Ben's Point of View

With everything going on lately I decided to take Layla out to dinner but the moment our food arrived Layla's face fell and the scent of my mate filled the air. I looked in the direction Layla was looking and there she was with Rick with the most beautiful smile I had ever seen.

She was wearing a beautiful black dress with her hair curled and I couldn't help but stare. I wish I was the one putting that smile on her face and having dinner with her.

"She is so annoying," Layla said snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at her and she was not happy.

"I know you don't like her but she will be gone soon," I said as I took a sip of my drink.

"Doesn't look that way to me. The alpha looks like he is trying to get her to stay."

"He does like her but from what she has said she wants to go." Just then my wolf growled and I ignored him.

"We will see about that."

As we ate Layla stopped talking and began looking at her phone. As I ate I kept glancing at them and they seemed happy and then when I looked at Layla I thought about what we looked like to others. Do we look happy and in love?

'We could be like that,' my wolf said.

'We are.'

'No, we aren't. She does not love you but you are too stubborn to see it.'

'Layla loves us and shows it a different way.'

'You will find out soon enough but then you won't have Tess. WAKE UP," He shouted.

'Enough," I yelled back at him.

My wolf growled but didn't speak further.

We finished eating and drove home in silence and as we walked in the door I said, "Layla are you happy?"

She turned around and looked at me. "Of course. Why would you say that?"

"You just seem distant."

She walked up and kissed me with a smile on her face. "I have been distracted that's all. I love you, Ben. You know that."

She turned to walk away from me but I pulled her towards me and kissed her. As we kissed I picked her up and walked us to our room without breaking the kiss. I laid her on the bed and started to undress her and touch her.

'This is wrong,' My wolf growled.

'Shut up.'

I tried to ignore my wolf and focus on pleasing Layla but he began showing me images of Tess. What she would look like naked.

'Stop it,' I yelled at him.

'I want my mate.'

'She is here, pregnant with our child and waiting for us to please her.'

'NO. I want Tess.'

'Enough.,' and then I began to finger Layla causing her to moan. The closer Layla got to orgasming the more images of Tess my wolf sent me and once I felt her o****m I laid down and closed my eyes.

Yes I was turned on and my d**k was harder than I have ever felt it but I couldn't bring myself to have s*x with Layla. It would be wrong to have s*x with her while thinking of another woman.

"Why did you stop?" Layla asked as she pushed herself up on her forearms and looked at me.

"I don't want to hurt the baby." I lied but she couldn't know about Tess.

"You won't," And she reached for my d**k but I pulled her hand away.

"Let's talk to the doctor about it first."

Sighing she said, "Well at least let me get you off."

'Do not let her near my d**k,' my wolf growled.

"Babe not tonight. Tonight was about you. I am fine," I lifted up and kissed her head.

I fell asleep with Tess on my mind and an angry Layla in my bed. Over the next several day's things became tense. My wolf wouldn't stop thinking about Tess and whenever I saw her with Rick he was ready to tear him apart. Layla began acting weird and pulling away from me and my stress level was rising. I had no clue what to do.

If things couldn't get any worse Layla and I were supposed to head to her parent's house in the morning and I had to cancel. One of the local packs called and wanted to have a meeting in the morning. I had no choice but to be there and Layla was not happy. She decided to leave tonight instead of in the morning claiming I no longer cared for her. I told her how much I loved her but she was still fuming when she left. Nothing I said would calm her down or convince her otherwise so as she pulled away I sighed and walked back into the house.

As Layla pulled away from the pack she pulled out her phone and dialed Kane.

"What?" He snapped as he answered his phone.

"Do not talk to me that way."

"I'm sorry babe just trying to get everything ready."

"Well then your about to hate me."

"What happened?" He asked with an annoyed tone.

"You need to attack tonight."

"Why?"

"Because tomorrow there will be another alpha there along with several of his men. I have left so when your ready go."

"Fine. We leave out in an hour."

"Good. Make me proud," And she hung up.

As Layla drove further away from the pack with a smile on her face, Kane and his men started to head out.

It was about two in the morning when Kane and his men arrived to the pack and they ran full force across the border. Ben was in bed sleeping when he woke up to a mind link screaming that they were under attack. He jumped up out of bed and ran out of his house and in the direction that the others were running. He transformed into his wolf and soon he saw the rogues.
