1796 Words
Falling into pieces The young she-wolf tried to catch her breath after hours of running. She knew that if she won't success with the given task she might lose the custody of her little brother. Since their parents died she only had him. When she saw the house lights she took a deeper breathe to calm her nerves. Whenever she met with Gaia or whoever this woman was in reality, cold sweat rolled down on her spine. Her wolf was afraid with right. She knocked softly on the door and not a lot later a familiar voice answered. - You are late Camille. - the girls rushed in closing the door behind her. Camille's eyes met Gaia's cold and calculating stare. She hang her head down. - I'm really sorry. - Gaia laughed. - Don't tell me sorry, tell it to Josh. - Camille lifted her glance to met the pair of cold eyes again. - I did what you asked for! Now it's your turn to keep your promise! - she snapped at Gaia who stood up and with the motion of her hand lifted Camille in the air. The young girl was suffocating.  - Don't ever question me Camille. - Gaia used to be a sweet and caring young woman, but everything have changed since her first shift. Nobody knew apart from her wolf, Scarlett, that Gaia was dead for eighteen years now. She was buried with the real body of the woman who now possessed her body....Mary Hill.  - I w...won't do it again. - Camille pressed out the words of her now blue lips and Gaia let her fell to the floor gasping for air.  - So tell me what have you found? - Mary asked while she sat comfortably at her armchair and stared at the still struggling Camille. She was gorgeous, young and reminded Mary of her young self. If this identity didn't serve her so well in the last eighteen years, she would've steel Camille's life instead. For Camille's biggest luck, what she didn't even assumed, she was too worthless, and Mary needed power.  - They fooled everyone. The pups their Luna had, survived. - Gaia laughed. - I knew this already. Why I sent you there is to find out if the pups were special. - Camille stared into Gaia's eyes and swallowed hardly. - They seemed normal to me. - Mary knew she lied. She felt the fear coming from her direction. Mary gave her a smile and moved her arm in the air. The next moment there was Josh, Camille's little brother sleeping in Gaia's arms. He was only five years old. Josh had the same golden blonde hair as his sister and Camille's brown eyes opened wide.  - I promise! I only felt a really strong aura, but  nothing else! The Alpha and Luna are training them in secret and only their inner circle meet their pups regularly! This is all I know! - Camille almost shouted and Gaia lifted one of her fingers in front of her lips. - Sh... you will wake him up. - she said caressing the little boy's head. Camille's eyes filled with tears.  - Let him go please. - she prayed. Mary smirked and walked to Camille. She gave her the boy and Camille sobbed in relief.   - You did your job well. I might look for you later, I might need a testimony so don't go far.- Mary said and Camille nodded, she was about to leave the house when Mary's voice stopped her. - I almost forgot. Obviously you can't talk about this to anyone. Just to make sure you will keep your pretty little mouth shut, I cursed your brother. - Camille gasped in fear and looked ta her little brother who looked perfectly fine, but she was smarter then underestimate this b***h.  - I won't tell to anyone. - Mary giggled. - I'm sure. If you will he dies,  and this charming little boy will have a long, painful death you wouldn't even wish for your enemies. - Camille's eyes filled with tears again but she nodded.  Gaia walked to her and put an arm on her shoulder. - About the custody, I also did my part with the council. Congrats, he is yours. - Camille for the first time since she entered into this house took a deep breath.  - Thank you. - she said and left. Mary sat back to her chair and poured a glass of red wine for herself. She leaned back and smiled while she drank the wine. In the last eighteen years she did every possible step to make her revenge work. She wanted to eliminate Alexis from the world, but also cause her pain before she dies and that pain was to ruin her family's life. Mary had s*x with all the powerful man in the council and she was their lover, making them do whatever she wanted or their mates will find out their infidelity, which was a sin for the council members. Mary was lucky that the council was such an old fashioned institution. She used magic to cover the infidelities from the mates so these women didn't know about anything. Men got hat they wanted and she also had a lot of fun with so many puppets. The only problem was Estelle, Gaia's mother. She started to