Scarlett had slept for two days. Liam stayed by her side the entire time. Scarlett woke up to the sunshine beating down on her face and Liams arms wrapped tightly around her waist. she started to stir and her eyes fluttered open. she needed to go to the bathroom but didn't want to wake him up. she slowly tried easing out of his grip but he pulled her closer to him. " I like this plan. did you want me to inform the warriors?" she could see the sparkle in his eyes. he was excited to be a dad and she could feel it through their bond. they could feel each other so deeply.

" no I will. they are probably really happy to just be back with the pack and their families after so long being away from them. " she smiled placing her hands on her stomach. " we are going to be parents! I'm so scared and excited!" she felt Liam place a kiss on her forehead.

" Come on let's take a shower and we can head to the doctors for a check up before we leave." Scarlett jumped into his arms and let him carry her to the bathroom and place her under the hot steamy water.

they were headed to the doctor for a check up and to see how far along she was. Scarlett didn't think she could be that far. she had only had s*x a month ago. however, she did know for dragons and werewolves pregnancy was different and even more so between the two species. dragons were egg layers and wolves had live births. Scarlett was nervous as to what was going to happen. " little rose bud you are nervous I can feel it."

they were now in front of the doors and scarletts nerves were all over the place. she couldn't stop thinking about what might happen. will her body be able to accept this pregnancy? " just so many questions about the differences between our species. will this be a live birth will I lay an egg. will the baby be ok? will he or she be a dragon or a wolf. I'm all over the place." she felt liams fingers brush her cheeks.

" no matter what I will be there to help you and hold you through it. I love you."

she rested her head on his chest and took a deep breath in. " I love you too Liam. " he kissed her head and pushed open the door as they walked into the doctor together.

there was a nurse sitting at the desk going over paperwork. she looked up at them and smiled. " how can I help you?"

Liam never took away his hand. he just let Scarlett hold onto him for dear life. she was using him for her life support. " we are here to see doctor branscomb. I am prince Liam and this is princess Scarlett. "

" yes please wait right here I will see if there is a room available " Scarlett watched as she skirted away. the door swung open and the nurse called them to come back. " please this room here is available and he will be in shortly. " she nodded and walked out. then popped her head back in briefly. " I almost forgot. that paper gown needs to go on. nothing on underneath. " then she closed the door and Liam and Scarlett were alone.

Scarlett began taking her clothes off and folding them. after she was done she had Liam help her tie the paper gown in the back for her. she hopped up onto the table and placed the paper blanket over her lap that they had waiting for her. " I wish it didn't feel like such a sterile environment. I hope that when we get home things will be a little more relaxing and inviting for doctor appointments. "

she looked over at Liam who was a balm of nerves pacing back and forth waiting for the doctor. " yeah it would be nice if it was more inviting for you." she watched him start pacing again. there was a small knock at the door and the doctor peaked his head in.

" hello prince, princess." he bowed at them as he came into the room. " alright I am going to do an ultrasound see what is going on inside and maybe answer a few more questions for you both." Scarlett watched as the doctors eyes grew wide. " so Scarlett you are an ice dragon shifter and Liam you are a wolf? this is very interesting. let's take a look inside. this pregnancy is unheard of. it has honestly never happened before." the doctor motioned for Scarlett to lay back and reached over turning on a monitor. then he grabbed a bottle and looked at Scarlett. " this will be cold but it is necessary to see what is going on in there." the doctor squeezed the gel onto her belly and took a wand moving it around on her stomach. she sighed as she heard a babies heartbeat in the monitor. " well this is very interesting. I have never seen anything like this."

Scarlett looked at Liam with concern. she was getting scared and still had no answers. the doctor cleared his throat. " well you are definitely pregnant. congratulations. Scarlett I don't believe you will be hatching this baby. it looks like you will actually be carrying this baby but this baby is definitely encased in there. it's as if both of your DNA has mixed together creating a hybrid baby. this baby is the first of its kind. it looks as though you are having a baby that has both a dragon and a wolf." the doctor continued looking at the picture on the screen. " did you want to know the gender of your baby?"

" you can tell that already?"

" oh yes princess. from the looks of this you won't be pregnant very long at all. dragons usually lay their egg and develop it over a four month period of time. wolves give birth around six months. this baby being hybrid has accelerated this process. you may only be three weeks but you are more like five months right now. if this acceleration continues this way. you are looking at another month before giving birth."

Liam and Scarlett looked at each other in shock. much to scarletts relief Liam spoke up. " so you are saying we could have a baby in a month?"

" yes. it looks that way."

" I want to know what we are having please." Scarletts voice was shaky but she didn't want to wait. she wanted to know.

the doctor smiled and moved the wand a little taking a few pictures. " congratulations you two you are having a baby boy. please let me know if you need anything and when you head back to the ice kingdom please make an appointment for 1 week. with a pregnancy like this constant monitoring is necessary. " the doctor reached up wiping the gel off of her belly and then walked out of the room.

Scarlett was holding onto Liam for dear life. she was holding the pictures in her hands. " are you ok with this?"

" little rose bud if we were having this baby today I would still be happy and excited to be the father of our child. I'm just worried about you and want to make sure you are comfortable and able to travel home."

Scarlett got up getting herself dressed. " I'm good. a little shocked but good. I'm going to have to buy stretchy clothes soon for sure. we should get ready, we travel home tomorrow. "

" you my dear are to rest. I already have the servants packing our things. can we tell my parents before we leave? we won't see them again for a while and I want to tell them in person."

" oh Liam of course! I love you!" she felt his hands on her face kissing her forehead. they were going to have a baby.
