Chapter 10: Improved Strength

“My apologies, Lady Kira. Don’t worry, I will bring back my daughter and educate her thoroughly so she won’t make the same mistake again.” Allen Roswell smiled and spoke politely.

“This was just a misunderstanding. Master Javier, I hope you will forgive my daughter for spouting nonsense against Lady Kira.”

Kira knew too well why Allen Roswell bent down. It’s a grave mistake to lie in front of the alpha, but what’s greater than that is attacking a person beneath you, especially her, a member of the royal family.

If news spread about Morgana deliberately attacking a member of the royal family, the royal censors would immediately punish the Roswell family. It’s a grave offense in the entire castle to attack the members of the royal family, even if it’s someone who is deemed as worthless.

Valerie became aware of the grave mistake Morgana had made. She can’t let Morgana be imprisoned because of it, she still has uses for her. So, she went along with Allen Roswell's words, “It was all a misunderstanding. Sister, I hope you forgive me for misunderstanding your good intentions. In the future, I won’t mention those words again. "

She smiled towards Kira, “Kira, my dear sister, please anguish your anger. Father already knew that you are innocent of this.”

Kira closed her eyes. Valerie is really good at putting away the blame from her. She always had a graceful beauty and was usually soft and gentle when walking and talking. But behind her facade, she knew very well how evil she was.

Valerie’s smile stiffened. She saw her sister looking at her. That round face with a timid appearance that always had this impression of stupidity and foolishness is nowhere to be found.

Her father saw this and was getting impatient. So much drama had happened in this place, the worst was in front of his officials. Since the Roswell family have already apologized, I think that’s already enough. Do you agree, Kira?”

“Yes, father. Since it’s just a misunderstanding, I won’t hold it against them.” Kira lowered her head, “If there is nothing else, I hope father will approve of my leave. My health is still in poor condition and I need to take more rest.”

Her father nodded impatiently and she bowed for the last time and then left the study.

Auntie Herma said, “Lady Kira, did Master blame you again? I heard that was blamed for the rumors circulating in the castle about Ms. Morgana Roswell?”

“It’s fine.” Kira said solemnly, “Let’s go back to my room. I’m feeling a bit dizzy.”

Inside the room, Kira called Bariston over after Auntie Herma left. “What is your order, Lady Kira?”

“I will be staying inside my room for a long time. Except for Auntie Herma, don’t let anyone come in. Understood?”

“Understood lady Kira”, he then transformed into a black wolf and jumped out the window to perform the task.

“Master!” Althea popped out suddenly. “When are you going to start healing your wolf spirit?” the little girl excitedly asked.

“Right now!” She made sure to lock her doors so that no one could enter them without her knowledge.

When everything was clear, she summoned her lotus flower. “What should I do next?”

Althea went closer to her and looked at the flower in her hands, “Master should boil the lotus flower. When all its petals are completely mixed with the water, Master should drink it immediately.”

Kira looked at her, full of doubt. “That’s it?”

“Master, this treatment is very slow. We can’t rush into treating your wolf spirit immediately or it might have a negative effect. So, we should nourish the spirit slowly. In this way, your strength will improve as well.”

Kira went silent. So, she really can’t get her revenge as soon as possible. She needs time. Fortunately, the Moon Festival is still months away. She still has time before the mating ceremony starts.

Fifteen days passed by so fast. Today is the last day of her drinking the boiled lotus flower. Soon later, Kira opened her eyes slowly and noticed her skin turned softer and healthier than usual. She took a look in the mirror and her face showed a bit of redness, not her usual pale and sickly face.

“Master, congratulations! You have finally healed your body and your wolf spirit! Later I will give you an additional prescription that you can follow so that you can increase your speed.” Althea was so ecstatic that she happily bounced around the room.

“But I still don't have my wolf. It’s still not enough.”

“Master, you might not know this, but your body’s constitution is different from the rest. Even without your wolf, you can still become strong. With these special prescriptions and proper cultivation, your strength can be the same as a 3rd rank wolf. Although you can’t break through to 4th rank if you don’t have a wolf yet,” Althea patiently explained.

Kira raised her eyebrows at the little girl. “So you mean, I can fight those 3rd-rank wolves even if I’m wolf-less?”

“Yup! But right now, your strength is still at 1st rank at most. But don’t worry, with me here, you can become stronger in no time.!” She proudly lifted her head and had a smug face.

Kira flashed a smile on her face, but before she could respond, Althea’s voice suddenly became alert. “Master, someone is coming!” Then she vanished instantly.

Kira hurriedly took the tools she used for her medicine. She had been in the room for 15 days straight without her going out. Aside from Auntie Herma sending her meals on time, there was also Bariston who was guarding outside to make sure no one was interrupting her.

There are only a few people who Bariston can’t stop from entering. It’s her father or her sister. But she was more than sure that it was her sister who was coming.

And she was right when the door opened, it was Valerie. “Kira! I’m glad you are fine. It’s been so many days since I haven’t seen you. Sister just got busy with her studies, I hope you can forgive me.”

“What forgiveness are you saying? I’m okay Valerie. Besides, I know how busy you are, so I don’t want to bother you. My health is still not good. That’s why I’ve been staying here in my room,” Kira softly answered.

She was still skeptical as to why her sister was visiting her this time. She’s sure it was not because she was worried about her. There might be something else.

“Kira.” Valerie said and held her hands warmly, “Next week is the Celebration of the Moon Goddess. As you know, every year our castle hosts an examination. Are you going to join us?”

So, that was it. The examination is a test of talents for every young person in the castle, especially those students who want to gain fame. Most importantly, all of the officials, including her father, would be there to witness it. It’s also the time for those people to advance in their career ranks.

This is why everyone would use all their energy and effort to achieve these top spots. For the past years, it was Valerie who stood at the top. She was never the one who lost. But it was quite the opposite for her. She was at the bottom all the time.

It’s not because she didn’t have any talent to showcase, it’s just that she was afraid of embarrassing herself in front of the crowd. What happened when she was 12 years old left a deep trauma in her. That’s why she didn’t participate in the past.

Now as she was thinking of it, she realized how mediocre her past self was. She is really stupid. Because of her cowardice, she was branded as a useless princess. Aside from her title as a waste, coward was added, tarnishing her reputation further.

But she won’t allow it to happen this time. She knew that her sister was the one who created that rumor of her being afraid in the past. What would happen to her if she took that spotlight away from her? Kira was feeling delighted just thinking of it.

“I’ll try my best sister. I’m not sure though if my body could handle it.” she weakly replied.

Valerie looked worriedly at her but Kira had seen the delight in her eyes. She smirked in her heart. “I hope you can be in great health at that time. Everyone is waiting for you to attend the competition. Including father.”
