Alpha Mark’s P.O.V
I walked down the hall looking in each of the cells until I came to the very last one. I looked inside and saw her straight away. She looked so dirty and her hair was filthy and matted, like it hadn’t been brushed or washed in years, which considering how long she was down here didn’t surprise me. She looked thin, too thin and her skin had lost its color, almost looking grey. She looked so unhealthy, but how was she down here all this time without me knowing? Was it because the guards followed the orders of their Luna?
“Cindy, is that really you?” I asked, needing to be sure.
“Yes, it's me, but there are some things you need to know. We need to talk.” Cindy replied, but all I wanted to do was get her out of that cell.
“Why didn’t you call out to me when you sensed me down here?” I asked, confused.
“I….I never called out to you because we were never mates, my love.” Cindy replied, shocking me. How is this even possible? I felt the sparks, her scent made me immediately recognise her as my mate, so how?
“SHUT UP YOU STUPID b***h!! YOU WILL RUIN EVERYTHING!!!” Bonnie suddenly shouted, which only confused me even more. Ruin what? I had already rejected Bonnie and now I knew that she was never my real mate, so what else could they possibly ruin?
“Bonnie, you know this has to be said, my sister. If we don’t say something now then he will never be able to find his real mate and she will be able to handle the two girls.” Cindy replied, confusing me even more. What the f**k? So neither of them were my real mates and all this time I still had yet to find her?
“You both deserve to be in these cells.” I said, growling at both of them.
“GUARDS!” I shouted and two of my guards came running towards me.
“Yes Alpha.” They both said, bowing their heads to me.
“No food or water for these two women for a week. I don’t care if they beg, do not give them anything. Don’t even go near the cell doors, this woman is no longer my Luna or the Luna of this pack, she is a traitor and will be treated as such.” I ordered, using my Alpha tone so there could be no misunderstanding.
“Yes Alpha.” They both replied, bowing their heads again. I walked out of the cells and outside, still confused by all of the revelations I had heard in the past few hours. I thought Cindy was my true mate, but then Bonnie came and I thought she was my true love, but they both lied and tricked me. I shook my head, trying to sort out the scramble that was now my thoughts and went to my office. I sat down behind my desk and pinched the bridge of my nose, trying to come to terms with all of this. My phone vibrated on the desk and when I picked it up I saw that I had a few missed calls from Sophia. I clicked on her number and listened to it ring, taking a deep breath and preparing myself for her to answer.
“Hey honey, sorry I missed your calls. I was in the cells talking to your mother.” I said as soon as she answered.
“Hi dad, I was only calling to let you know we made it and I have got settled in. I had a feeling you would go to her when I left. What happened?” Sophia asked and this was the question I had been dreading.
“You don’t want to know, sweetie, but I am now more certain than ever that I made the right choice. She is no longer my mate or my Luna, she is dead to me. I’m sorry you had to find out like this, but I’m sure there is more she is hiding and I’m going to find out what it is.” I replied, sighing. Sophia and Casey had been through so much and now even more was being thrown at her and her sister.
“I know you will, daddy, but just try and get some sleep, okay. I love you.” Sophia said, making me smile.
“I love you too, my angel. Goodnight.” I replied and hung up the phone. I was so tired, but I had so much going through my mind that sleep was the furthest thing from my thoughts. I grabbed a bottle of bourbon from the cupboard in my office and poured myself a glass, swilling it before gulping it down.
Casey’s P.O.V
I’m still in a state of disbelief, first I found out I had a sister, then I actually found my sister and now she is here, living with us. It was a sad thing that her mom and dad split up and it made me feel guilty because it was due to me going there. I take the blame for that, but her mother was more at fault. I mean, why didn;t she warn my parents about what was coming? She said they were human and that her and the rest of her kind lives had to be protected, but why kill them? They were the only family I had and she had them killed to stop them from revealing that they were werewolves. Why didn’t she just get the witch to wipe their memories after they wiped mine? They would never know, everyone would be protected and my parents would still be alive. I was sitting in my office, thinking everything over and it only led me to even more questions, but then there was a knock on the door.
“Enter.” I called out. The door opened and to my surprise Jessica walked in.
“Jessica, I see that your back, well obviously your back. How was Paris? Did you find your mate?” I asked, caught off guard when she walked in. Jessica was now thirty years old and still hadn’t found her mate, which made her depressed, so after searching for him in most of the packs in America, so a month ago she decided to go to Europe. The last place she went to was Paris, but from the look on her face she still hadn’t found him.
“Nope, no such luck. Maybe it's just not meant to be, maybe I’m just not meant to have a mate and I’m okay with that, I guess. I could focus on other things and become the pack’s healer or become one of the top warriors, anything is possible. So, when I came back onto the territory I felt that we had a new member, so who is it? How are you doing now? I know you were looking for your sister Sophia before I left, so how is that going? Have you found her or any leads as to where she may be?” Jessica asked, making me smile.
“I am doing really well and yes we have a new member of the pack. I found out where my sister was and went to see her, only to discover her mate is Guss, one of the guards here, so she is the new pack member you felt. I’m sorry you haven’t found your mate yet, but don’t give up hope and yes, you can become whatever you want to be, anything is possible.” I replied, shocking her and her eyes lit up.
“For real, girl. I’m really happy for you and obviously for Guss. I know he has been looking for his mate for the longest time. So, when do I get to meet her?” Jessica asked and even though I knew she was happy for Guss and my sister, I also knew she was a little sad, but was trying to hide it.
“Tomorrow after she gets home from school. She graduates in a few weeks and her father, Alpha Mark should be here in a week to visit and stay for her graduation.” I replied, but Jessica looked confused.
“What about her mother?” Jessica asked, making me sigh.
“There is a lot I need to fill you in on.” I replied and began to tell her everything that had happened, from Alpha Mark rejecting Bonnie as his Luna to discovering that she was the reason my parents were killed.
“Wow Casey, I’m so sorry, but it's not your fault, in time that woman would have gotten what she deserved and it just so happened that it was the day you went there. They say Karma's a b***h and now she has met justice for what she did.” Jessica said, making me feel better.
“Thank you, Jessica. It's nice to have you back, you have been missed. Have you seen Katherine yet?” I asked, but she shook her head.
“She is next up on my list.” Jessica replied, letting out a chuckle.
“I’ll see you later.” I replied as she walked out of my office. I knew she was sad, thinking that she was meant to be alone and even though if that was what was meant to happen I knew she would be okay. She’s strong and could overcome everything thrown in her way, but I just hope she did have a mate out there.
