CHAPTER 1
prologue  The crimson shade of the fireball has been painted into the dramatic violet sky, glazing like a fire breather in a coal valley. The conflicted clouds were roaring on the opposite end of the horizon, indicating the worst of the night coming in the way of the ancient war of fangs. The lighting in the air was clashing within, as the blades of the weapons collided with deep intensity. The shockwaves felt by the passing trees, as revolted in the other direction.  The tiniest bug has covered himself from the wrath of the gods, hoping secretly to get this time pass soon. Tension was being heavy in the air and smoke was burnt. With no fair results and death of the fellow mates, the god of wolves returned with his army, to the nearest camp. The place soon covered with the hairy dogs scattering in the sand to take some rest. They were all tired of dragging the bodies of the mates who caught along their side and no longer felt safe, not even in the lap of their mother. The king dropped to his knees before his pregnant wife and rubbed her belly carefully, making sure she was still alive. The woman opened her eyes precisely and observed the surrounding. She was covered in the small shrubs so no enemy could harm her easily. "Alaine!" He rolled out her name from his dried tongue. She became nervous and came out quickly under the safe place. "Omar! You are late! Is…." She was about to ask something when the king interrupted her. "No! The war is ongoing, and I can't predict anything now. We have killed thousands of enemies on the land but sacrificed hundreds of our warriors. I can't say how long this war will go…" the king was depressed. "What do you think? Is there a possibility for wolves like us?" She was curious but asked politely, she didn't want to enrage her king. "These superior Gods have audacity to control everything. If they had understood our existence as normal beings, then this wouldn't have been the issue. They wanted to wipe out our race and we have to fight for our existence." The king replied in his serious tone. "What if the gods win? Will all of us go extinct?" The queen was scared and thinking of the possibility of staying alive. "We can run!" She suggested. The king shook his head, "we can, but we can't hide forever. They will find us and kill us. It won't be a matter of time for them. How long will we keep going with this?" The queen stayed silent with wrinkles in her forehead, she was worried about her king and the unborn child. "I can't pray to that god who is against us, because we are powerful species. They are afraid of our powers and abilities. That's the sole reason for this war." The queen spat angrily. The king hugged her like he was going to lose his queen forever. "Alaine! I promise to you! I will give you a better world than this. I am confident that we will win.” the king tried to console his anxious but pregnant wife. “It’s all Lycaon’s fault. He made Zeus angrier and from Zeus wrath, we were born, and now we will be wiped out under these iron claws.” The queen sobbed and spoke in the middle of her sniffles. “That’s in the past and there is no reason we should lift it out from the graves. What matters to us is to fight for our existence.” The king stated in a stern voice. The queen looked at him in disbelief and stated, “we are fighting against olympians, do you think we stood a chance?” the queen seemed serious. “What do you mean?” the king baffled and looked away from his queen. “Just fighting for our existence isn’t enough, we have to win. And you know what has happened in history, those who challenge the olympians have been lost in history. I am scared, Omar!” the queen was at the verge of a mental breakdown. The king was struggling to keep up with her Queen’s sentimental thoughts. He was thinking in deep that his wife wasn’t wrong about the olympian gods. Even if they give their best in the war, the gods are more powerful than them and will make them surrender or kill their entire community. He noticed that the queen fell asleep fast, due to her pregnancy hormones, she was exhausted than she was before. The king left the wing and went back to check on his army. His eyes fell on the wounded soldiers. They were putting bandages over their injuries and the others were helping them. The sight startled the king, his queen's words banging inside of his head. The soldiers spotted the king standing under the shadows and they stood attentive in respect. “Sire! You should be resting, tomorrow will be another tough day in the battle.” the commander approached the king and bowed in respect. “The king can’t rest seeing his men dying, getting fatally wounded on the battlefield. The king can’t rest until he finishes his battle and becomes victorious. A king can’t rest until he takes his last breath.” the king commanded in an authoritative tone. All the soldiers bowed to him. “I don’t know what the sun will bring us tomorrow. I don’t know if we will survive tomorrow, but I know one thing, I have to fight to win. For our culture, our community, our existence!!!!!” the king stated with bold expressions. “All hail the wolf king!” his soldiers chanted in unison. “What do you have in your mind, sire? I am sure this energy has something to tell us.” the commander asked and the king smirked devilishly. “I have formulated a strategy to win this battle.” the king appeared dark with his hard expressions on the face, glowing under the light of the torches.
