Chapter 10

Sophia’s P.O.V

  All of us stood in the middle of the living room in shock, not just from what had just been done, but from what my m….Bonnie had just revealed. Goddess, even calling her mom after what she did makes me feel sick. How could she have done something so cruel, especially to the people who looked after and cared for me? 

  “I’m so sorry, Sophia. I truly am about what you found out about your mom, I never once thought that coming here would end up like this. I should never have come here.” Casey said, breaking the silence, but both me and my dad looked at her confused.

  “No Casey, it's not your fault. I’m glad you came here and besides, I would have found out sooner or later, so I would rather it be after I got my sister back.” I replied, hugging her tightly.

  “I know you might not remember me, but once upon a time we were close, like two peas in a pod close. We followed each other around and when you fell out of the tree I was there to comfort you, until mom and dad came to get you.” I said and watched as my dad smiled when I told her a story from our past.

  “Sophia, I know you probably haven’t thought about this yet, but you have a mate now and you need to go with him.” My dad said, reminding me and surprising me at the same time.

  “But dad, I still have school and I graduate this year, actually in a few months. I don’t want to have to transfer and start over again.” I replied, but then Guss came over and wrapped his arm around me.

  “You don’t have to transfer if you don’t want to, I can drive you back and forth. I’m sure Alpha Ron and Luna Kacey won’t mind if I take a couple of months off.” Guss said and looked at Casey’s mate Ryan.

  “I’ll talk to my dad, but I’m sure it won’t be a problem. Besides, he’s about to retire and I’ll be the new Alpha, but first I have to prove that I will be a good Alpha, well, that's what he always says.” Ryan replied, making Casey and me smile. I looked at my dad and gave him a sad smile. 

  “I’ll miss you daddy, but we will see each other all the time and still talk on the phone.” I said, hugging him. My dad kissed my forehead before letting me go. I went upstairs to pack my things and a few hours later the trunk and half the back seat of the second car was full. I was just closing the trunk when my dad came outside.

  “Listen, you’re only an hour away, so I’ll come visit all the time, okay and I’ll be there at your graduation. You get settled in and I’ll be there in a few weeks, okay.” My dad said, hugging me tightly and kissing my forehead again. Today was the first day of my life with my mate and I was a little nervous and sad about leaving my dad, but also really happy to have my mate.

  Alpha Mark’s (Sophia’s dad) P.O.V

  I watched as my darling daughter got into the car and drove away with her new mate. I waited a few minutes and then went to the cells to see my ex mate. The guards moved out of the way as I went downstairs and headed towards the cell that Bonnie was being held in. When I got there I saw that Bonnie was sitting on the ground with her knees pulled up to her chest and her head resting on her knees.

  “What do you want now? Did you come here to gloat? Did you come here to kill me? What, Mark? Whatever it is, just say it or leave.” Bonnie said, not bothering to look at me.

  “I want to know the truth, why did you have them killed and don’t tell me that garbage that you told us earlier. You knew Sophia would want to see her and Casey was lucky that day that she was in school, but why did you do this?” I asked, needing to know the truth once and for all.

  “I did it for us, so we wouldn’t have to worry about some human wanting to see her. Yeah, sure we could have told her she moved when she died, but instead she lived and is now a lycan. A lycan for crying out loud. She is powerful, Mark and the two of them together will be even more powerful. Listen, let me out, let me out and I’ll go kill her. I’ll clear Sophia’s mind out and she will never remember anything.” Bonnie said and I angrily shook my head.

  “Bonnie, you are nothing but a selfish b***h. I should never have made you my Luna, I should have made Cindy my Luna. I remembered having the sparks with her and her scent caught my nose, I knew she was my mate. I mated with her and we were together for two months, but then something happened. You came along and I rejected her, not even thinking twice about it because I wanted you as my mate. I made you my mate, made you my wife, but you….you…” I said, trying to compose myself as suddenly everything came together in my mind like a jigsaw.

  “You did that, didn’t you? You made me think that you were my mate?” I asked, looking at her and watching as she smirked at me.

  “How else was I going to become the Luna of this pack? She tried to tell you, so I had her locked away before she had the chance to.” Bonnie replied, shocking me. She did all of this, tricked me and made me lose my mate, just so that she could be the Luna of my pack?

  “WHERE IS SHE BONNIE?!!!” I shouted, growling at her, but before she could answer I heard a voice coming from one of the cells further down.

  “Here. I’m right here. I’ve been here for the last eighteen years.” The woman said, stunning me into silence.
