CHAPTER 35

Cassian

Flashbacks of someone else’s dream made me lose my mind for the nth time, as I woke up all sweaty, screaming at top of my lungs and setting the small hut on the fire, again. They finally found this as a way to help me from my frequent nightmare, as they can’t handle me setting everything on fire everyday.

Got up and focused to suck back all the fire, however it did work this time but i can’t guarantee that it won’t happen again. Walking up to the small bucket placed outside the wooden hut, I splashed the water on my face to cool it down. As I noticed my surroundings, it was before dawn, yet all the little birds were awake and chirping.

I can’t tell how much I missed this after passing out on the training grounds. Luckily, my healing factor healed my broken nose but it didn't help the hate I have for Uchias. That bastard almost killed just to prove his point.

That’s the main reason why I opted to live in this small hut rather than his house, i can’t tolerate this shithead arguing for baseless things. I have decided to leave all these materials and focus on building myself, not to prove to anyone but me. Since the day I saw my parents burned to ashes in my dream, I knew that I am not here to waste time. There is a purpose of my birth and I have to find that purpose, no matter what.

I sighed loudly and warmed up a bit before heading to reach the sun in his direction. I was running harder to build stamina, so I can focus my powers more accurately. Loving the fact that the adrenaline rushed in my veins, forcing me to put most of my effort in my training. I will never let my dead father be disappointed in me, I will save my mother from Zeus’s torment.

Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me and I looked back to see three of them following me. A devilish smirk curled up to the corner of my lips as I dashed and rushed forward then their capability.

“Cassian!!!” I heard Katia calling my name out but I didn't look back and let them have some work up.

Then it came, the end of the road and the cliff was higher than anything, I couldn't risk my life to jump from there, but hey, isn't that why they called me rebellious. I still have a point to prove.

“No!! Cassian!! That’s dangerous… stop!!!” Alarous tried to stop me but I jumped and fell in the river flowing down to it.

“Casssiaannnnn….” Katia’s scream was heard louder than the thunderbolts.

My body fell in the river, deep and I let my body move by the water. I wanted to heal, I wanted to feel it though, I wish I could evaporate this whole place in fumes.

Suddenly, my eyes opened and I saw darkness around me. Nothing to be seen, I felt stunned and scared a bit but I knew this isn;t the end, as I saw a light coming from above, to the bottom of the river. The rimples stand out in the whole surface as her body enters the river, cutting the surface though.

There she came and took my body in her arms, swimming back up on the surface to save my worthless life.

“Come on, hang on a bit more, Cassian. I promise I won't let anything happen to you.” she said to me when i was lying just with my eyes closed. I wished to smile but I put a blank expression on my face.

She tried to shake my body, pressed my chest hard to bring life back to me.

“Oh no!!! Please, don’t… Why did you do this?” I heard her snuffling. Was she crying?

She is crying for me? Is it really something important to her? Crying for a person like me.

Suddenly, she caught my lips with hers, just to resuscitate me. I wanted more of her but I laughed when she cried harder.

She gasped when I got up and went back to hell laughing like a madman. She was furious because she saw everything red. Coming to me, she beat me like a stuffed toy.

“Why??” she screamed at me.

“What?” I asked her.

“Why did you jump from there? You scared everyone of us….” She was crying like hell and I got serious.

“I was just…” I tried to explain to her.

“Shut up!!! You know nothing… when you jumped i got so scared that i jumped after you to save you….” she panted so hard, i felt bad for pranking them.

“I thought i lost you…” she almost whispered after wiping her tears.

I don’t know what to do but I caught her in a hug…

“I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you..” I said in a low voice.

“I can’t imagine my life without you.. I am in love with you, i***t. How can you think of leaving me alone? I will die with you if you ever did this to me again….” she scolded me yet confessed her feelings.

“You love me? I thought I was unlovable? I never received anyone’s love in my life? I forget the sense of what it feels like to be loved…” i said with a heaviness in my voice.

“Everyone deserves love, and you too. Remember the day you saved me from the shadow warriors. Even being a stranger to me, you risk your life to save my life and bring me out of my dilemma. You gave me this life and I am very thankful for you about this. I had this feeling that I like you but I was so confused, until now but when I realised you were in danger, I didn't think of my life one time before risking it to save yours. Then I found out that I am in love with you.” she said while holding my face up and looking into my eyes her trembled hands were telling it clearly how much this little prank affected her.

I keep looking deeply at her face, “the day i saw you in that hospital, i knew you were different. Your hazel bluish eyes hit my heart’s note and I wasn't aware of that feeling. Now it all makes sense, why risk my life to save yours before that voice inside my head was telling me to save you. He knows that you are in danger and I have to bring you back to my safe arms. I took it for you and even today, I took it for you. I wish I had the courage to tell you earlier but I have been in love with you since the day I saw you… and I am more than glad that the feelings are mutual between us.” I smiled before catching her in a long, deep, passionate yet a gentle kiss that I was longing to have.

It seemed that the time had stopped and the world didn't matter at all, all matter was us, she and I, together as we belong.

“Ahmmm… ahmmm…” i heard someone coughing behind us and my eyes looked at amusing expression from Alarous and Uchias.

My gaze narrowed at them, “can’t we give love birds some time alone..” Alarous winked at me and they both left like vanishing in thin air.

“Looks like they are not coming any soon…” I said to Katia before locking my lips with her.
