Throughout the school year, Jasmine, Joseph, Damian, Chelsea, Mandy and Kevin became very close, and their relationships grew stronger. Since Joseph, Damian and Mandy were graduating this year, they had made plans to spend as much time together over the summer as they possibly could. Their plan was once Jasmine, Kevin, and Chelsea graduated the next year, they were all going to move away together and get out of Glee. Everything seemed perfect.

The school year was coming to a close and Jasmine had an enormous project due in her history class that counted for half of her grade for passing the class. She had to do a story about her childhood and, if possible, she had to include props that would help paint the picture of the story.
Jasmine looked in all the closets of the house and in the basement, and she couldn't find her childhood things anywhere. Evidently, she knew that her mother and father kept little trinkets of her childhood, but where would they have put them? She wondered as she walked up the basement steps, switched off the light, and closed the door. She found her mother sitting in the living room.
"Mom, where did you put all that stuff you saved from when I was little?" Jasmine asked her, making her jump.
Anna looked up at her daughter in question. Why would she be looking for that old stuff? Anna wondered.
"I put all the old boxes up in the loft. Why?" asked Anna.
Jasmine sat down next to her mother on the couch and smiled at her.
"I have a school project about my childhood, and it counts for half my grade, and I really want to do a good job and have props!" said Jasmine, and laid her head in her mother's lap.
Anna sat back and looked at her daughter, and Jasmine looked at her with interest.
"Unless you want to tell me some stories?" Jasmine grinned.
Her mother was working on her tablet and writing in her notebooks that were strewn across the coffee table. Jasmine could feel the electronic underneath her. She held her weight to make sure she didn't c***k the screen. Anna looked down at her daughter's grinning face and shook her head.
"Do you mind? I am trying to get some work done!" Anna said, as she smiled at her daughter.
Jasmine laughed and sat up, and Anna inspected her tablet.
"I made sure I was gentle,” said Jasmine.
Anna stopped looking at her tablet and smiled at her daughter. She was glad Jasmine turned out the way she did. Jasmine got up from the couch and saw that her mother had papers scattered all over the coffee table. She noticed that she was trying to track Leonard's movements and what was going on in the community in the forest.
Anna and Justin never kept anything from their daughter anymore. They decided that the truth and open honesty was the best for their family, that way there was no mystery or guilt in their household. If Jasmine and Kevin were part of their species, then it was only right they knew exactly what was going on.
"Have fun!" said Jasmine, quickly, as she headed out the backdoor.
Anna smiled, and she shook her head as she watched Jasmine walk out of the house.

Nonchalantly, Jasmine walked out into the barn and climbed up into the loft. She saw where her mother had stacked all the boxes, and she sighed a heavy sigh. Her childhood things could have been in any of those boxes.
Jasmine started pulling down boxes and read the words scribbled on them. She found a box labeled 'Jasmine' and pulled it down. Evidently, she didn't see the medium-sized box on top of the box she was pulling down, and as Jasmine tilted the box and pulled, the medium-sized box slid at her, and she ducked.
The box hit the floor with a thud, and she pushed the 'Jasmine' box back and looked at the box on the floor, curiously. It had 'Apocalypse' written on the top. Curiously, she bent down and opened the box. Jasmine pulled out a few pairs of brown shorts and black tank tops and tossed them to the side. She noticed that there were other things underneath the clothing, and she started pulling the odd objects out of the box.
The first thing she pulled out was a palm pilot. It was filthy, and the screen was cracked. Jasmine turned the small device in her hands and then she tried to push the power button, but nothing happened. It was dead. Unconcerned, Jasmine tossed it on the clothes and pulled out an old, worn leather journal. When she opened it, there was a folded map inside the journal. Curiously, she opened the map and saw it was a part of Guatemala. She looked at the journal and opened it. It was her mother's handwriting. She read about her mother's journey through the apocalypse that happened years ago.
As she continued reading, she read about how a man named Leonard Maverick and his son Alexander had started the apocalypse. As she read, she learned, these men had made a serum from an ancient creature called the Ambopteryx Longbrachium.
This creature was only found in the depths of the caves of this mountain in Guatemala. Anna had written about how she could feel it when the creatures died, sadness and pain. They were all connected, somehow.
Intrigued, Jasmine flipped ahead in the journal until she saw her name. Her mother's last entry was about how she hoped that whatever chromosome was in her body hadn't passed onto her daughter. As she skimmed back to the part about the creatures, Jasmine realized that the chromosome had passed onto her, and she was part of these creatures too.
Suddenly, Jasmine felt a sudden urge that she had to go to that mountain in Guatemala. Something was calling to her, and she had to find this creature. She didn't know why, but the sudden urge just came over her. Jasmine decided to go talk to Kevin about what she had found. Maybe he would feel the same calling.

She pulled Kevin aside one day and explained everything to him. He agreed and felt the same way as Jasmine did. They had to go there and find out what this feeling was. The school year was about to end, and they could plan a summer trip. They brought up everything one day in the cafeteria to Joseph, Damian, Mandy, and Chelsea.
"So, we are going on a trip to find the monsters that attacked the city?" asked Chelsea, worried, and Jasmine smiled at her.
"It's okay, I can feel it. If we find the Ambopteryx, I don't think it will hurt us," Jasmine reassured her.
Jasmine knew that if she and Kevin were connected to the beast that it wouldn't hurt them. They were part of its bloodline.
"How do you know for sure?" asked Mandy.
Jasmine shrugged. She knew that she had to keep some important details from her friends. Her parents told her not to tell anyone about her abilities. She hated the fact that she couldn't tell her friends, and she didn't want to lie to them anymore. However, she feared that she would be treated differently if they knew.
"I don't! But if anything happens, we can handle it,” said Jasmine.
"Danger, near death experience, count me in!" said Damian and smiled.
Mandy grinned and nodded, and Kevin shook his head. Mandy could be a little aggressive at times, but he loved her for it. Joseph looked at Jasmine and smiled.
"Oh, you already know I'm going, if you are,” said Joseph and chuckled.
Jasmine grinned and everyone looked at Chelsea. She looked up at everyone and bit her lip.
"Okay, I'll talk to my parents,” she said, and Damian put his arm around her.
"I will protect you, honey. Not to worry!" he said, and looked into her eyes.
She looked up at him and nodded. She had a feeling they were all signing their own death certificates, but if she was to die, it would be with Damian and everyone she loved.
So why not? Chelsea thought to herself.
