CHAPTER 8. Suitor

After a thorough effort in Marnie's driving lesson, finally she passed the exams. She was almost giving up since it's quite hard for her to drive in Quezon City and Edsa. She's too nervous yet it's a part of her journey to undergo this driving test before the company released her company car. She was not allowed to bring along a driver with her. She was so grateful to Doctor Michael who helped her and taught her how to drive before she underwent the company's drive test and passed.

As she was struggling so hard in parking her car at the Hospital's parking lot, Arthur saw her. He immediately approached her and offered his help.

"Hi. Can I help you?" Arthur asked her while being worried seeing some beads of sweat on Marnie's forehead already.

Marnie smiled at him and said," Yes please. I'm really bad at parking . Thank you," she moved her way so that Arthur can take place of the driving seat.

Arthur carefully maneuvered the steering wheel and parked Marnie's car accordingly.

"Thank you so much, Arthur," Marnie gratefully said to him.

Arthur smiled and said," No worries, I'm just here okay."

Dr. Michael Co was just about to leave his car when he saw Arthur and Marnie talking inside the car. His face darken as if he wanted to punch Arthur. He can't explain why but he burst out his anger over his secretary on the phone.

"I don't want Arthur to meet with me later okay. Call Marnie and ask her to report at my clinic now," he told his secretary.

His secretary was so worried why is it Doctor Michael raised his voice over the phone. It seemed that there's something wrong with him or someone offended her Boss.

Suddenly, Marnie's iPhone vibrated.

She answered her iPhone when she saw it's Doctor Michael's secretary," Yes dear," she said.

"Hi Ma'am Marnie, Doctor Michael wanted to see you now in his clinic. He had concerns about your product promotions," she said. She can't think of another alibi for her to immediately come to their clinic. She can't afford to make her Boss mad.

"Alright, I'll be there right away," she got worried about what would be Doctor Michael's concern then. They were okay for the past few days.

"I need to be at Doctor Michael's clinic right away. Thank you, Arthur," she said before she hurriedly left him and went to Doctor Michael Co's clinic.

Doctor Michael's dark face was terrible when he came to his clinic and his secretary immediately make him a cup of black coffee without sugar and a cold glass of water full of ice. Every time Doctor Michael wasn't in good mood, this pair of hot and cold beverages made him cool down and his secretary was very much aware of it.

"Hi Doctor, your hot black coffee and a cold glass of water were already on your table," she politely said to her Boss.

"Thank you. I won't accept any visitors for now except for scheduled patients and Marnie okay," he still give courtesy to his secretary and advised her of who were those he wanted to see today.

"Hmmm, why a sudden changed of mood at this early hour?" his secretary asked herself while wondering.

Knock! Knock!

Marnie opened the door and asked the secretary, "Yes, Doctor Michael is looking for me?" she was frightened while asking the secretary. She was wondering what had she done that offended him.

"Have a seat first, I'll inform Doctor that you are here already," the secretary politely invited Marnie to have a seat first on their couch.

"Thank you. Do you have any idea why he called me," she asked the secretary.

"I don't know but he was really in a bad mood," she gave her a warning. Marnie was a nice one to her and she doesn't want her to be scolded by her Boss either.

Marnie wasn't comfortable to seat then when she knew that Doctor Michael was in a bad mood," What have I done?" she kept on asking herself.

Suddenly, Doctor Michael's secretary approached her and told her to get inside as Doctor Michael was waiting for her already.

Marnie's forehead started to release beads of sweat already.

The secretary smiled and told her," No worries, his mood changes when he learned that you are here already. Relax and come inside."

Marnie still wondered when the secretary almost push her to come inside as she still had another task to do as per request by her Boss.

After Marnie, came inside the private clinic of Doctor Michael Co, she immediately called for food delivery from a popular "Vanderlust Bistro + Patisserie in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Doctor Michale Co wanted to have a private breakfast with Marnie this morning inside his clinic's pantry.

The secretary ordered the popular Mushroom Truffle Pasta, Arancini Al Margherita, Cannoli, Butcher's Steak with Blue Cheese and Potato Gratin, Churros with Chocolate Dip and Poulet. She was so happy as these will be delivered within 20 minutes.

She knew that Doctor Michael seemed to like Marnie a lot. Compared with the previous female medical representatives who were trying to catch Doctor Michael's attention, only Marnie caught his attention without doing any seduction moves to Doctor Martin.

Even though his Boss has been rumored as Doctor Garcia's fiance, there's no news coming out from Doctor Michael's mouth either. It's only Doctor Garcia spreading the news and her secretary that she was Doctor Michael Co's fiance and their engagement party will be announced soon.

"Good morning Doctor Michael," Marnie greeted him when she saw him writing something on top of his desk...

Doctor Michael raised his head and gave Marnie a sweet smile. She can't help but part her lips while staring at Doctor Michael's handsome face. She thought that he was mad but it seemed that he was pretty in good mood.

"I thought you are not in a good mood that's why your secretary called me and to be here immediately," she told Doctor Michael.

"I told her to call you because I want to tell you something," he said. "Have a seat," he invited her.

"Thank you, Doctor. What is it all about?" she asked still wondering what will be their topic now. She's not prepared today.

"I want to have breakfast with you first," he said then his secretary came over and started to set up the dining table inside the pantry.

"Breakfast here, "Marnie asked.

"Yeah! We can discuss matters over our breakfast," he said.

While they were having their breakfast, Marnie can't help but taste all the menus in front of her. They were all delicious.

Burp!

Marnie can't help but burp after their breakfast. Doctor Michael didn't open any topic while they both ate their breakfast. He wanted Marnie to enjoy her food while he is also enjoying watching her eat a lot.

"I wanted to give you a warning Marns," he said making Marnie frozen.

"What warning Doctor? For what ground? Did I offend you?" she was about to cry already. After they had a sumptuous breakfast, his words seemed to break her.

"Stop talking or approaching Arthur. He will just toy you," he said while looking straight into her eyes.

"Why?" she asked.

"Because I wanted to pursue you. I want us to know more about each other," he said while wiping off a portion of steak left on the left side of Marnie's lips.

Marnie was stupefied by what Doctor Michael said and did.

She thought that she heard him wrong.

'What? Can you please repeat what you have just said, Doctor? I think I've heard it wrong," she said.

"I said I want us to get to know more. I want to pursue you," he said while engulfing her tiny hands over his big palms.

Marnie felt lost. She can't process what's happening at the moment.
