watched hers shimmer in a kaleidoscope of colors. She felt a surge of power rip through her body, and he felt the same power surge through him. Joseph didn't break eye contact. "How are you doing this?" he asked, softly, and she smiled at him. "I don't know, but it's beautiful. I thought you were doing it,” she said, as she looked down at his lips and back into his eyes. Gently, he leaned into her and pressed his lips against hers. The power surge shot through both of them, and they looked at each other as the kiss ended. They felt even more closer than they had ever been in their lives together. "Jassy, I think I'm falling in love with you,” he whispered against her neck. Jasmine smiled as Joseph twirled her in their own small circle, and she sighed a happy sigh. She couldn't deny it, she felt the same way about him. There was an undeniable force between them. Even Damian, Mandy, and Kevin could feel it. From that moment on, Jasmine and Joseph were inseparable. Suddenly, Jasmine pulled back and searched Joseph's eyes. "I think I feel the same way,” she whispered, and he searched her eyes. "Really?" he asked, cautiously, and Jasmine smiled and nodded. At that moment, Joseph didn't care if they were in school, around their parents, or anyone in the matter. He pulled Jasmine close and then he kissed her deeply. Jasmine sighed as she hugged him around his waist. Everyone that watched, watched them with smiles and tears in their eyes, even the principal had tears in his eyes.
