Acting Coquettishly

1002 Words
The air temperature suddenly dropped. No one around dared to breathe too loudly for fear of cutting their lives short. Asher coughed nervously, then slowly turned around to pacify Damien's brewing anger but was shocked at the sight he saw. Damien was smiling brightly. "Really love?" Damien laughed. Asher stood dumbstruck staring weirdly at the man who had suddenly turned stupid. He really wanted to believe his ears were playing tricks on him. Elsa on her part, didn't seem to notice the reaction. She huffed hearing the title being awarded her. "My name is Elsa" she cut in, turned around and walked out of the garden. Damien subconsciously followed her, saying coaxing words to try pacifying her until his voice faded. Asher rubbed his eyes, then beckoned on a pack member nearby. "Tell me, did you also see that?" He asked pursing his lips into a thin line. The man who was also as surprised as he was, solemnly nodded. Even he too found the scene so ridiculous. Sighing, Asher waved him away, "Alright, go back to work. I hope things are really about to change for the better" ..... With the aid of her photographic memory, Elsa successfully found her way back to her room. It was only when she got in and locked Damien outside did the man stop trailing her but that still didn't stop him from being noisy. "My Luna, please open the door for me. Please love. I promise to keep mute and quietly watch you" Damien finally compromised. Elsa paused, filled her eyes and walked towards a door she pressumed was a bathroom. She pulled open the door, and sighed. The room contained lots of clothes. On a closer look, they were full of female clothes which she failed to notice. She shut the door, then sighted another door at the other end of the room. Staring at the angle, she face palmed her face. Why didn't she notice the bathroom should be situated a little farther from the bed and not the other side of the room? She huffed in frustration then strutted over to it. Pulling the door open, she sighed in relief and walked in. Damien who stood outside the room, perked his ears up to hear any abnormal sound. After minutes of waiting and only hearing the sound of the shower, he gently dipped his hands into his pockets and fetched a key. Quietly, he dipped it into the keyhole and turned it thrice in an extremely slow and noiseless way. Afterwards, he drew back the key, then pushed it open. Like a kid in search of his confiscated gadgets in his parents room, he tiptoed in. "Seriously?" Damien's heart palpitated. He was about saying a word of apology when he heard her voice again. "How could that scumbag fail to get a good body wash?!'' Damien's lips twitched. He didn't mean to brag but the body wash which he used was one of the best. If not the best. Sighing, he crept to his wardrobe, took out a long robe and draped it over his body then went ahead to scramble on to the bed. He felt really exhausted after staying awake for days watching over his unconscious mate. With a despondent sigh, he drew the duvet up to his chest, shut his eyes and slept off. Almost immediately, the bathroom door opened and Elsa walked in. She walked in faltered steps and was about yanking off the towel when she recalled something. She stopped, her eyes wandering about until it finally landed on the bed. She squinted her eyes a little due to the darkness surrounding the bed region. Finally, she spotted the masculine figure on the bed, her sharp ears quickly picking out the gentle snore. With an eye roll, she walked into a room she presumed to be a closet. ...... Alpha Derik stood quietly inside the packs training ground. His brows slammed together in thought. "Are you sure of what you're saying?" He asked calmly, his eyes sweeping across the pack member who brought a news which was surprisingly supposed to be a good one. The man cowered in fear at the look. "Yes Alpha, I was opportuned to your around the castle and spotted a look alike of her. I inquired around and although they all cowered in fear, I finally got one of them to divulge the truth to me" "Hmm" Alpha Derik breathed out. His brows once again slammed together in thought. "Go back" He said finally coming to a conclusion, "prepare the best gifts, an exquisite envoy and dress in your best outfit. We need to bring her home" Hearing him, the pack member nodded but beneath his eyes flashed an unknown light. Left alone, Alpha Derik stroked his beards slowly, his mind was again wandering into thought. Soon, they set out, everyone failing to notice the deadly smile on Eva's face. "Eva, when you see your sister do well to courtesy to her like a good younger sister. We should and must leave a good impression on Alpha Derik. Just imagine the power and influence that'll come to you once you take over the pack!" A feminine voice sounded close to her. Startled, Eva slowly turned to look at the figure. Standing a litter far from her was her mother, Luna Isolde, staring at her with a bewitching smile. On a closer look one would notice the younger woman looked a lot like the older one. Maybe, just maybe that contributed to the closeness between the two. Unclenching her clenched fist, Eva stood up and walked to her. Placing a hand on the woman's shoulder, she called out softly, "Mom" Her smile deepened. Elsa's mate hadn't influenced the choice of their parents. In their eyes, she was still the only one fit for the throne! The car came to an abrupt halt and a mellow, cool voice announced from outside the car, "We've arrived at our destination. The Castle Of Alpha Damien!"
