"Love is a fire"
Joan Crawford said, "Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your heart or burn down your house, you can never tell."
Chloe has been reading some references in preparation for her application in pursuing her dream to become a writer.
And reading this quote made her thought of her true feelings for Ethan.
She was certain that she always feels warm every time she's with Ethan. Every ordinary thing became extraordinary when being shared with him. That's why their relationship keeps getting stronger for the past eight years. But when they decided to live under one roof, things begin to change.
The sweetness turned into bitterness and the laughter turned into tears. The trial stage of their pre-marriage is slowly failing. It is not what she's been dreaming for, it is not what it was supposed to be.
As she gets to know him better, the deeper the wounds she garners. The love she has been protecting for almost a decade became the source of pain and abuse. And the sacrifices and faith she betted in their relationship cause her haphephobia.
In the process of establishing herself from the painful past, she will meet Jace who suffers from the same wound.
Jace used to be your typical Cassanova who never date the same girl for more than a week. He always has this "Flavor of the Week" girl but things have changed when cupid's arrow hit his heart big time when he met Margarette. They say that opposite does attract but they became the living proof that sharing the same taste with things is incomparable. No petty arguments, no conflicts because you are compatible with most of everything.
But when Margarette realized that constant is not her cup of tea, their stable relationship bores her after seven years of living together. She realized that being with the same guy after seven years of living under the same roof in her younger years is not worth it. She wants more, she wants variation, she wants something different, and excitement that she used to have each day but things changed when she sticks with Jace.
And her, wanting more, causes cracks in their relationship. Cheating became her new source of excitement. Sleeping with some other guy in their bedroom makes her heart pound so hard. The thrill of being caught having intimacy with other guys in the same bedroom she shared with Liam boosts her adrenaline. The thirst for wanting more has been fulfilled through cheating.
On an unexpected day, Jace surprises her by coming home earlier than he's supposed to be home. But instead of surprising Margarette, he was in shock as he witnessed her being with some other guy in their room. And this painful scenario cause him an emotional scar called Coitophobia.
Sharing one's pain is never an easy thing but as Chloe and Jace met each other, things just come in naturally. All the hard things became easy when being shared with Chloe and Jace feels the same way, too.
Could the two wounded people become the cure for each other?
Or will they just be another scar on each other's wounded soul?
