The Pain Of Love

THE TREE PT. 3

The four were all sitting around, Skylar was rubbing her stomach.

“They did say they would call right?” Hope asked.

“Just give them another hour” Greg said.

“I think we should get some work done” Gloria said.

They all looked at her, today was the third week but Robert had to go back to Huston where he was from and go to court for the custody of his daughter and they were waiting to hear news.

“I think Gloria’s right, why don’t we take turns waiting by the phone while some of us work” Skylar said.

“Okay” they all said.

Skylar went to look at the tree it was almost finish they just needed to add the long painting that Greg and Robert were doing so they already did the frames for the painting, Skylar was looking at to where to put the Crystal’s. She picked up the crystal and began starting from the top and welding it on it and once she was finished with the top she got down and looked at it and nodded her head in satisfaction on where she places them at.

“Looks good” Hope said.

“Thanks” Skylar said.

She was drinking from her water bottle, as they were looking at it, nearly an hour went by Skylar turn and saw Greg by the phone he would stop on his painting and look at the phone every now and then like a flash on when a call is coming through.

“Nothing yet” Hope said.

Skylar sigh out and drank some more of her water, and looked back at the tree, Gloria came over to them.

“Did you check on Lena and Lily?” Hope asked.

“Yeah, their fine teaching a bunch of women on how to plant” Gloria said.

“At least she’s not in the house watching tv all the time” Skylar said.

“Yeah, oh I also watered the plants outside, I was bored” Gloria said.

“Thanks, my mom and I planted that before you guys came, I just can’t wait for it to bloom” Skylar said.

“They are sprouting out” Hope said.

“I saw it this morning when I was watering them” Skylar said.

“Nothing yet?” Gloria asked.

She looked over at Greg who was looking at the phone again, the three girls looked back at the tree again.

“I dig the crystal’s I would love to see how it looks in the sun” Gloria said.

“I bet it would look beautiful” Hope said.

“Yeah, just look at the one I made for my mother outside” Skylar said.

“I saw, but you used a different color for this one” Hope said.

“Okay, we can take it out once it’s finished before we have to pack it into the truck and haul it back to San Antonio” Skylar said.

“Okay, I will let you get back to work” Gloria said.

Skylar nodded her head as she was drinking her water, she then went back to work on the tree putting on the crystals for the second section to the tree in middle of her work the phone rang, and she stop everything. Skylar turn the machine off and got down from the steps and made her way towards the other three, Greg presses the speaker.

“Robert” Greg said.

“We won” Robert said.

The four of them cheered.

“When will you guys come back?” Hope asked.

“We are going to get on the plane this evening, I have to get her stuff” Robert said.

“Send pictures! How old is she?” Skylar asked.

“She’s three and I will” Robert said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“Okay guys were going go, see you guys in the morning” Robert said.

“Okay bye” They all said.

Greg hangs the phone up.

“Oh my gosh, we have to go shopping for her” Gloria said.

“Let’s change” Hope said.

“I’ll stay here for now” Greg said.

The three girls went into the house, they change into their clothes and Skylar told her mother they were going out and into her car as they drove to the shops and began going threw clothes that was there. Gloria help and with the picture that Robert sent them they were able to get the size they wanted for a toddler.

“Should we also get like some luggage for her, so that way when we all go home, she will have something to put her stuff in like toys?” Hope said.

“I think so too also we can get her a backpack as well so that she can carry on and put like coloring book and crayons in” Skylar said.

“Yeah, but has to be small it can’t be big she’s still small” Gloria said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

They went on and bought some more things for the little girl that was coming in the morning, when they were finished, they went to eat out and brought back some food for the people at the house. When they got home, they put the clothes into where Robert was staying at, they also bought a small pink blanket for her as well that she will be sleeping with. Once everything was put away, they all went back into the garage and Skylar went back to putting the crystal on the tree as Gloria went to do some pottery and Hope was doing some heat glass while Greg went to eat. About an hour later Skylar finished the second half as well as the bottom of the tree as well so all she needed to do was Greg and Roberts spot, but she had to wait because they have not put up the last piece of their work yet, so she settles for going back into the house.

“Hey baby” her mother said.

“Hey momma” Skylar said.

“How was your day?” her mother asked.

“Good, Robert and Jacob won the case, so Robert will be bringing his daughter back and we got some clothes for her and toys for her to play with” Skylar said.

“Oh, that’s great. How old is she? What’s her name?” her mother asked.

“She is three years old, and I don’t know her name” Skylar said.

“Well, we would know when they get back” her mother said.

