"Sorry but I am not interested." Then he turned his back on me.
This is so embarrassing. Telling him the truth will never be the right answer to this. What's happening to you, Margarette Lane?! You're breaking your rule number2!
I am annoyed and embarrassed with all the eyes looking at us. He must be famous to see all the eyes of girls around us. But what's the point of staying when he rejected me flatly.
I was about to leave the table as he didn't even take a glance at me after that conversation. But I bump with this one guy who seems to be his friend when I took a few steps away from their table. He throws his palm in the air and stopped me from leaving.
"Hey, dude. Wasting the chance to be with this gorgeous is far-fetched. Why don't you give it a try to enjoy each other's company?" He uttered loud enough for me to hear.
And for some reason, I am hoping that this will work for me this time. I hope that his friend could convince him.
My hope gets up when he jolted his head towards me but he just looked at me blankly and just raised his brows while displaying an annoying smile.
"Thanks, but I guess your friend feels uncomfortable being around me so I will just go back to my friends," I told his friend.
Okay, I give up. I turned my back and was decided to pay for everything tonight as it seems like winning this game is hopeless but I was surprised that he held my wrist and he took two steps to come near me. Then he whispered right to my ear.
"I'll help you this once. And you'll be forever indebted to me. Would that be fine with you?" That surprises me and terrifies me at the same time while listening to his whisper.
I clenched my fists as I am having a dilemma whether I'll accept his offer or not. But declining him in front of all these eyes looking on us would do me no good. Besides, I can also see Alice and Cassy looking at me intently. It's a matter of pride over my rule. If I badly want to win this bet, I have to deal with the consequences in exchange for having the attention of the famous snobbish Cassanova.
I took a deep breath and leans my face towards his ears. And that made all the girls gasp from so much envy. Probably envied that we have such secret shared between us, something that they can never have.
"What's your deal? Let me hear them first." I lean my arm on his shoulder while smiling, acting like I still have the confidence and things are in favor of me.
"You'll know after winning the bet," He responded while tucking the loose strands of my hair behind her earlobe.
Our eyes met so I just gave him my killer smile as a sign that it's a closed deal. And believe me, no one can ever take away their gaze at me once they've got captivated by my gorgeous smile. Seeing him gulping hardly proves that he fell for that spell.
I looked at Alice and Cassy at the next table and winked at them as I declare my victory. Alice just raises her glass in the air as she accepts her defeat.
"Guess you gotta go back to your seat right there and claim the prize. Be back as soon as you're done." I looked at him fiercely as I heard him say that.
Why do I feel like I am being bossed out by some stranger? I admit that he's handsome and full of charisma but that's just it. Where the h*CK did he got the nerves to tell me what to do?!
I flinched my brows while looking at him but his eyes are telling me that I don't have the right to get annoyed at this point. Because yeah right, I agree with this d*mn deal just to win the bet and save my face from humiliation. No choice but to listen to his command.
I walked with poise and pride as I go back to where my friends are while the two guys who are with him were shouting out of joy to see how things end up to us.
"Excuse me but I'm afraid we have to end the night this way because my guy is right over." I took a bag and my cocktail glass.
"Thanks for making me drunk for tonight." I raised my glass as I bid goodbye to these ladies.
I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing but who the hell cares what's right or wrong?! Besides, the night will end as soon as the sun rises so there's nothing to worry about it. All I have to do is to go home with my whole body intact, took a nap, and forget whatever happens tonight.
I smiled at his friend as soon as I come back to their table. I looked at him but he didn't even look back at me. He's back to being the snobbish Cassanova as what they called him.
"By the way my name is Jeff. And you are?" He extended his arm as he introduce himself and I accepted it.
"I'm Sam, just call me Sam." And hearing me say that made him smirked. He's starting to annoy me. He is so conceited. I hope this night ends now.
But unfortunately, hours have passed yet these three men that I've been with never get drunk. Their energy, stamina, and alcohol tolerance are undeniably great. I wish I could have the same strength. Because I think another glass of cocktail can make me go wasted anytime soon.
I lifted my foot and stretches it out as I can feel that my high heels are starting to kill my joints. I never thought we would remain standing this long. What if I excused myself and told them that I'll go home first?! Would he allow me??
I am looking at him while thinking about what to do so I can escape from his chain but he suddenly looked at me and caught me staring at him. He looked at my feet and checked what I am doing down there but he just remove his gaze without saying anything. He's just wearing his usual poker face.
Come on, Marge! Don't get your hopes up. He will never be the kind of guy you think he would be. Why do you keep breaking your rules just because of this handsome face?!
His friends Jace and Brent came back with some girls with them. I guess the night is still so long for all of them. Alright, I give up. I guess I have to excuse myself and give up on this nonsense. Besides, I don't think standing right next to him without even looking into my eyes properly will bring us somewhere else.
"Hey, what's your deal? Let me know so I can call it a day." I shouted right on his ears as the music gets louder.
He finishes what's left on his glass of whiskey and walks towards Jace. He whispered somewhere and Jeff looked at me while smirking. Why do I feel like they are talking strange about me? He also whispered on Brent and smiled weirdly while looking at me. These three are scaring the best out of me.
What the h*CK is he telling them?!
He walks near me and he just jolted his head as if telling me that we're leaving. So I picked up my bag on the table and was about to take a step but I suddenly lose my balance. Maybe my legs are too tired and get weaker from standing too long while wearing these high heels. I almost tripped myself and fell into huge embarrassment but he immediately grabs my arm and held my waist tightly as he supports me. That was close!
I gasped in shock but he immediately saves me from that accident. I can sense that all eyes are on us again. Our eyes meet and his eyes show that there's a hint of concern. It was a first, looking at me with his true emotions.
He helped me stand properly and asked if I'm okay. I just nodded in response as I'm still in shock.
"Why do you have to wear that stilettos when you'll gonna drink a lot more than what you can manage?!" He immediately went back to being conceited.
I wanna insist that it was an accident and it has nothing to do with being drunk but for some reason, all I can say was...
"S-sorry."
Margarette Lane! What's wrong with you?! Are you insane? Did you just lose your sanity just because of this handsome face? I feel like I'm not myself since I arrive in this pub.
He extended his arm as if offering me to hold onto it but he didn't say anything. But I don't wanna assume so I just ignore it and continue walking.
"Wait for me here." He said as soon as we came out.
He took his car from the parking area and stops right in front of me. He opened the car window and just shouted.
"Hop in."
Wait, what??? Hop in? Where are we going? I can kiss any random guy I like but I never leave the bar with anyone. This is another rule-breaking move, Margarette!
The car from behind his car is honking as he causes traffic in front of the pub.
"Hop in or I'll leave you behind." He starts getting annoying for the delay I am causing.
In my panic as I look at the traffic, I immediately ride in his car even though I'm still having half-mind thoughts. He kicked on the accelerator and drives so fast. I was so scared thinking that he is drunk driving.
"Where are we going?" I asked as he keeps driving without talking or even telling me what his deal.
"You'll know once we're there."
And that scares the h*ll out of me even more. Wrong move, Margarette.
Wrong move!
