Tess's Point of View

I Was fast asleep when I was woken up by people shouting and the sound of movement. I sat up and listened and that is when I heard someone say the pack was under attack.

I quickly got out of bed and ran over to the window and I saw men and women running in both human and wolf form towards the woods.

'What should we do?' I asked my wolf. I wanted to run. What if it was the hunters?

'We help,' She said.

'What do you mean?'

'You are part siren and wolf. Don't hide yourself like are people did. Help this pack because there is an army here and I doubt they have the power to win.'

'How do you know that?'

'I can feel it.'

'But I have never used my abilities to lure people before. What if they are hunters or the hunters find out?' I said with fear coursing through my body.

'You are strong Tess, Just believe in yourself. Help them. If the hunters find out then they can protect you. You are not alone,' she said and I knew she was right. I opened the window, jumped out of it landing on my feet, and took off running towards the woods.

I could hear wolves fighting and the sounds of some crying out in pain.

'How do I know who is good and bad?'

'Embrace who you are and your abilities will guide you.'

I swallowed the lump in my throat and began to sing. As I sang I walked in the direction of the lake I had swam in before.

Soon the sounds of fighting stopped and I could hear people talking but I kept singing.

As I approached the lake I sang even louder and walked into it allowing those behind me to follow to their watery death.

As the rogues began to follow Tess into the water the hunters who accompanied them had earplugs in and ran away from the pack when they saw what was happening. They would get her another day.

Rick's Point of View

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The rogues stopped fighting and transformed into their human forms and began to walk away. They were in a trance and as I followed them I soon discovered why. Tess was singing and leading them to the lake.

I just stood there and watched but soon I smelled the most amazing scent ever. My mate.

'Find her,' my wolf screamed with panic. I knew if I did not find her that she would die.

I ran through the crowd of people and then I saw her. A young girl with cuts and blood on her body and she was almost to the water. I ran for her and as her toes touched the water I pulled her back. She tried to fight me but I wouldn't let her go. She was mine.

"What the hell are you doing?" Ben yelled from behind.

"She is my mate. Help me," I screamed as I began to pull her away from the water but it seemed like she had gained super strength because she was fighting me to get to the water.

Ben ran in front of me and stuck his fingers in her ears and soon the trance she was in was gone and she tried to pull away but Ben shook his head telling her no and when she saw the others going into the lake her eyes grew wide.

Once the last of the rogues were in the water and I could no longer hear the song I said, "I think you can unplug her ears."

"Okay," Ben said and removed his fingers from my mate's ears. She turned around and looked at me with hope in her eyes.

"Hi," I whispered.

"Hi."

"Um, Alpha what do you want the pack to do?" Alex said as he walked up to us.

"Those that are injured need to go to the hospital, a perminator set back up and two groups combing the pack for any rogues left behind. Those who are not needed to form a clean-up, crew. Dead rogues get burned without honor in a pile and ares will we will have a send off later."

"What of the hunters?" My mate asked.

"Hunter. What hunters?" Ben asked with anger in his voice.

"There were about ten hunters with us."

"Why did you attack?" I asked her.

"Kane promised us a home as long as we killed the alpha and the hunters got a girl."

"What girl?" Ben asked.

"She was a half-bred. That is all I know."

I looked at Ben and his eyes were black. I knew his wolf was angry and I pulled my mate behind me.

"They know she was here. How?" He yelled as he stepped up to me.

"Back down Beta because if you harm my mate I will kill you."

"And she tried to take mine."

"Well, your mate does not need saving because she saved us. Now stand down that is an order." I wanted to say more because he had Layla but I would not provoke his wolf.

Ben's eyes returned to normal and he stepped back. "Sorry alpha."

"It is okay. Do you by chance know what she is doing with all those people?"

"No, and I am not sure I want to. I am going to go and see what is happening while you do what you do," And he walked away.

I turned around and looked at my beautiful mate. She had red straight hair, grey eyes, and cute freckles peppering her face. She was beautiful.

"Hi, I'm alpha, Rick."

She looked down and said, "I'm Becky. What do you plan on doing with me?"

I could see her breathing increase and I smiled. "Well, I plan on getting to know you and hopefully convince you to become my mate."

This caused her to look and smile at me.