“Yeah, soon we will have the house loud” Skylar said.

“I know long nights, all those dirty dippers” her mother said.

“At least I have your help in case I do something wrong you can stand over my shoulder and say that’s not its Skylar has to be like this” Skylar said.

“I defiantly do that, because baby that’s your baby and I already raised my baby.” Her mother said.

“I know momma” Skylar said.

“I have a feeling you’re doing a good job” her mother said.

“How was it with Lena” Skylar said.

“She is just a cutie pie, and a real helper” her mother said.

“We should go get some sleep” Skylar said.

“Okay baby” her mother said.

They both got up from the couch and went to their rooms, Skylar went towards the bathroom getting in the shower washing off the day, after awhile she got out drying her hair and putting her PJ’s on and went to brush her teeth then she finally laid down and fell asleep. By the next morning Skylar woke up, but she was still tired she yawn out and switch her position and fell back to sleep. Skylar felt the bed dip and she woke up and saw Jacob laid beside her.

“Hey babes” Jacob said.

“Hey” Skylar said sleepy.

“It’s noon” Jacob said.

“I want to sleep more” Skylar said.

“Well, I brought a big Chipotle burrito for you, and a drink as well at least eat first, and I will give you a massage” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head, sitting up as Jacob got the food and gave it to her, she began to eat as Jacob began massaging her feet.

“How was the trip” Skylar said.

“Was good, got they’re on time did my thing won the case got cussed at by the ex but the mother was thanking me. Guess she was disappointed in her daughter but was sad to see her granddaughter to leave” Jacob said.

“Where is she?” Skylar said.

“With your mom and Lena at the greenhouse the others are working in the garage” Jacob said.

“As much as I want to work, I want to sleep more” Skylar said.

“Yeah, well your mother did say you needed your rest in order to gain back your energy, and I agree with her the work will always be there, but little Pea is still growing” Jacob said.

“I know sometimes I forget and then when I see Lena coming or I just remember out of know where and I’m like girl get down and drink some water and take a break” Skylar said.

“Yeah, but babes you have to start thinking use a timer or something” Jacob said.

“I will babes” Skylar said.

Skylar kept eating and talking with Jacob awhile later she was finished.

“You want me to go?” Jacob said.

“No, cuddle with me” Skylar said.

“Okay babes” Jacob said.

Jacob laid down, Skylar hug him around his waist and put her head on his chest, Jacob warps his arm around her and his hand on her arm giving her a kiss on the head.

“Sorry I stop talking to you” Skylar said.

“It’s okay babes, I knew we would talk again one day and start where we left off” Jacob said.

“I should’ve believed you when you told me she was bad” Skylar said.

“Only took you six years” Jacob said.

Skylar chuckled and squeezed him closer to her.

“Did it hurt when you realized when you saw her true face?” Jacob asked.

“No, what hurt was knowing that someone I knew all my life I just let go without evening looking at the facts that was right in my face” Skylar said.

“Although it broke your heart, I know you don’t want to talk about it know but just know I’ll listen and won’t judge” Jacob said.

“Of course, you won’t judge you’ll get mad but never judge” Skylar said.

“Get some sleep baby” Jacob said.

“I will, can you run your hand threw my hair” Skylar said.

“Sure babes” Jacob said.

Jacob was doing what Skylar asked, soon Skylar fell asleep again, Jacob looked at her and wanted to know what happened in New York, he had been keeping tabs on her since her debut in the modeling world. Jacob waited till Skylar full fell asleep when he wanted to move but Skylar tighten her hold on him so instead, he decided to take a nap with her instead. Jacob woke up, and Skylar was still cuddling him, he took his phone out he was happy that he left it on silent he looked through saw some messages from work and Jake.

“Hey Jake” Jacob whispers out.

“Where you at? And why are you whispering?” Jake said.

“Skylar is still sleeping she wanted a cuddle buddy. Can you get us some pizza and wings with pink lemonade oh and she likes wild n’ reckless from basket and robins” Jacob said.

“Okay” Jake said.

“And be quite when you come in, also she likes extra olives on her pizza and make sure it’s half” Jacob said.

“Okay then” Jake said.

Jacob hangs up the phone and looked at the time it was five in the evening, so he went over his messages from work about a few more minutes later he got a text from Jake that he was coming now so Jacob woke Skylar up.

“Babes wake up time to eat” Jacob said.

Skylar hummed and came closer to Jacob.

“Babes come on pizza and wings” Jacob said.

Skylar yawn and stretch out, she sat up on the bed.

