CHAPTER 31

Cassian The gravity was nullified by the dark pit between the earth’s core. I felt extremely hot as any passing second, i will be burned by a fire. But isn’t the fire within me? Or did I do that, i mean the c***k in the ground which made me fall inside the black hole? Heck, I don't believe this s**t, nor do I believe in myself before. Falling deeper in the void, I become a void itself. Truly, I never wished this life for me but I have given one. There must be a reason for it, right? The things I saw made me a stone heart, a rebel, yet it never broke me. I am still Iron, strong as Iron claws, I am rebellious like wind who never listens to anyone but makes everyone listen to it. My hazel eyes saw all darkness, that was my life until I saw and believed what I am now. Suddenly, I felt my back stiff like it had landed on some cold hard ground. Soon I opened my eyes and saw the blue sky merged with chalky white clouds, levitating above. Little birds were chirping loudly. I turned my head left to right to check my surroundings and noticed nothing but a dry field, destroyed crops and abandoned villages nearby. I stood back on my feet and observed everything closely. Surely, I wasn't on earth as the air and the land didn’t feel the same it used to be. Even the blue of the sky was blue than normal days. The vibes in the air hit him differently. But confused, I thought, what is this place? “What the f**k in this world just happened?’ I said while still consuming everything. “Where are others? Alarous? Katia?” I called their names out but didn’t hear a single thing. Even though the silence was utter and the wind gusted through me, I still felt a shudder down my spine because somehow I felt that someone was watching me. “Hello?” I asked with a high voice but no response from the other side. “Where am i? What place is this? Is anybody here?” I tried my luck finding them but nothing returned back. I sighed and inhaled some air to fill my lungs, then exhaled it, repeated it for a while and thought. What if they never fell in the parted ground? Which means they are still in the building?  Suddenly, this made my heart sink for bad. Thought of living alone scared me to the core. My heart beats fast and I sweat badly. No nothing about this weird place, how long will I survive here? Suddenly, I heard random rustling of the small trees and the hair on the nape of my neck stood erect. I knew that wasn’t the wind but something. Though, I realised that I was carrying a sword with me, and it surely boosted my confidence for a while. Alert and sound, I gulped the saliva in my mouth and went to look for the trouble, because my life in chaos isn’t that chaotic. Moved my legs silently and the feet were trembling yet I was alert. All of a sudden, a high pitched laugh scared the s**t out of me and I screamed like a woman, at top of my lungs and rushed in the opposite direction to save my life. “Ahhhhhhhh!!!!’ no more games, i ain’t coming back here once i found a way to go back. “Cassian!!!!!” I heard a familiar voice and I halted. I Looked around to see two figures approaching me and I understood what just happened. Alarous with a teary smile, holding on the laugh but poor attempt. I glared at both of them and flared my nostrils. “Good job, you scared me. How much did you get?” I screamed at them. Hilarious laughs by Alarous and so does Katia. “Oh.. that was good, really… really good.” Alarous laughed like a maniac. “We should have recorded that…” Katia was feeling the same. “When I will prank you guys, then you will brick shits… trust me..” I glared one last time before picking my sword up and took a rest on the ground. “What is this place?” I inquired from Alarous, as he seemed very cool and carefree, not usually like he always worries about everything. “This is… ancient roman times…” he winked and sat beside me. I narrowed my gaze with brows scrunched in the middle, “don’t try this time…” I shook my head. He snorted and said, “why do i try when i know what place is this. I was born here, lived here for many years, I was willing to come back here, this is home.” The ground beneath my feet appeared to disappear. How the hell is this possible? But after seeing everything, do I really have to raise this point? We are in the past. “How did this happen? All I remember is that the ground splitted and we fell in it.” Katia asked Alarous and I wondered about it too. “Time zones work differently, sometimes, they are like portals. When I brought Cassian with me to modern times, I used traveling sand which turned us into dust particles and boom, we landed in your world.” he explained the things to us. “But still, it doesn’t explain the point, how and why the portal opened? I mean time zones don’t work like this, otherwise there would have been creatures roaming in the modern world and humans must be here.” i highlighted the fact. Aalrous looked in deep thoughts, “you are right!!! Time portals don’t open until they are opened manually by some sort of spell or magic sands. It means, someone opened the portal but for what?” He looked puzzled too. “What about those creatures? Maybe they opened it..” Katia asked. Alarous shocked his head, “no!! They are not powerful enough to open a large portal. It must be someone who possesses a lot of power. Still I don't get to this point, whoever opened the portal, he/she must be carrying a reason, because disturbing portals causes havoc.” he cleared a few points for us. Suddenly, it reminded me, “ what if my mother, my real mother opened it?” i straight up put the fact. “Alaine? Maybe, but the war has ended. I don’t know what the outcome was. Seems like things have changed since we left. I hope she is fine. If she opened the portal, then she must be looking for you. We need to find her.” Alarous said. I was still reluctant to ask him this but I have to, “how are we going to find her? And I am not sure what I said is true, it was just an assumption, right? What if my mother died in the battle?” I asked him. He turned to look at me and glared dangerously, “No!!! She cannot die.. As far as i know her, she must have planned for her escape. It can’t be possible that she is dead…” Alarous looked heart broken. “Wait!! We should confirm it first from someone else.” Katia suggested to us and then she looked at Alarous, “Alarous? You know this place so you might know where the nearest town is. People are a source of information and we have to rely on them. We need to blend with them, for our safety.” “Yeah, you are right… Those creatures will come back looking for us. And they might have sensed us either. I know a place nearby, we can stay there for the night.” Alarous said. “Then we should get going, the night was longs and bad for us but this day is even more exciting and thrilled as well..” i smirked and followed Alarous’s lead.
