Chapter Fifteen

Renesmee’s P.O.V Twelve hours later, I woke up on someone’s shoulder in a car. I turned to see Mason right beside me. “Morning, sleepyhead,” Mason said. “Morning,” I said. Mason kissed me on the cheek, and I kissed him back. I felt a vibration in my bag and broke the kiss to dig through my purse for my phone. I found my phone and unlocked my screen to see a message from Jacob. It said... Your family and I are coming to save you. We know where you are. I texted back... What? Why? How do you know where I am? Jacob responded. We figured it out. Mason butt-dialed me, and we figured something was up. I replied... Jacob, I’m alright, but I need some time away. A minute later, Jacob responded... Look, they’re getting ready to do something to you. I overheard it on the phone. I glanced at Mason, who gave me a warm smile. Then, I turned my head and responded to Jacob’s text. That’s not what I’m buying. Mason would never hurt me. Jacob responded again... It may seem like that, but I would never lie. The truth was undeniable. Jacob and I had been friends since childhood, and he had never lied to me. I felt confused and unsure about what to believe. I texted back... I have to go. Jacob responded.... Wait, Renesmee! I put my phone in my pocket, and Mason looked at me with a concerned look. “Who was that?” he asked. “That was Jacob. He was texting me about something.” I responded. “What is it?” I needed to know if he was lying to me. “Where are you taking me?” I asked. “I’m taking you to a hotel. We are going sightseeing,” Mason responded. “Then why did my best friend text me, saying they heard you saying you’re going to do something to me?” Mason’s eyes widened. “Oh....they heard that?” he asked. I ignored his question. I asked, “Is that true?” “No... No, it’s not true. I love you.” Mason responded. My eyes widened. Mason had never spoken those words to me. “You love me?” I inquired. “Yes,” Mason responded. Do I love him? I must be because I gave myself to him last night. “I love you, too,” I said. Mason smiled and kissed me on the lips. Jacob’s P.O.V I turned off my phone and put it in my pocket. Did Renesmee even believe me? Bella looked at them with a concerned expression. She asked Jacob, “What did she say?” My eyes met Bella’s as I spoke. “I’m unsure of my next steps and feeling lost. She didn’t seem to accept my words.” “We have to save her.” I nodded my head. The plane was getting ready to leave. I laid back and took a nap. Renesmee’s P.O.V I arrived at the Palazzo San Lorenzo Hotel in Volterra, Italy, with my belongings. Mason’s mom checked us in and handed us the keys, and then we went to our hotel room using the elevator. Upon reaching the correct floor, we entered our hotel room, and my gaze fell upon the window. Next, I saw a small bathroom and a bed. “This is where we’re staying?” I inquired. “Yes, for you and me,” Mason responded. Mason walked over to me and set his bags down. He grabbed me and pulled me close. I giggled and put my arms around his neck to kiss him. He kissed me back, and we ended up on the bed. Mason tried to take off my shirt, but I stopped him. He looked at me, confused, and asked, “What’s wrong?” “We can’t. I mean, we shouldn’t.” “Why not? It’s not like you’re pregnant.” I looked at him, worried. What if I was pregnant? Mason read my face. He figured it out. “Wait, you can’t be,” he asked. “You can’t be pregnant. So please tell me you’re not pregnant!” “I threw up twice, so I’m not sure,” I explained. Mason’s eyes widened. “You can’t be pregnant. It’s impossible,” he exclaimed. “It is. I am half-human.” “Oh, shoot.” Mason got off me and sat beside me with his head on his knees. Mason’s P.O.V Crap, that was not good. I got a girl pregnant, and now I was getting ready to bail on her. I was such a d**k. I shouldn’t give her up. I had to talk to someone, so I got up and felt an icy hand grab my arm. “Where are you headed?” Renesmee inquired. “I need to talk to my mom. Can you manage on your own?” I inquired. “Yeah, I’ll be fine.” “Okay, I’ll be back soon.” Renesmee nodded, and I headed out of the hotel room and knocked on my mother’s door. She then opened it. “Hey Mason, what’s up?” Mom asked. “Can we talk?” I asked, walking into the hotel room. “Yeah, what is it?” “It’s about giving Renesmee away. I can’t do it