“Where’s the food?” Skylar asked.

“Here drinks some water first” Jacob said.

Jacob handed her the water jug; Skylar drank water when there was a knock on the door.

“Come in Jake” Jacob said.

Jake came into the room, with the food.

“Hey sleepy heads” Jake said.

“Hey Jake” Skylar said.

“Hey” Jake said.

He places the food down for them.

“Here you go, and I will see you guys later” Jake said.

“Thanks bro” Jacob said.

“Thanks Jake” Skylar said.

Skylar open the pizza box, and wings.

“This looks so good, thanks for the extra olives” Skylar said.

“I remember” Jacob said.

“Movie time?” Skylar said.

“Yeah” Jacob said.

Since Skylar did not have a tv in her room so Jacob had to use his phone and played a movie as they had their pizza and wings.

“Is that basket n’ robins?” Skylar asked.

“Yes, your wild n reckless sherbet” Jacob said.

“Awe thank you” Skylar said.

“All for our hungry little Pea” Jacob said.

Jacob took the ice cream and place it on the pizza box with two spoons.

“What I want to know is have you ever model with any actors” Jacob said.

“No, with other famous models’ men and female but haven’t with actors” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

They began to eat again; they were done eating Skylar lean back as she was eating the ice cream as she was laying back against the bed post.

“This is so good” Skylar said.

“I know you and baby have good taste” Jacob said.

“I know good job Pea” Skylar said.

“Are you still sleepy?” Jacob said.

“A bit but after a hot bath, I would go back to sleep” Skylar said.

“I’ll get that ready for you, do you want some more massage and cuddles?” Jacob said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

Jacob got up from the bed and went into the bathroom, Skylar can hear the water going she finished the ice cream now she felt sticky, and she cleaned up the bed grab her PJs as Jacob came out of the bathroom.

“Your all set” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar took her clothes and went into the bathroom taking her clothes off she steps her foot in the warm soon she laid in the tub she laid there for a while relaxing her body, and she sink in the tub and got out her hair got wet. She began wiping her body and then began laid back again she just relaxes in the tub she started to feel sleepy again, so she got up and raise her body off in the shower then dried her body putting on her clothes then brush her teeth. Skylar dried her hair before going out but kept it damp or she would be hot when she was finished and begin to sweat again so she left it like that and went out of the bathroom.

“I got myself extra clothes” Jacob said.

“Okay, extra towels in the closet in there” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

Skylar went to lotion her body as Jacob went into the bathroom and the shower was on, Skylar checked her phone there was a few messages from Ethan about when they would finish and if so, he would like to see if before they can ship to the gallery. So, Skylar message him back and explain they just need one more week before they could finish and then he can come over and explain the cook-out that they will be having as well.

“Hey babes what are you doing?” Jacob said.

“Just a message from Ethan wanting to know when we will be finish” Skylar said.

“Oh, yeah.” Jacob said.

“Massage time” Skylar said.

“Massage time” Jacob said.

Skylar laid down as Jacob started on her feet.

“So? What’s up with you two?” Skylar asked.

“Just friends for now” Jacob said.

“No s*x? Boo!” Skylar said.

“How can there be s*x when I am you and your mother chuffer?” Jacob said.

“Taww sorry babes, why not just go there for the weekend? Oh, he will be coming so you two get down” Skylar said as she wiggles her brows.

“Babes you are bad” Jacob said.

“I know babe” Skylar smiled.

“So, names? Have you thought about it yet?” Jacob said.

“Well, don’t be mad but I want to keep it Williams” Skylar said.

“I’m cool with it, but I was talking about first names” Jacob said.

“If a boy I want it to be after my dad Henry” Skylar said.

“I like that name, what about a girl?” Jacob said.

“I want to keep like a flower like my mom but not Rosy, so what do you think?” Skylar asked.

“Daisy, Lavender, Delilah, Sunny for sunflower, uh I ran out” Jacob said.

“What about Carly?” Skylar said.

“Nah, I’m thinking Evelynn” Jacob said.

“Oooh, I like that Evelynn” Skylar said.

“Then Evelynn and Henry Williams” Jacob said.

“Then it’s set” Skylar said.

“More cuddles now?” Jacob said.

“Yeah, getting tired again” Skylar said.

