The rustling of the harsh winds blowing and the whizzing sound making it a clear indication of the upcoming wind, over the clouds. The sun hid under the coat of thick, black clouds and yet there was no rain from the sky as the god of thunder decided to leave everyone with a drought as a punishment. The punishment they received on the behalf of the queen Alaine, who disguised as the king in his place, in the war.
The way she led the battle, being a woman, hurt the god’s ego. Though, he didn’t actually need to serve the human a punishment as it was just an excuse but why be bad in someone’s eye when you can simply throw one in flames?
The drought does bring extinction of the population on the earth but the problem didn’t just end there. They were left with nothing to live for. And conditions for the non humans were worse, as they were near to see the wrath of Zeus everyday.
Not so far in a barren land, Asetus and his army was sent back to the time zone they belong, because they failed to retrieve and bring the only heir of Thesaurus. He was already petrified knowing that he has to explain himself and his utter failure to his father, the king of wolf once they said before Zeus banished him, he is Lycaon.
But before Asetus would reach the hideous place where his father is residing currently, away from Zeus' knowledge, he was stopped and blocked by a familiar figure.
His brows scrunched as he observed the figure closely and read the expression behind that mask of the man.
“Who dares you to block my way? Do you even know who I am?” he roared in anger.
The man smirked and replied in an attitude, “I very well know who and what you are, Asetus, prince of Arcadia. Sadly, you didn’t live enough to rule over the Arcadia because your dumb father thought of pranking the god of thunder, pissing him anfd in Zeus rage, you all got killed. I wonder what kept you in the middle of death and life?” the masked man asked.
Asetus was surely taken aback by the information that was revealed to him. Of course, he wasn’t an ordinary messenger roaming in this place.
“Wondering how do I know this? And of course, you do want to know who I am? Well, I will make things simple for you.” the man said and removed his mask from his face.
Asetus was shocked, yet frightened at the sight of Zeus’s favorite messenger.
“Oh!! Now I understand what you are doing here? That pest of a god sent you to keep his tabs on us? Huh… don’t worry, you won’t get any information from here.” Asetus remarked as he took out his weapon and was ready to attack.
“It doesn’t matter, I know why you switched timelines? You were looking for him.. Sadly you are not with him.. I was expecting that you must have enough ability to bring an heir back this time.” he shook his head and chuckled.
Asetus was humiliated by the insult he faced from Aurth. He jumped into the battle to kill him but instead, Aurth dug his whole sword in Asetus’s head? Killing him on spot. Watching that horror, the army ran away to hide from this monster.
Aurth laughed as he removed the sword out from Asetus’s head and opened his skull with the blades of his sword. The site was gory and bloody but it didn’t affect him at all.
“Ah… nothing much…” he pointed after removing the brain from his skull.
He had no time to take the brain to Zeus, so using his skills to read dead minds, he read Asetus’. Pictures in flash appeared from Aurth’s closed eyes. He saw thousand’s horrifying things as memories. Suddenly, it went to the recent one where Asetus fought with Alarous and two other people, one boy and one girl. He recognised Alarous immediately but the other two were not familiar to him. Still, used his neurons to make a connection. He understood that the boy with Alarous was no one else but the only heir of Omar and Alaine, the last Thesaurus.
As soon as the brain slipped from his hands, he went down on his knee in exhaustion. He still couldn’t believe what he just saw.
“Oh no!! I need to alert Zeus about this..” Aurth got up and rushed to Olympus to see Zeus.
However, there was an important meeting held in the throne room. The guards alert and warn Aurth about Zeus' mood swings, but that can wait, right?
Aurth rushed inside the meeting and interrupted it. Zeus’s eyes landed on him and he narrowed his gaze on him.
“Aurth!!!! How dare you disrespect my privacy like this? Don’t you know how much you will be punished for interrupting my meeting like this?” Zeus stood from his throne and glared deadly at Aurth.
“My lord, I understand and respect your privacy but I had this important information to transfer to you, and it was urgent..” he said with an urgency in his voice.
“Then say it.. And if I don't find your information valid, I will behead you and throw your leftovers to my pets..” Zeus hissed angrily and sat back to hear what his messenger had to say.
“Umm…” Aurth was confused; he didn’t know where to start.
“Say it or do I have to throw you to my pets?” Zeus rebuked.
“Lycaon is alive and hiding in a barren land of western Arcadia…” he said immediately.
“That son of a b***h… I knew he was alive and hiding somewhere, and I am sure he was plotting something once again..” Hermes said while slamming his palm on the big, huge oval shaped gold plated table.
“Silence!!!!” Zeus roared, “he isn’t finished yet.” he added in his command.
Zeus nodded at Aurth to continue, “just as my lord Hermes has said, he is plotting something against Olumpians, yet I am not clear about it. Perhaps, it involves someone we never thought of his existence till this day..” Aurth said in a stuttering voice.
“What is it?” Artemis inquired from him.
Aurth was hyperventilating but focused to deliver his shocking yet fascinating news, “i killed Asetus as i was keeping my tabs on him to find Lycoan’s where about. He was switching timelines from centuries for some reason, which is revealed today. They went into the time zone of the twenty-first century.”
He continued, “I killed Asetus as soon as he stepped back in this timeline and read his brain for information. I saw Alarous, chief commander of Omar Thesaurus and second hand of Alaine Petridis. Asetus and Alarous had a huge battle before a boy came along with Alarous and burned Asetus with his rising flames.” he said.
“Just that?” Hermes scrunched..
“Who is that boy?” Zeus demanded an answer.
“I am afraid to say anything about him, but all I know is Asetus was switching timelines to find the only heir of Thesaurus. That boy could be the last heir…” Aurth revealed.
All the Olumpians gasped and murmurings started in the hall.
“Silence!!!!!! “ Zeus stood in anger and he was beyond control.
“Deceived us, that b***h queen deceived us. She told me that she gave birth to a dead baby. That witch, she has planned this so far.. Oh.. I swear I know how to make all this interesting…..” Zeus roared so loud that his chest visibly palpated.
He brought his weapon, the thunderbolt and chanted some words before everything shook with a force and portals to different timelines opened.
Artemis quickly snatched the thunderbolt from his hands and calmed him down.
“Zeus.. you cannot act rash in this situation. He needs that boy in our favor and there are plenty of ways to do that…” Artemis smiled and Zeus glared at her for interrupting his business.