suspect that Mary wasn't her daughter but for now she managed to  put Estelle's doubts to sleep. Council Agosti was wrapped around her fingers. Mary laughed out loud. - Oh  I love when everything goes as planned! - she drank another slip of the wine and an irritating voice in the back of her mind talked to her. Gaia's wolf helped her as long as she kept her promise on not hurting Gaia's family. - I will love the day when you fail. Nothing will make me happier then see your plans fall apart, and death will be a reward after this life. - Scarlett said and Mary just laughed at her. - Sweet Scarlett, you are stuck with me for an eternity. - Scarlet growled and scoot back to their mind Mary stood up and before she left her secret little home she grabbed a viol and drank its contents. Her skin got finer and the wrinkles became almost invisible. Mary not only worked on her status and puppets, but she also learned finally how to possess dark magic. She wanted more than her old pack. She wanted chaos and power. The house door closed behind her and after a few words it disappeared from the eyesight of the curious people. She shifted into Scarlett and they ran back to Gaia's parents house.  When Mary rushed in Estelle gasped in surprise. - Darling, I thought you were asleep.  - she said looking her form head to toe. Estelle felt that something was off with her daughter. Gaia wasn't aging as she should and she wasn't even worried about finding her mate. She was the oldest mate less she-wolf in their Pack which made Estelle worried.  - Sorry mother, I just needed a run. - Estelle handed her a PJ dress and Mary pulled it over Gaia's head.  - Can we talk? - Estelle asked and Mary forced a smile on her face. - I'm pretty tired actually. - Estelle's eyes almost pleaded for her and she sighed. - Okay. - they sat down at the kitchen counter. Mary turned to Estelle an asked. - So, what do you want to talk about mom? - still felt weird for her to call Estelle mother.  - Dear you are turning 36 soon, don't you think you should find your mate? - Mary frowned and got pissed off. Estelle  kept asking this from her for years now. She forced a sad grimace on Gaia's pretty face. - Mom, what if my mate is dead? Do you really think I don't want a mate? But I just couldn't find him. It hurts enough without you questioning me about it all the time! - she spanned at Estelle and forced herself a few crocodile tears out of her eyes. Estelle felt horrible, because she didn't think about this possibility. She embraced Gaia and hugged her to her chest. Yet the warm feeling of holding and comforting her only child didn't come. She felt emptiness whenever she touched her since Gaia's first shift.  - I'm sorry dear. I didn't think about it that way. You just seemed so careless, you met so many men and went to thousands of parties, I thought....- she said and Mary saw the opportunity to escape from the conversation. She pulled her head away to stare directly into Estelle's eyes and she spanned at her.  - What mother?! - she stood up abruptly  and took a step further raising her voce to be sure Agosti wakes up. - You thought just because I haven't found my mate I became a w***e?! - Mary was almost screaming and Gaia's father came to the kitchen after hearing the arguing.  - What the hell is going on here? - he asked in a sleepy but annoyed voice. - Mom just accused me to be a w***e!! - Mary pointed at Estelle whose eyes opened wide. - I didn't say that! - she said but Agosti was angry. - Estelle, why are you mocking her about this all the time? - he asked and Estelle couldn't believe the fact that her husband took Gaia's side when he was as worried about this issue as her. - You are as worried as I am! We just talked about this yesterday! Why are you taking her side now? - she attacked her husband and saw that a glimpse of greenish mist appeared in his eyes. She glanced at Gaia whose eyes were sparkling with the same light for a second and she started to put together the pieces. - Anyway! This doesn't give you right to falsely accuse our daughter! - Gaia pulled herself out of Agosti's hug and she screamed at them while she run upstairs. - I can't believe this, both of your attitude is disgusting! - she rushed up and shut the door, hearing Gaia's parents fight for several minutes before silence came to the house. She sighed and leaned down in the bed but sleep didn't come because Scarlett barked. - You said you won't hurt them! - she said and Mary groaned. - Are they wounded? Are they bleeding or suffering?  - No, but emotionally... - Scarlett started and Mary laughed. - I never promised I won't hurt their soul. - Scarlett howled in desperation. She must find a way to get Mary killed before it gets too late.