They both laid down as how they laid in the afternoon it did not take long for Skylar to fall asleep again, Jacob took him awhile he had a bit on his mind about the conversation they had but finally after awhile he was able to fall asleep. When Skylar woke up it was noon, she felt a bust of energy, however Jacob was not there when she woke up but left a note saying that he went to work, and he would see her in the evening. Skylar got ready for the day and went downstairs nobody was in the house, so she went to the fridge and found some chicken salad, so she had that with some yogurt and fruits and lots of water. When she was finished eating, she went into the garage where everybody was at.

“Looks whose finally awake” Robert said.

“Hey” Skylar said.

She gave Robert a hug.

“How’s the little one?” Robert said.

“Made me sleep for so long now I feel energize and ready to work” Skylar said.

“I bet, well Heather is with your mother and Lena at the greenhouse and the girls are finishing up the glass for the painting” Robert said.

“Okay, so we just need to put it on the tree now” Skylar said.

“We will be able to put it up in the evening right now the glass is almost finished” Greg said.

“Okay, so just chill till evening?” Skylar said.

“Yeah” Robert said.

“Okay, I’ll be in the house just call me if you’re ready” Skylar said.

Robert nodded his head, as Skylar went back into the house went straight to the kitchen, she felt hungry again, made herself some fruit smoothie grab her water sitting on the couch and turn the tv on as she flips through the channels. Skylar did not know she fell asleep when she woke up with a thin blanket up on her, she got up as the garage door open and Robert came in.

“Man, you were out, snoring away” Robert said.

“I didn’t know I fell asleep” Skylar yawn out.

“Well, were finished if you want to get started” Robert said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

Skylar stretch out and followed Robert into the garage.

“Hey sleepy head” Gloria said.

“Didn’t you sleep for a day and half?” Hope said.

“I guess I was still tired” Skylar said.

“Let’s see the bump they say the baby grows the longer you sleep” Greg said.

“That’s when they are born” Gloria said.

“Alright let’s just put the painting on” Skylar said.

Skylar, put on her welding equipment and she also gave two to the boys since they will be holding up the painting for her, they both will be on her sides while the two girls hold the back to keep it steady. They were about halfway when Jacob came back from work, so he left again to get some food from the store to cook for dinner, they took a break had some water and went back to work again.

“Okay ladies you can go but you guys switch with them while holding the painting still so it wont look sideways, some of them is still cooling” Skylar said.

The guys went to switch places with the girls and Skylar began to weld again, about an hour later they were finished, and Jacob came in to till them to eat, Skylar cleaned up taking her stuff off as Jacob helped her hanging them back up.

“Just leave it right there, I want to do more after dinner” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

They both went inside Skylar was still drinking her water, she was able to meet Heather.

“She’s so cute Robert” Skylar said.

“Thanks Sky” Robert said.

The ladies made BBQ Chicken, mac n cheese, salad, and cake. They talked and ate their dinner when they were finished Robert and Greg cleaned up as Skylr and Jacob went into the garage while the four ladies were in the living room watching the kids.

“Just hand me the crystals but make sure your all button up” Skylar said.

“You don’t need the ladder?” Jacob said.

“No, just the step up that’s it” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

“Let’s begin” Skylar said.

Skylar put on her welding clothing so did Jacob, they started on the top first then slowly made there way down, many breaks and hours later they were finished.

“Woah! I like it” Jacob said.

“I know, now I’m hungry again” Skylar said.

“Well let’s go get something to eat” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head, she turned everything off and place everything away before they got into Jacob’s car, they drove into town looking for a fast-food place that was open 24 hours and were able to find a burger place.

“Sorry, I’m going to eat” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

Skylar began eating as Jacob drove back to the house by the time Skylar was finished eating, they got home.

“Seems like some are still up” Jacob said.

“They probably just left the light on for us” Skylar said.

They got down from the car and went inside the house, and Skylar was right they just left the light on for them, so they turn the light off as they went up to Skylar’s room.

“You want to shower first?” Jacob said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

Skylar grabbed her clothes and went into the restroom and took a quick shower and got back out then Jacob went in, Skylar was dried her hair when Jacob came out of the bathroom, she laid on the bed.

“Your bump is getting a bit bigger” Jacob said.

Skylar looked down at her stomach, her bump was showing from her shirt she places her hand on it slowly rubbing it.

“Pea is growing fast” Skylar said.

Jacob smile laid down by her and rub her belly too.

“Camp out this weekend, we need to buy some camping stuff” Skylar said.

“Yeah, and some snacks. Glad tomorrow is Friday” Jacob said.

“Are you working today?” Skylar asked.

“Just half a day” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head and began to cuddle against Jacob, and he let her, he ran his hand through her hair until she fell asleep, later Jacob kissed her head and soon fell asleep too.
