Chapter 3
Casey’s P.O.V
I turned the letter over and placed it down on the bed, then grabbed a pen and notepad, writing down the address. It made me wonder if Sophia had gone through her first shift yet or if she even knew she was a werewolf when she lived with us, but then again she was a child, so how could she have known. Would she remember my parents and the short time she lived with us or was she too young to remember that? I thought to myself as I put everything back in the box, apart from the adoption paperwork and the letter from my parents, then put it to one side. I grabbed another box and opened it up to reveal more paperwork and photos. At first they all looked like the same photos I had seen before, but as I looked through them I noticed that a few of them were stuck together. I carefully pulled them apart and when I managed to separate them and then looked at them. I saw my parents and me, but then I also saw another picture of what looked like another man and woman standing. The pictures were slightly discoloured due to being stuck together and I had to squint my eyes a little to make out what they were. The woman looked like she had long red hair and from what I could see she looked beautiful. The man that was standing next to her was handsome and had short black hair, but what surprised me the most was that Sophia was standing beside them. In this picture she looked to be about fifteen years old, with long red hair and she was very pretty, but it was her eyes that made me instantly recognise her and they were the same eyes from the baby picture I found two months ago. She might have only been my sister for a short amount of time, but I still wanted to find her and let her know I’m here for her and wanting to get to know her. I put everything back in the box, but kept out everything relating to Sophia and put the lid back on it before putting it to one side.
“Okay, mom and dad, what else are you hiding? Why did you even hide this from me in the first place? Did I really just forget that I had a sister? This is all so confusing.” I murmured to myself. I sat there thinking for a bit and when I looked up I saw that it was almost time for training. I knew I was a little distracted, but I wanted to go and see what new moves they were going to show me, so I got up off the bed and hurried out of the room and down the stairs. I reached outside where Ryan was standing and he turned smiling and kissed me softly.
“So, did you find anything?” Ryan asked and I nodded. He looked surprised at first and then nodded for me to continue. I took a deep breath, still trying to piece together everything I had found out.
“I found a fair bit actually, some adoption papers, photos and a letter from my parents telling me what happened and how she came to them. My parents said that they found her in the woods and they didnt know she was a werewolf until her parents sadly came to take her back after three years of them officially adopting her. I also have an address and I want to look it up to see how far away it is. Maybe I can even find a phone number as well because I don't want to be just knocking on their door, asking where my sister is and if I could talk to her. They would probably think I was crazy and laugh at me before kicking me off their territory or worse, seeing me as a threat and trying to kill me or locking me up in the cells. I don't want that to happen, so after training I’m going to go to the office and get on the computer to see what I can find.” I replied and Ryan nodded, agreeing with me. I just hope this wasn’t all in vain and my sister was still alive.
Sophia’s P.O.V
I stood behind the trees, watching everything. Thank the Goddess I have this spray to hide my scent or I would have been found trespassing. I saw her standing there beside her mate and I don’t know what they were talking about, but before I came here I told my parents that I needed to find out if my sister was still alive and sure enough she was, but what shocked me was that she was a werewolf just like me. I remember everything about her and her parents, but I wonder if she knew or knows anything about me? I tried listening in on their conversation and could hear little bits here and there, but it didn’t make sense to me and then I heard her say that she was going to get on the computer to look something up. Oh, so she's a computer holic, I thought to myself and softly chuckled. I stepped back slightly so as to not be seen, but I accidentally stepped on a branch, making it break and knew that I now had to leave fast. I turned and ran just as a guard came up and looked to see what the noise was, but thankfully he didn't see me and I knew that he couldn't smell me. Maybe I’ll come back again soon and see her. If she doesn't know about me then I sure don't want her to be surprised or shocked by the sudden news. I knew that her parents were murdered years ago, but for the life of me I don’t know why because they were such kind and loving people, who would never hurt or be mean to anyone.
