THE TREE PT. 2

“Sky-Bear you ready?” Jacob said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

“We can’t reschedule again” Jacob said.

“I’m almost ready Pooh-Bear” Skylar said.

She had to reschedule her baby appointment because they got so busy with the tree so far hers and Hope’s work is up, they just started on Robert’s section, they would finish up the other work and all Skylar need to do was weld it to the tree.

“Let’s go” Skylar said.

Jacob opens the door for Skylar as they got in the ride and drove to the hospital.

“Why do I feel so hot” Skylar said.

“The baby books said that you will be expecting more body changes and your hormones will be on high” Jacob said.

“Jeez I haven’t even start on the books yet maybe during weekends” Skylar said.

“Do it I finished the second book yesterday” Jacob said.

“Really when do you ready?” Skylar said.

“On lunch breaks” Jacob said.

“Okay, let me read some now” Skylar said.

Skylar took out the book and began reading as Jacob kept driving, they arrive at the hospital as they got down Jacob had to hold Skylar close to her since she was busy reading the book.

“This is so interesting” Skylar said.

“Babe were here” Jacob said.

Skylar looked up and they were in the gynecologist wing, so they went up to the front desk.

“Hello how may I help you” the lady asked.

“Appointment for Skylar Williams” Skylar said.

“Okay you may take a seat and will be called shortly” the woman said.

Skylar nodded her head as Jacob sat beside her as she kept reading the book, about thirty minutes later Skylar was called in the back she got up on the bed and sat there.

“We get to hear the heartbeat, right?” Skylar said.

“Yes, and the due date along with when we can ask the s*x” Jacob said.

“You hear that Pea; we can hear your heart go bump bump” Skylar said.

“Yeah, very soon we will see you” Jacob said.

There was a knock on the door and Dr. Beckham.

“Hello again” Dr. Beckham said.

“Hello” Skylar said.

“So, a reschedule we never really try to do that because it is important that we have to check the baby and make sure they are growing well. And especially your cause your mother had cancer, but you do not we just want to make sure your baby did not get the genes as well, so these appointments are really important so no more rescheduling” Dr. Beckham said.

“Okay, sorry Dr. Beckham I didn’t know that” Skylar said.

“It’s fine that what we were going to talk about in the first appointment and now we can. So, what we want is to keep a close eye just to make sure the child is cancer free and growing healthy. And I know this is scary but when the baby is a few more months older we would like to do a blood test and see if the child has the genetics or not” Dr. Beckham said.

“What is the risk?” Skylar said.

Skylar grab Jacob hand, Jacob stood and hugged her to the side.

“Earlier birth or miscarriage” Dr. Beckham said.

Skylar sucked in a breath and began to hyperventilate, the Dr. Beckham stood up and got her an air mask and put it over her face.

“Take deep breaths” Dr. Beckham said.

Skylar taking deep breaths trying to calm her down a few moments later she was calm now so Dr. Beckham. Gave her some water for Skylar to drink.

“I know it’s a lot to take in, but we would like to know, if you don’t want to, we can just wait until the baby is born but we would have to keep a close eye on you through out this pregnancy” Dr. Beckham said.

“What happens if we wait until the baby is born?” Skylar said.

“Then we would have to wait if the baby does have cancer, we would need to look for it and treat it. However, if we were gotten to get the blood test early the faster, we know so that when the baby is born, we can do a quick surgery on it. This early blood test well also let us know if the child does or doesn’t have it” Dr. Beckham said.

“Can we at least think about it?” Skylar said.

“Sure, let me anytime during our appointment, for now try not to stress so much about it” Dr. Beckham said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“For now, let’s check the baby and hear the heartbeat” Dr. Beckham said.

Skylar nodded her head, Jacob helped her lay her back and lift her shirt as the Doctor put the gel on her and began looking at the screen, Skylar looked over as well.

“Okay there is the baby” Dr. Beckham said.

She pointed to the bean like baby that was a bit bigger than the photo that she has, soon she hears whooshing sound.

“That’s the baby’s heartbeat” Dr. Beckham said.

Skylar was crying as she heard the heartbeat, the doctor left the room giving them some time alone.

“Sky” Jacob said.

“What if the baby has it, I can’t stop thinking about it now” Skylar said.

“Babes you can’t stress on this now, for now just think of the baby and the heartbeat and is healthy” Jacob said.

“I know, I just fell in love with the baby” Skylar said.

“And I did too Sky, so just be strong think good thoughts” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said in a cracked voice.

Jacob hugged her until she stops crying, Jacob chuckled out.

“Got your baby gel on my suit” Jacob said.

Skylar laughed wiping her face.

“I’m sorry” Skylar chuckled.

“Cheer up babes, come one let’s get you cleaned up” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head; Jacob gave her some paper towels as she wipe her stomach and went towards the restroom and wash her face a bit then came back out of the restroom and sat down on the bed.

“I’ll get the doctor for us” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head; Jacob went out of the room as Skylar rub her belly.

