Game Begins

"Hey, Marge! Are you up for tonight's party?" Alice texted me a message. I almost forgot that it's Friday night. It's such a waste to let the night ends just like that, not when it's Friday night. Though it's summer vacation, we must release this boredom by enjoying the loud music and sweet cocktails. "I'm in. Let me know which pub are we on." I throw my phone on the bed and get myself ready to dance the night away with my girls. Thanks to them, my last week of vacation will never be boring. After I took a bath, I am standing right in the middle of the walk-in closet. It's been almost an hour yet I still don't know what to wear, common girl problem I guess. Well, setting a theme on your own could help you narrow down the option. And so for tonight's party, I want something chic and comfy. So I end up wearing a burgundy satin bustier top and faded ripped jeans to emphasize my figure. Something comfy yet chic-looking. I'll be using a black leather chain bag, ankle strap heels, and a few gold accessories to finish the look. I also put on some make-up and soft curl the ends of my hair. Now, I'm ready to go. ===== I rode off the cab when I saw this hot young man who came out of his car with such oozing charisma. I couldn't help but stare at him and enjoy his handsomeness. But I was pulled back to reality when my phone suddenly rings and saw that its a call from Alice. "Hey, where are you? Hurry up!" She shouts from the other line and I can hear the loud music in her background. They must be probably inside the bar already. I looked back at the handsome guy who was standing but he suddenly disappear. I tried to look around to see which table is he in but it's hard to find him in the middle of the crowd. I walked towards our usual spot and there's Alice and Cassy. They are waving their hands in the air as they excitedly greet me from afar. We exchange some cheek-to-cheek greetings while the cocktails are being served at our standing table. "How were you and your new hottie? Getting the best that you can??" Cassy teasing Alice. "Sorry girl but we didn't even last for a week. He's too clingy to be a guy. That's so off." Alice complained. Well, these girls may be nice and sweet but believe me, they are b*tch*s when it comes to dating. Though I'm not sure if it can be counted as dating because that's how they call it. "You're so mean. What if he just wanna talk to you more often?" Cassy added. "If I am mean then what are we gonna call, Margarette Lane?" Alice throws the ball at me. "Me? What's that supposed to mean?" I chuckled. "At least I gave him my number and go out a few dates with him. But Margarette doesn't even ask for their names after exchanging some kisses before the night ends." And they both laughed at Alice's statement. I just smirked while listening to her. What else can I say? I can't deny that it's not true because that's how things work on me. When I go out to a bar, I have these three major rules that I always bear in mind. First, never give any of your true identity to anyone, whether it's your name, age, social media, or even in the city where you live in. Second, don't talk to someone else unless you're drunk. When you're on your right mind, you tend to be sincere which is not a good idea. All the guys you'll meet in the bar are all passers-by, it will be your loss if you treat them with sincerity. And last but not the least, what happens in the bar will stay in the bar. You can do whatever you wanna do as long as you won't bring them into your real world. Keeping these rules never failed to keep me intact. I'm here to enjoy the night and that's it. So whatever happens on that night will eventually end when the sun shines as the next day comes in. "Are you guys cheating on me? I just came in but it feels like you two are already drunk! Stop this nonsense chitchatting and just enjoy the night!" I screamed out of excitement while offering a toast. We are all hyped by the loud party music and the crowd starts to grow wild as it's almost 12MN. After having different cocktails and some shot of tequila, we start to get tipsy and decided to join the crowd in the middle of the dance floor. Alice begins to be chased by guys and the next time I saw her, they start grinding and enjoying each other while dancing on the dance floor. While Cassy and I are dancing face to face. You couldn't get hyped with this loud music and the cocktails on your system, right? As we went back to our table, Alice's guy for the night joined us. They were all so lovey-dovey as if they knew each other for a long time even they've just met a few minutes ago. I can't stand the sight in front of me so I just excused myself and go to the powder room. I was about to go back to our table when I saw the handsome young man a while ago from the parking area. He still looks so fresh even if hours have passed. I wish I could always look so fresh like him without exerting any effort to do some re-touch. He was on his way to the men's comfort room when he bumped with this one girl who looks so wasted. She didn't even have the energy to pick up her purse. I was about to help her but he apologizes to her and even called out for some help to take care of the girl. They sat on the chair while the girl rests her head on his shoulder. I wonder what scent does he wear right now. I walked naturally as much as I can as I passed through them. I feel like he has caught me staring at him a while ago. As I came back to our table, Cassy has this guy holding her waist from behind. These girls never waste a chance every night we go out. They were smiling at me but their eyes say something else. "What?!" I asked as they kept staring at me. "Are you sure you're the Marge who's our friend? I just can't believe that it took so long to the powder room yet you came back alone. Don't tell me you lose your charm for tonight." Cassy teases me as sips another cocktail. "This is not right. We've got to do something. I think something's going on with this gorgeous friend of ours. Hmmm." Alice looked around as if looking for someone. She narrowed her eyes while supporting her chin with her palm as she looks somewhere else. Her eyes brighten as soon as found her target. "There you go. Gotcha! There's the famous snobbish Cassanova. Go ahead and show us what you got. Prove to us that you're still the same Margarette Lane that we used to know." Alice is pointing at the man who's standing alone on the table, enjoying his glass of whiskey. "And what if I made it? What will you give on return?" I asked as I feel confident that I'll win this game. "The night is on me and the guy is your bonus," Alice stated confidently. While Cassy and the boys are screaming excitedly as the betting game begins. I winked at Alice while she gave me a flying kiss as a sign that it's a deal. They were all cheering at me while I was walking towards the lonely guy. But before I knew it, his back seems quite familiar as I slowly approaches him. And when I stand right next to him, my assumption became more certain. I offered a toast as I join his table and tried to talk to him but it didn't end well. I mean, how could I even make a move when he's the same guy who captures my attention as soon as I arrived in this pub. Of all the guys I could bump into this crowd, why does it have to be him? My confidence slowly fades in. I am trying to talk to him again after the silence between us but all I can do is to glance at him as I hesitate each time. Come on, Marge. You have to win this game or else Alice and Cassy will keep teasing you about it the whole week. "Hey." I greeted him awkwardly while showing him my killer smile. "Is there anything else you need from me?" He asked while looking at me with his poker face. Nonetheless, he is still oozing with charisma. I feel like I'm gonna melt. I explained to him about our bet for whatever reason could that be. But all he says was... "Sorry but I am not interested." Then he turned his back on me.
