Ascension The Last Heir

Chapter 03

The crew begins to proceed according to Dylan's plan, the task force proceeds through the exits trying to get into the building just as the bombs in the exits blow and the members of the crew began to attack first before the soldiers arrive causing the frontal assault to begin earlier than the Task force intended, then the civilians were forced to proceed through the only exit.

 As they proceed, the soldiers identify them as part of the crew and they began to shoot a few of them before realizing that they are civilians.

Arthur and the rest of the crew immediately head into the tunnel. As they proceed, Dylan gets a notification from his wrist pad and he suddenly stops after proceeding for a while. "Hold on.... s**t" said Dylan, "what's wrong?" asked Arthur who noticed Dylan stopping.

"I'm losing signal on the bombs. Go on ahead, I'll find another way." said Dylan.

"Another way?" asked Arthur in confusion. "Our original plan? Besides I have an alibi (he shows his fake ID) remember?" replies Dylan, "Your funeral, see you on the other side kid." said Arthur who proceeds as Dylan turns back.

Arthur then heads in with the rest of the crew as planned, they proceed, and they come across the false wall. "Here goes nothing." said Arthur as he aims and shoots at the wall with his huge Blaster, causing the wall to explode where he witnesses the passage now opened. "Yeah baby!" shouts Arthur.

Meanwhile back at the building, Dylan runs back and begins to receive signal, he presses the sequence to denote the bombs but is unable to do so when the notification pops up in his wrist pad saying signal jammed.

"Dang it!" said Dylan as he clicks a button on his neck which causes the armor to get the helmet to get equipped into himself. He then heads back into the hallway where he sees soldiers shooting the crew members.

He managed to get into a room where the controls for the power along with the CCTV monitors reside. He then walks near the controls and begins to open the power conduit, and he pulls down the plug causing the power to go down.

The entire building turns black and soldiers immediately switch to night vision which gives them the advantage over the crew members.

Dylan also uses night vision and uses this as distraction as he proceeds into the Manager's Office, he walks near the table and turns it upside down where he kept another bomb as contingency, he sets the bomb to trigger at exactly 13 minutes and leaves the room.

Then Dylan takes one of the weapons and some money lying down near the table and proceeds towards the stairs where he takes one of his tools and takes a few steps back and runs and jumps over the balcony and turns around quickly and aims it at a balcony in the 13th floor and shoots it, a kind of rope comes out of the tool and hooks towards the balcony on the 13th floor. Then he uses it to by pulling him through the rope to the 13th floor, and he successfully lands into the 13th floor, he then starts to run.

As he proceeds, he sees the end of the floor where he sees the forest through a window, he grabs his blaster while running and aims it at the window and shoots at it, and the glass shatters into pieces.

Then Dylan receives a notification the bomb is triggered, he runs as fast as possible through the broken window as the building begins to blast and he jumps, proceeding through into the broken window, he successfully managed to jump out of the building just as it explodes into pieces.

“Holy s**t! I did it." said as he comes out of the building. Just then he begins to rapidly fall down. "Oh, come on!" said Dylan as he immediately presses a button on his wrist which enables parachute.

 "Yes! Who knew this could come in handy?" said Dylan to himself as he manages to glide and tries to land in the surface but gets caught in a tree over the forest. He tries to free himself, but unfortunately is unable to. "You gotta be kidding me." Replied Dylan.

Meanwhile back at the Passage, Arthur and his crew proceed, they begin to feel a little tremor within the passage. "What the hell is going down there?" asked Gregory. "You mean up, cause we're below and..." replied Andrew as he was interrupted by Gregory. "Yeah, yeah, I get, and uh boss?" asked Gregory.

"What?" asked Arthur. "How long is this passage?" asked Gregory. “Hang tight, we are almost there." said Arthur as he proceeds. Just then he begins to hear noises from above. "What was that?" asked Andrew. Arthur realized the passage is about to blow. "Get down!" shouts Arthur as the passage explodes.

The entire crew is blinded by the smoke caused due to the explosion, just then soldiers drop from the surface and into the passage, shooting them on sight. "Boss! I can't see, where are you?" said Gregory. "Get to cover, everyone!" said Arthur as he begins to shoot at the soldiers coming from the surface. The smoke begins to clear and Arthur sees a chopper right above them.

"Look out!" shouts Arthur as the chopper begins to fire a missile at the passage, Arthur even though saved from the missile, knocks away into the wall, causing him to become unconscious due to the blast.

Moments pass as Arthur awakes as he finds the tunnel collapsed due to the missile firing, just then he witnesses almost all of the crew killed or critically injured while the Task force completely scouring through the collapsed tunnel both inside and above.

 Just then he finds Andrew who is alive but barely holding, he slowly crawls over to him and finds him critically injured with his both legs blasted into pieces and bleeding to death due to the blast.

"Sorry....boss. I... tried my..." said Andrew as fades away from conscious. "No, no, no, stay with me, stay with me alright? Andrew? Andrew? s**t this cannot be happening..." said Arthur as he tries to get up.

 The soldiers who are resting over the dead bodies begin to notice Arthur alive. Two of them walk up to Arthur and are surprised to find him alive. "s**t, this one is breathing." said the soldier.

"Let's take him to the infirmary, he might have information about the one who escaped." said the other soldier. "Wait... The one that escaped? Who is he? Is he a kid?" asked Arthur as helplessly trying to get up thinking Dylan is alive.

"Shut up." said the soldier who knocks him down with his weapon making him unconscious.
