Skylar and Jacob entered San Antonio at eight closes to nine in the morning.

“Wait we have to go to the baby store first and flower shop” Skylar said.

“What you going to get?” Jacob asked.

“A onesie that say hello grandma, and I will put the ultrasound picture with it” Skylar said.

“Okay” Jacob said.

They went to a baby store first took them awhile before they were able to find it and got a box to go with it, next they went to the flower shop and got her mother’s favorite flowers, and they finally went to the hospital.

“I’m excited and nervous at the same time” Skylar said.

“She will be happy” Jacob said.

“Thanks” Skylar said.

“For what?” Jacob said.

“Being there” Skylar said.

“Always Sky-Bear” Jacob said.

Skylar smiled at him and the elevator made it to the floor, she was taking deep breaths as she went to her mother’s room and knock on the door and went inside her mother was packing her things.

“Mom” Skylar said.

“Hey baby” her mother said.

Skylar hugged her mother and gave her the flowers.

“Flowers for the pretty mommy” Skylar said.

“They are beautiful baby” her mother said.

“You ready for the pre gift?” Skylar said.

“Give me, give me” her mother said.

Skylar handed her the box, her mother sat down, and Skylar sat beside her as she opens the box and gasp out.

“No way” her mother said.

Lilly looked at Skylar.

“You’re going to be a grandma” Skylar said.

“My baby is going to be a momma” her mother said.

Skylar chuckled out and hug her mom.

“So? How?” her mother said.

“Yeah, remember when Jacob took me out the night” Skylar said.

“Jacob Ackerman” her mother said.

Jacob chuckle and gave Lilly a hug.

“I will go see about your release papers” Skylar said.

“Okay baby” her mother said.

Skylar went out of the room, and Lilly slap Jacob arm.

“Ow” Jacob said.

“Jacob Ackerman how could you lie to her we both know you’re a gay man that like men how can you get her pregnant” Lilly said.

“She thinks it’s mine, and if she knew the truth it would break her” Jacob said.

“Bless your heart Jacob Ackerman, does your parents know?” Lilly asked.

“Yeah, I told them when we found out I just told them not to tell her and just play along for now, until I tell her” Jacob said.

“Good choice, she won’t handle it now, but you are a blessing Jacob Ackerman” Lilly said.

“Okay we are set” Skylar said.

“Let’s go” her mother said.

Skylar chuckled as she helps her mother and Jacob grab the bags as they made their way out of the hospital towards the car, her mother saw the ride and like it, it was easy for her to get in without help.

“This is nice” her mother said.

“I know right” Skylar said.

“Somewhere fancy to eat?” Jacob said.

“Yes, I could eat” her mother said.

Jacob drove to a restaurant as they all sat down and ate, they agreed on taking the long way home and sight see so Skylar was happy she had brought her camera with her after they ate, they went on going towards I-10 west. All the way back they would stop at random places and took pictures stop at places to grab foods and drinks they finally made it back by eight at night.

“You can look at your second gift in the morning” Skylar said.

“Okay, I am beat need some sleep and so do you and my grandbaby” her mother said.

“Okay go gets some sleep” Skylar said.

Skylar said her goodnight to Jacob as she went upstairs took a shower, before going to bed she wanted one of those pregnancy pillows, so she ordered it and did the fastest shipping when finished she laid down and went to sleep. The next morning Skylar woke up and check the time it was eight this was her first time sleeping in so she got up and put a robe on and went downstairs she can smell food coming from the kitchen, she went in and saw her mother.

“Morning momma” Skylar said.

“Morning baby, you sleep good?” her mother said.

“Yes, was a bit hot as usual but slept through it” Skylar said.

“Why not adjust the A/C” her mother said.

“If I, do you would get cold” Skylar said.

“I will be fine” her mother said.

“Okay, what’s for breakfast?” Skylar asked.

“We have pancakes, sausage patties, scramble eggs, toast with avocados and tomatoes on it and bowl of fruits with orange juice for you no coffee” her mother said.

“You fatten me up mom?” Skylar said.

“No, I fatten up my grandbaby” her mother said.

Skylar chuckled out and began eating the food.

“Wow my grandbaby must be hungry” her mother said.

“We both are missed your cooking” Skylar said.

“What have you been eating?” her mother asked.

“Take out, but Mrs. Ackerman did cook for me once and when I was waiting for food, I made myself fruit smoothie” Skylar said.

“Skylar Williams” her mother said.

“I’m sorry, besides, I didn’t know I was pregnant until a few days ago” Skylar said.

“How did you find out?” her mother said.

Skylar stuff her mouth with food and her mother was looking at her, she passed the orange juice to her and Skylar drank some of the juice and was about to eat again when her mother held her hand.

“Answer me” her mother said.

“I fainted due to exhaustion” Skylar said.

