Deepness within me
8 years later....
Asher
- Come on Ash! Even my old ass can beat you! Alex are you sure it's yours? - uncle William shouted and my blood boiled in my veins. We have been trained by him, Sebastian, our father, and our mother since the day we first shifted. Although uncle William was the only one who tried to beat down my ego. His son Axel was 13 years old already and he made him fight against me. I had to admit that Axel was an incredible fighter but I had to be careful with him. Axel hasn't shifted yet. I heard my mother screaming.
- Will be easy on him! You have been training for almost 4 hours already. Take a break! - I glanced from my uncle's grey eyes to my mother's. Hers was filled with worry and proudness, but William's only looked at me like I was a piece of cement that he needed to form into something wonderful. I clenched my teeth and took a deep breath getting up from the ground. My hair was full of dust and my clothes were shattered. My father and mother tried not to hurt me but Uncle William was a beast. I loved him anyway.
- Will, Lexi is right. Give that boy time to breathe! - Uncle Sebastian joined my mother and I noticed that Rory was already sitting near. She has been training with Sebastian while I got Will... She seemed very tired but linked me.
- Swipe off the smile from his face! - I smiled and winked at my sister. She was my best friend and partner in crime. I loved her so much that I doubt I can love my mate with this intensity one day. Rory was a lot different from me. All the family called her Foxy because she was careful, calculating, and quick.
- The last round! - I exclaimed and uncle Will have grinned.
- That's my blood. - I rolled my eyes and caught a glimpse of my father's proud smile while he walked behind my mother and embraced her. Rory grinned and I didn't take my eyes off my Uncle's legs. Mom and dad taught me to always pay attention to my legs because those can tell from which direction the attack will arrive. But this time uncle Will have shifted and his large wolf growled at me. I felt my mother's worry. I smiled at her before I shifted as well. My wolf now was as big as a regular Alpha wolf, but a copy of my mother's. Will stroke directly at my neck but I managed to avoid it. His wolf barked excitedly and continued his repetitive attacks. I felt like a mouse who tried to escape from a cat. Will managed to scar my wolf's, Reagan's, right ear. He howled with anger and took control of our bodies. I knew why my uncle did such a bold move. I still couldn't find the right connection with my wolf. Sometimes he just took over control and I had to clear the damage he did. Rory's wolf was different and I envied my sister for being able to be in harmony with her. Reagan attacked Will's wolf and wounded it deeply. I heard Aunt Lisbeth scream.
- ASHER HILL! STOP THIS NOW! - but my wolf was the descendant of the real Alpha. He didn't take commands from others. Reagan didn't even care about our father's howl. He wanted to kill my uncle and I was trying uselessly to stop him. Suddenly a large blueish shield covered Will and Reagan couldn't stop before he hit the wall. He howled in pain and gave the control back to me. Aunt Lizbeth and my mom rushed to Will and checked his injuries. I looked at him and offered my hand to help him get up. He accepted it and groaned in pain.
- I'm really sorry uncle Willy. - all my previous pride and anger faded and it was replaced with a sense of guilt. He grinned and pat my back.
- I have been worse. But kiddo, you really need to learn to control that puppy inside. - he said tapping on my forehead. He went home with his family and everyone left the training arena. I stayed there alone and linked my wolf.
- Why are you doing this? We need to be a team! - he scoffed.
- You are not a worthy candidate for me.
- How could you say that? I'm my parents' son. The next Alpha. I'm true, honest, and hard-working.
- Yet weak. Even your sister can manage her wolf. - Reagan laughed at me. As we were growing he became more distant. I heard someone's voice in my head.
- Reagan shut up! - I looked around and noticed that Rory was behind me. She sat next to me and squeezed my hand.
- Don't worry, you only hurt our Uncle's pride! - she giggled but this time her laughter couldn't bring joy to me. Rory frowned her eyebrows and punched me in the shoulder.
- Get your ass up. Everyone is waiting for you at the dinner table! - I held my head in my hands and sighed.
- I'm not hungry. - I lied and my stomach rumbled. Rory grabbed my hands and pulled me up.
- Yeah of course. Come on! - she walked ahead but I stayed at my place. I stared at the ground and whispered.
- He is right. - Rory turned around and put her hands on her waist.
- Excuse me? - I looked into the same pair of eyes I saw every time I looked into the mirror.
- Reagan is right. I'm not strong enough. - I felt a sharp pain on my cheek. Rory slapped me so hard that my ears rang.
- Enough of this bullshit. You are too good for that egomaniac! - I felt how Reagan came to the surface and before I shifted I shouted to Rory.
