Being in the city was suffocating, the fresh air there was damp, and Clement hated every bit of it, he was tired but he was going to force himself to attend the meeting and leave the next day. He wasn’t planning to stay more than he he should, if everything went well, the architect guy will come to their island to finalize everything, He was sure Jason wouldn’t mind fetching him on his jet. It was his project after all. He got in the big hotel room, Jason had booked for him the previous day, and had a quick shower putting on the restraining suit Jason told him it was necessary to wear, it felt stiff on his muscles but he wouldn’t die, if he wore it for a couple hours, and Jason wondered why he hated attending meeting so much, they were suffocating, pretending to be something they are not. Clement always wore his short, and tank top in the Island even when he was going to work, and it was easier for him when he went to train in the pack grounds, he didn’t need to impress anyone, he shook his head complaining won’t change the situation will it? He went downstairs to grab breakfast in the hotel dining area before going to the required building for the meeting, but the moment Clement got in the building his wolf fought to take over, it was on edge but Clement didn’t let it, and he used all his senses ready to attack if needed be. he was not called the best warrior for nothing, Clement never ever he put his gut down, even in the middle of the city he knew rogues could attack anytime. “Morning, I’m Mr. Black here for the 9am meeting” Said Clement the moment he reached the front desk, the girl looked up, and from the scent coming from her he knew she was one of those woman, she was already aroused, but he ignored the smell because it was not appealing to him at all. “Yes, Mr. Black I will inform the boss, I’m sure his ready for you” she emphasized the word ready, biting her red stained lips. He nodded looking around the lobby, the city had a fast life, everyone was busy, and many woman were wearing so high heels, he was scared for them, and men in suffocating suits and ties, he felt sorry for them. He tried putting the tie this morning and he just couldn’t even put it on for a second. That thing was trying to kill him. It was a man made death trap. “His ready for you, take the elevator to the top floor, but I can escort you if you don’t mind” she smiled seductively but Clement shook his head already going to the elevator, he couldn’t wait to get away from the horny woman who looked at him like some kind of snack. The moment the elevator’s doors opened on the top floor Clement eyes were already vigilant his heart thumping in his chest, he knew Levi was somewhere in this offices, his wolf pushed him to go find him, he sniffed the air ready to go pounce on his mate, when a woman voice interrupted him, the woman was lucky Clement had self control otherwise his wolf would have killed her instantly “Excuse me sir, are you Mr. Black?” he turned looking at the barely dressed woman but he was happy she was not ogling at him, like the other one did downstairs. “Yes, I’m here to for the meeting” he answered ignoring his wolf, that kept chanting mate over as over again. “Okay, follow me to the boardroom and Mr. King will be with you in a second” she smiled politely, and hearing Levi’s last name made his wolf relax, their mate was going to come to them. He was anxious, and he couldn’t stop his heart that wanted to leap out of his chest. He waited for five minutes, and he almost signed when his scent of pineapple got stronger, and he could easily hear his light footsteps. He waited anxiously for the door to open, seconds turned to minutes until he heard his light footsteps going away. He was on his feet without even realising it following the man who was again running away from him, but this time he was not going to let him go without an explanation. “Cancel the meeting, and tell them I am sick or something” Clement heard Levi's strained voice, he was shaking, and in a rush to get away, and he wondered why he was running away, he thought they had fixed things when he was in hospital, he had thought Levi forgave him when he took the bullet for him so why was he acting like this? Wondered Clement confused by his behaviour. “You don’t look sick to me” Clement decided it was time for him to answer, and Levi’s back got stiff, Clement felt rejected, did Levi hate him so much that even the sound of his voice made him this uncomfortable? “Then…” Levi tried to answer but when their eyes met it was like the first time they met again, he could easily see the sparkle in his eyes, those green orbs shining in admiration, but it was quickly gone, destroying all his happiness with it. “Then, I have an emergency to attend” Levi answered before running away to his office and Clement walked after him, he didn’t want to scare him, he was hurt that his mate will hate him this much, there were so many questions he still needed to ask, they needed to talk, and like a hunter he needed to take things slowly, and not rush him. Clement stood at the locked door hearing Levi muttering to himself about how stupid he was, he hated when he put himself down like that but him running away, and locking himself up like that made him and his wolf angry. “Are you going to be a baby about it, and hide in your office forever?” he asked looking at woman who was standing looking at what was happening shocked, he could see questions swirling her big hazel eyes. “Its not hiding if it’s working, I have s**t load of work to do, make another appointment with my secretary, and I will attend it. Sorry to waste your time Mr. Black” he could hear the smile in his voice, Levi thought he had won this game but he was wrong this was only the beginning, if he thought he was going to give up this fast then he had another thing coming. “Levi, you can’t hide forever. I can easily break this door but I won’t, I’m going to come back tomorrow, and I also need answers. You owe me that” Clement was fighting not to break the door, he was tired of playing cat and mouse with his mate, but he didn’t want to act like a animal he was. He couldn’t risk loosing him again. He waited for a few seconds for him to answer but when said nothing he left with a heavy heart, leaving him yet again, he felt like a failure if only he could have turned back time, and never rejected him in the first place, but he knew all of this was partially his fault, he was the one who started this by rejecting Levi.