now.” “Wait, why?” “For the rest of my life, I’ll be a d**k. That’s why.” Mom sighed. She asked, “What is it?” “I got Renesmee pregnant,” I responded. My mom’s eyes widened. She said, “You, what!” “I know what you’re thinking. I’m stupid,” I admitted. I walked back and forth in the room, panicking. “It doesn’t matter, son. Maybe she’s not pregnant,” Mom reassured him. “I’d be a huge jerk if she were,” I said. My mom approached me and said, “Son, you’re too sensitive. You should become stronger and move on. You won’t see her again.” I looked at her and glared. She said something that made me question. I asked, “Why did you say that?” “Because you don’t even love her; it’s all fake to get her here,” Mom responded. “What if it’s not fake love at all? What if I have true feelings for this girl?” Mom sighed and said, “Son, you must do what’s best for us and leave her. You should break up with her before we give her to the Volturi.” “But...” I said. “No, but it’s over.” A deep sigh of annoyance eluded me. I lost interest and would rather stay in Forks than return home. When I returned to the hotel room, I found Renesmee in the bathroom, preparing for bed. She wore a gown, and her hair flowed down her back. I walked up behind her, moving a piece of hair away from her shoulder and revealing her neck. I leaned down and kissed her neck. Renesmee tensed up, and I saw her smiling in the mirror. Renesmee muttered, “Hey.” I kissed her neck and shoulder, whispering, “Hi.” Renesmee giggled, and I smirked. I loved it when she laughed. It’s cute. She turned around and looked at me. I looked down at the bottom of her shirt, hiding her stomach. She crossed her arms. “Can I see?” I asked. “Why, it’s not like I’m pregnant,” Renesmee responded. “But you might be because you haven’t even taken a pregnancy test yet.” “Fine.” Renesmee left the bathroom, and I followed. She sat on the bed. I knelt, placing my hands under her shirt. She chuckled, and I glanced up, curious. “What?” I inquired. “I’m a few weeks old. You won’t feel a thing,” Renesmee reassured. I ignored her and listened to her stomach. I heard something, causing my eyes to widen. Worried, Renesmee glanced at me. She asked, “What is it? What happened?” “I felt something.” “What is it?” “I heard a heartbeat.” Could it be true? Could there be a baby inside me? Renesmee smiled and said, “This is baffling. We are having a baby together.” I got up. Renesmee wrapped her arms around me. “How can this be? You’re not supposed to be at this stage,” I exclaimed. “I know, but I’ve heard about this,” Renesmee explained. “What did you hear?” “Both of us are vampires. I am also half-human. Thus, our children would be half-vampires and half-humans.” “Oh, so...” “The baby must be growing fast.” “So that means the baby, at this stage, is in week five or six, so the baby’s brain, spinal cord, the heart is being formed.” “How do you know this stuff?” “I don’t know. I liked science.” Renesmee nodded, her arms encircling my neck, and I grasped her hips. She kissed me, and I couldn’t help but do the same thing. I lifted her in my arms, cradling her as I carried her to the soft comfort of the bed. I then climbed on top of her and continued kissing her. Renesmee’s P.O.V Mason’s intense kissing heightened the situation, causing me to pull away and glance at him. Mason glanced at me, concern evident. “What’s the matter?” he inquired. “We can’t go far, remember?” I responded. “Sorry, I couldn’t control myself.” “It’s okay.” “What do you want to do now?” “We can still make out, though.” “Okay, first, let me go get ready for bed.” “Okay.” Mason left to use the bathroom, and I became captivated by the patterns on the ceiling. I cannot believe I’m pregnant. I move my hand to my stomach and lift my shirt. My belly was forming a bump. Mason walked in. He had his boxers on, and he looked hot. He looked at me, saw my stomach displayed, grinned, and said, “Your stomach looks bigger.” “Yeah..” I said. Mason and I both got into bed. He moved closer to me. I turned and kissed him. Mason grabbed my face and kissed me in return. After he pulled away, he looked at me and said, “Goodnight.” “Goodnight,” I said. I then kissed him again and then laid my head on his chest, and he wrapped his arms around me. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