“It’s going to be okay baby; you’re going to be fine live long and healthy with mommy and daddy” Skylar said.

The doors open and Jacob came back in with the doctor, Skylar sat up a bit and Jacob stood beside her.

“So, I looked over the video cutting everything down so far no cancer sighting the baby is healthy and strong and make sure you keep up with your medications no over stressing drink lots of fluids take some walks or exercise you do to relieve the stress” Dr. Beckham said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“And I will see you the end of next month” Dr. Beckham said.

Skylar nodded her head as the doctor left, not before giving her the ultrasound pictures.

“Let’s go babes” Jacob said.

“Can we get basket n robins to cheer us up” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

They both left the hospital and drove into town.

“I want Caramel Macho iced really bad right now, but I also want the wild n’ reckless sherbet ice cream at least triple scoop” Skylar said.

“What about a refresher?” Jacob said.

“Why not, let me text the others and see what they want” Skylar said.

“And for lunch as well” Jacob said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

She sent out a group chat and then called her mother they wanted Chinese food from the actual restaurant, and they also order some coffee and refreshers from Starbucks.

“I am getting kind of hungry too” Skylar said.

“So, which is first?” Jacob said.

“Ice cream so I can wait while we order the food” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

They went to get some ice cream first, Skylar got the triple scoops once she got it, she began eating it like crazy, next they went to the Chinese restaurant ordered some food after they went to Starbucks ordering drinks. Finally, they were able to go back to the house when they got back Greg and the others came out of the garage.

“Need help” Greg said.

“Yeah thanks” Skylar said.

They came overtake the food.

“I got some ice cream for dessert” Skylar said.

“Yay” Hope said.

They all went into the house, Skylar called out to her mother as they sat around the table and began taking their food out.

“So? What did they say?” Lily said.

Skylar looked at Jacob.

“That the baby is healthy and growing well the heartbeat is strong” Skylar said.

“Anything else?” Lily said.

Skylar smiled and shook her head, and began eating again, Lily looked at Skylar then at Jacob, Jacob gave her a small smile, so Lily just nodded her head.

“I was thinking, after were done eating we could go cool off in the river out back” Robert said.

“Sounds like a good idea” Greg said.

They talked a bit as they ate, once they changed into swim wear and went out of the house Skylar laid on the couch wanting to take a nap her mother sat down by her head and ran her hand threw her hair giving it massage.

“Tell me what the doctor really said” Lily said.

“They want to do a blood test on the baby when it’s a few months bigger to see if it has the cancer genes” Skylar said.

“And?” Lily said.

“Risk are early birth or miscarriage” Skylar said.

“Oh, baby you can’t stress about this you still have a few months to think about it for now just relax think on good thoughts and pray that the baby will be okay” her mother said.

“I will” Skylar said.

“Now take a nap, while I clean up the kitchen” her mother said.

Skylar nodded her head and laid back down she yawns out and laid down, as her mother softly ran her hand through her hair until she fell asleep. Skylar woke up in the evening when she smelled food she stretches out while yawning.

“Like a cat” Greg said.

Skylar slowly sat up as Greg came over with water in his hand and gave it to her.

“Thank you” Skylar said.

“We are making, actually I don’t know what their making. We were just told to stay out of the kitchen” Greg said.

“By whom?” Skylar said.

“The three ladies” Greg said.

“Did they say what they were making?” Skylar said.

“Don’t know” Greg said.

“Well, I’m hungry so” Skylar said.

“Okay” Greg said.

Skylar stood up and made her way to the kitchen where she heard laughing and talking.

“Hey baby” her mother said.

“Hey momma, hungry” Skylar said.

“Well eat some of this salad for now, the food is almost finish” her mother said.

“What are you making?” Skylar said.

“Italian and French food” her mother said.

“Your mother found the recipe online and she wanted to give it a try” Gloria said.

“And I am great at making French bread” Hope said.

“Well, as a pregnant woman it smells amazing” Skylar said.

“Thank you dear.” Her mother said.

“I made the salad I tried the Olive Garden theme salad” Hope said.

“Oh my god so good, it’s weird I been craving salad a lot lately” Skylar said.

“What else have you been craving?” Gloria said.

“Meat any kind, Salad don’t matter, ice cream, coffee but stick to refresher, and let’s see umm big breakfast like with everything from waffles to pancakes to sausage and bacon, scramble eggs toast and orange juice, hash browns and oatmeal fruits” Skylar said.

“Oh wow, when I was pregnant with Lena morning sickness like crazy, ugh and Mexican food like crazy. I think it was because her father is Mexican but a lot of those and it had to be spicy like mouth watering spicy and I would drink lots and lots of water” Gloria said.

“You know I had almost the same experience with Skylar only she would want the taco bell burrito I don’t know why but I would have to buy those sauce packets with fire on it and man I would eat that like crazy and for dessert would be smoothies any kind of smoothie” her mother said.

“Well, I prefer ice cream” Skylar said.