“Skylar Williams!” her mother yelled.

“I’m sorry but when I start working, I forget about the world and sometimes I forget to get rest” Skylar said.

“Do I need to pull you away for lunch and dinner now?” her mother asked.

“No, Jacob calls and reminds me” Skylar said.

“Well, I am here as well now too, beside the doctor said I need to start walking more and exercise” her mother said.

“Oh, we can take walks after dinner” Skylar said.

“Okay don’t you need to get to work?” her mother said.

“Yes, but first let me show you the art for you or should I have wait till Jake and his friends can take it out up front for you” Skylar said.

“Out front would be nice” her mother said.

“Okay, can I have a few more please” Skylar said.

“Of course, baby” her mother said.

Skylar had a few more of everything before going upstairs and took a shower, she grabs some overalls and a crop top she still was not showing yet so she could wear them she also had to put on sneakers and tie her hair up in a messy bun. She grabs her phone and goes into the garage and open it up, she called Jake.

“Hey, Sky what do you need?’ Jake asked.

“I need you guys to take a welding piece out for me and place it in front of the house for me” Skylar said.

“Okay give us an hour” Jake said.

“Okay thanks Jake” Skylar said.

“No problem” Jake said.

Skylar hung the phone up and started on her painting that she had to finish up but first she set up her camera on her tripod she thought she would start doing a baby photo of herself once a week every Friday. Skylar then got her paint ready once all her paint was mixed, she set the timer on the camera and began to paint once the camera click, she went to reset it again and begin to paint again next the click went off. She then just started to paint an hour later she was finished as Jake and his friends came into the garage.

“Hey guys” Skylar said.

“Hey Skylar” the guys said.

“So where do you want it?” Jake said.

Skylar went out of the garage and looked around the front yard.

“Let’s try right here” Skylar said.

“Okay, this would add on” Jake said.

“Yes, nine” Skylar said.

Skylar showed them where to lift it.

“Geez this is heavy” Elliot said.

“What? Can’t be that heavy I used less metal” Skylar said.

“The bottom is heavy Sky not the tope” Jason said.

“Come on you guys are football players you supposed to lift anything” Skylar said.

“Come on wimps” Samuel said.

The guys lift it and Skylar showed them where to place it, a few moments later they placed it where she wanted and thanked them as Skylar went into the house.

“Mom” Skylar said.

“Yeah, baby” her mother said.

“You want to see it?” Skylar asked.

“Yes” her mother said.

Skylar took her mother’s hand and covered her eyes.

“What are you doing?” her mother said.

“Fine, close your eyes” Skylar said.

Her mother closed her eyes, and Skylar helped her out of the house and place her in front of her work.

“Okay open” Skylar said.

Her mother opens her eyes and let out a gasp the metal was sliver the heat glass was white and looked like they were water drops the melted hands made it go from dark to like from the bottom to top. There was a wire going down the middle that was holding the flower in the air, so Skylar went towards it and gave it a small spin the sun hit the heat glass, and made it shine on them different rainbow colors showed.

“Baby this is so beautiful” her mother said.

“I knew you would love it” Skylar said.

“Now can I see your other work” her mother said.

“Of course, come on it’s in the garage” Skylar said.

Skylar took her mother into the garage.

“I just finish this peace today” Skylar said.

Her mother was looking at the painting, and Skylar took out a few more paintings that she must send to San Antonio.

“I haven’t done any pictures yet, but I did do some heat glasses which is upstairs as well as my latest pottery that I mail back from New York.” Skylar said.

“Let’s go up” her mother said.

Skylar took her up to the second room, where she looked at the work she had done, her mother like the work she had done and wanted to keep on of the heat glass and pottery that she made which she let her and the rest she would take to San Antonio.

“I will let you get back to work” her mother said.

“It’s lunch time now” Skylar said.

“Then let’s go eat some salad, I made some” her mother said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

They went inside, Skylar pour themselves juice while her mother took the salad out of the fridge and place the bowl down, Skylar got cups and plates while her mother got the forks out and they began eating.

“You are getting good at the chicken salad” Skylar said.

“Those cooking shows are paying off” her mother said.

“They sure are” Skylar said.

“When’s your next appointment” her mother said.

“At the end of the month” Skylar said.

“Okay, I think I have an appointment then too” her mother said.

“That reminds me the gallery has a party to introduce me next weekend and I have a plus one and do you want to come with me” Skylar said.

“Okay, but I thought you were going to take Jacob with you” her mother said.

“I don’t think he would want to see my boss” Skylar said.

“Why is that?” her mother asked.

“My boss Ethan Beckerman is his ex-boyfriend, and I don’t want to make it an awkward” Skylar said.

“Oh, okay then at least let him drive us” her mother said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

“No get you butt back out there and work” her mother said.

“Fine” Skylar said.

Skylar went back into the garage and went upstairs to do some heat glasses for awhile then she started doing some pottery work after she was done; she did the design and took it outside and started the fire once she tests the heat, she checked it and place the pottery in the stove and closed it. Skylar then set the timer on her phone and went back inside and checked on the heat glass that she made so she wanted to do another small one but made it like a small crystal chandler. Skylar stood up and check the timer it would turn off soon, so she went out the room and made her way towards the pottery stove grabbing her gear with her putting it on and when the timer went off, she took it out and place it on the side of racks that was built she place it on there.

“Skylar”

Skylar looked up and saw Avery, walking towards her.

“Hey, Avery” Skylar said.

“I came to do a measurement of where you want the greenhouse” Avery said.

“Oh, well you can follow me” Skylar said.

“I saw the big metal flower up front was that your work?” Avery said.

“Yeah, it’s a welcome home gift for my mom” Skylar said.

“I like it looks good” Avery said.

“Thanks, it was the fastest piece I ever made” Skylar said.

“What other have you done?” Avery said.

“I just finished a pottery and some heat glass, and painting” Skylar said.

“Nice, well let me finish this dad needs it we will be starting in two days” Avery said.

“Okay, I’ll be in the garage” Skylar said.

Skylar left Avery to do his work and went back towards the garage, taking the painting down and putting it on the side and putting up another one but bigger, she thought about what to paint she felt happy today, so she got bright colors out. About thirty minutes went by and Avery came into the garage and saw that Skylar was into doing her work, so he looked around at the paintings on the floor. Skylar was getting tired so she stops and place everything down, and saw Avery was looking at the paintings, and went to the small facet was at and washed her brushes and the palate and place them away.

“Do you like it?” Skylar asked.

“Yeah, you have gotten really good” Avery said.

“Thanks, I can show you the others or do you have to go back to work?” Skylar said.

“I don’t mind, I still have time” Avery said.

“Okay” Skylar said.

Skylar took Avery upstairs and show him what she had finished, he looked through them and Skylar talked about each one and what she felt and thought about when she was making it and how she just thinks about what she wants and just making it happen.

“These are all amazing Skylar” Avery said.

“Thanks, I do my best and show my feelings through my work” Skylar said.

“It’s nice I like it” Avery said.

“Thanks, would you like one?” Skylar said.

“You sure?” Avery said.

“Yeah” Skylar said.

“Give me a moment” Avery said.

Avery looked around the second floor then, they both went back down to the garage and looked at the paintings again and looked at the one that she just finished.

“I like this one” Avery said.

“Good choice I just finished that one” Skylar said.

Skylar went to go get a brown cloth covered it and put the rope around it, so the cover will not fall.

“I can take it in, and I will see you in two days” Avery said.

“Okay see you later then” Skylar said.

“See you” Avery said.

Avery left and Skylar went back inside the house her mother was watching a cooking show.

“What did Avery need?” her mother asked.

“Measurements they will start on the greenhouse in two days” Skylar said.

“Neat, what do you want for dinner?” her mother said.

“I will check the kitchen” Skylar said.

Skylar went towards the and looked around se wanted some meat, so she found hotdogs and burger patty.

“What about hotdogs and burgers can make homemade fries” Skylar said.

“I can make salad and the fries” her mother said.

“Do you want your buns to be grilled?” Skylar said.

“Yes” her mother said.

“Okay, got make extra I am pretty hungry” Skylar said.

They both began cooking dinner, Skylar grilled the hotdogs and burgers outside, while they were grilling, she grabs the buns for it and took them out, her mother mixed the salad first and then started on the fries peeling some potatoes putting them in the air fryer. Skylar brought the hotdogs and burgers back in along with the buns and set them down and made the veggies for the burger and place them on the side. Once they were finished, they place everything and they grab some drinks and sat down to begin to eat, there was a ring at the door.

“Come in” Skylar said.

Jacob came into the house.

“Hey Jacob” Skylar said.

“You know you don’t have to ring the bell, you hungry” Skylar’s mother said.

“Yes” Jacob said.

He sat down and they began to eat and talk about their day mainly Jacob’s day and what he had done since their day was always the same as usual and not much new that happened so Jacob did most of the talking.

“The party is next week, when will you guys leave?” Jacob said.

“Friday evening, want to drive us?” Skylar said.

“Yeah, why not, I can look around at some law firms” Jacob said.

“You’re going to move?” Skylar said.

“No just looking for now, I don’t have that much experience yet” Jacob said.

Skylar nodded her head, they finished eating and Skylar’s mother went to bed and Skylar with the help of Jacob cleaned the kitchen after they were finished, he said his good nights and went home Skylar went up to her room. Skylar went into the bathroom and took a look warm bath to calm her down once she got out, she dried her hair and put her PJ’s on and went to bed and fell asleep.