“My dessert was fried anything ice cream, fruits, just they had to be fried” Gloria said.

“I just want ice cream from basket n robins the rock n roll sherbet” Skylar said.

“Oh my god! That is my favorite” Hope said.

“I for one can’t wait to see Hope having a baby” Gloria said.

“Ladies don’t jinx her” Lily said.

They started laughing finally they were finished cooking dinner as the three guys came into the dining hall.

“This smell so good” Greg said.

“Yeah, you ladies did a really good job” Jacob said.

“Can we dig in now?” Robert asked.

“Let’s eat” Lily said.

They began to eat their dinner taking out food and they each enjoyed the food.

“I want some more salad” Skylar said.

“Here baby” her mother said.

“The soup is just wow” Robert said.

“Thanks” Gloria said.

“Gloria did the soup, Hope did the salad and bread, and I did the pasta” Lily said.

“Well, you all did a wonderful job” Skylar said.

“Thank you, baby,” her mother said.

They ate for a bit and talked Skylar found out that they finished everything all they needed to do now was put it in place on the tree, they just needed to put the top glass on the painting closing it,

“What I want to know is the pottery are we not going to put it in the glass?” Robert said.

“No, we can leave that out sometimes clients use the pottery as flower vase and that’s why we always add the primer to it so that way the coloring on the pottery won’t come off” Hope said.

“Yes, it’s just the paint canvases that we need to worry about” Skylar said.

“Oh, okay I was just wondering that’s all” Robert said.

“Okay, guys enough work talks what about the celebration when the collage is over?” Lily asked.

“We were thinking about a camp out in the back although it maybe two kids at least they will be able to experience camping” Greg said.

“I think that is a wonderful idea sleeping out in the stars” Lily said.

“Great it’s settled then” Skylar said.

They went back to eating their dinner, after they were finished Skylar was still tired, but she wanted to get in a few works in before bedtime just an hour.

“How far did you all get too?” Skylar asked.

“We just need to do a few more because and about five big ones because we thought it would be nice if we did that” Greg said.

“Yeah, but it would be too much because we would need to find away to make room for just that big piece” Skylar said.

“How so?” Robert asked.

They followed Skylar to the tree.

“If we, where we would need to move this whole piece on each section and as you look at the bottom, the painting would be dragging and the top it would just look ugly” Skylar said.

“I see you point” Gloria said.

“Okay what about just one long piece going around the middle between Greg and Robert” Hope said.

“Then they would be the one creating the piece together since it would be their spot” Skylar said.

“What do you think guys?” Gloria asked.

“I don’t mind. Greg?” Robert said.

“Sure, man let’s brainstorm” Greg said.

“I think I am just going to lay down” Skylar said.

“Yeah, you look tired. It’s best to get much sleep” Gloria said.

“Alright thanks guys” Skylar said.

They all said goodnight to Skylar, she went back into the house.

“What’s up babe?” Jacob asked.

“Sleepy, need a nice bath and massage” Skylar said.

“Okay, you sit down have some water while I go get it ready for you” Jacob said.

“Thanks, Pooh-Bear” Skylar said.

Jacob smiled and kissed her head and left up to Skylar’s room and Skylar went to sit on the couch sitting down and flipping through the channel while she was drinking some water, her mother already went to her room, so it was just herself. A few moments later Skylar began nodding off luck for her Jacob came back down from her room.

“Okay everything is ready go take a bath” Jacob said.

Skylar smiled and got up from the couch and went to her room, inside the master bath there was a tub full of bubble water, so she strips down and got into the warm water its sooth her and relax her muscles. The smell of candles also filled the bathroom as well, Skylar slowly wipe her body as she enjoys the warm bath after awhile the water was getting cold, so she got out and rise her body in the shower. As Skylar came out of the restroom with her robe on drying her hair, she saw her clothes on the bed, she smiled and put them on, Jacob knocked on the door.

“Come in” Skylar said.

“Hey, found some lavender oil my mom uses for massage, but she said not to use to much” Jacob said.

“Wait take a picture first, my first baby bump” Skylar said.

Jacob nodded his head; Skylar lift her shirt up a bit and there was a tiny bump.

“Turn to the side” Jacob said.

Skylar turn as she place her hand under her small bump and smiled, Jacob took the picture.

“Beautiful” Jacob said.

“Years of modeling babe” Skylar said.

“And I can see why photographer wants to work with you” Jacob said.

“Massage time?” Skylar said.

“Yes” Jacob said.

Skylar laid on the bed.

“Feet first” Skylar said.

“Of course,” Jacob said.

Jacob massage Skylar soon she fell asleep, Jacob places the sheet on her while putting the pregnancy pillow beside her as well just in case, Jacob could not help but smile as she was making small snores, he kneels kissing her belly.

“Night baby Pea, Night Sky-Bear” Jacob whispered.

Jacob got up slowly and walks out the room slowly closing the door as he made his way back to his house, he still had work in the morning, and he was going over Robert’s custody case for him into getting his daughter back.