- Run! - I felt trapped inside my body while my wolf counterpart was about to kill my sister. Rory didn't move, just stared into Reagan's eyes. While he quickly approached her, Reagan was only a few inches away from Rory when she sighed and tapped the ground with her hand. The ground became hot as hell and Reagan howled in pain while it burned his paws. I fought for the power for my body. Reagan quickly cooled down the ground make it icy and slippery. Rory slipped and Reagan launched himself at her.
-ENOUGH! - I shouted in my mind and somehow managed to get back the control. When my feet landed on the ground I was human again. Rory smiled at me proudly.
- Finally. - I grinned at her but frowned immediately after she said that.
- You saw this? - I asked. Rory had special powers but she kept many hidden from us. I think because she wants everyone to love her for herself.
- Put on some clothes and let's have dinner! I'm starving. - she whined and I followed her orders. I ran to our bedroom and pulled on some clothes. We will turn eighteen soon, yet we decided to keep sharing a bedroom. I know it sounds weird but honestly, we grew up together, until we find our mates I felt better with my sister nearby. Since we turned out to be a special kind of wolves like our mother, I was worried that one day someone wants to take her away from me. When I was finally presentable, I rushed down to the dining room. My parents and sister were already waiting for me. I took my seat in front of Rory as usual and excused myself for making everyone wait.
- Don't worry my baby. - mother said and she smiled at me caressing my hand over the table. I sat next to my father who radiated a bit of anger. This time Reagan wasn't brave enough to show himself. We ate in silence until my mother shoots an annoyed glance at my father. When dad didn't say a word I assume she kicked his leg under the table because my father's face grimaced and looked at me immediately.
- Asher, you are very lucky that your mother could stop Reagan. You must learn to control your wolf son. Our Pack needs a balanced, strong, and cool-headed Alpha. As long as you can't work together with your wolf, you won't be Alpha. - I felt sadness and anger, Reagan tried to come to the surface again but I managed to keep him down. Rory showed her thumbs up.
- He is working on it, dad! - Rory argued and our father growled at her, but my sister stood her stare. Out of nowhere our mother stood up and hit the table with both of her hands. Using her Alpha voice she whispered at us.
- Stop this now! We are family! We must help each other! - a chill ran down my spine. Our mother never needed to raise her voice, Cassia, her wolf, was powerful enough to make all of us submit even if she was only whispering. Dad stood up from his seat and walked to her embracing her in his arms.
- I'm sorry Fairy. - he said and kissed the top of mom's head. She smiled into his chest and relaxed. They took their seats again and I turned to my mother.
- I'm really sorry what happened earlier with Uncle Will's mom. - she looked into my eyes and smiled.
- No worries. He provoked you, Ash. Will is bold but not crazy, he knew perfectly that if things will get out of hand I'm going to save his ass. - I felt a little more relaxed.
- Let's talk about something happier, like our birthday! - Rory squeaked and dad chuckled at her. I only shook my head, Rory had a special ability to change the mood wherever she went.
- Great idea! - mom cheered up.
- So pups, what do you want? - dad asked and his eyes were smiling again.
- Nothing too big. - I said and heard a loud scoff coming from the other side of the table. Mom and Rory had the same expression on their faces.
- Did Uncle Will hit your head too hard? - Rory asked and I had to chuckle at her grimace.
- No.... - mom shook her head.
- You only turn eighteen once. This will be the ceremony of the century, behind closed doors of course. - our smiles faded. We trained hard in these last eight years, still, our mother was too afraid to let the world know about our existence. Dad looked at us and he sighed.
- Alexis, we might reconsider this. They are almost adults, if we want them to be complete and happy, the world has to know about them. Another way, how could they find their mates? - mom's expression showed conflicted feelings, after a few minutes she sighed.
- Fine... But carefully. - with Rory we both jumped up from the table and landed in her neck knocking her to the floor. We started hugging and kissing our mother and she laughed under our love attack. After a couple of seconds, we were lifted from her and dad helped her to her feet. They shared a kiss and pressed their foreheads together.
- Would you like to go for a midnight run Fairy? - dad asked and mom's eyes shined with admiration.
- Of course! - they waved and shifted leaving us alone in the dining room. Rory collected the plates and we took them to the sink. Since it was really late and the kitchen staff was already sleeping, we did the dishes and went to our suite. After a quick shower, we were both in our beds and Rory asked.
- What do you think, who will be your mate? - I shrugged.
- I have no idea. I dated a few girls but none of them felt like the one...
- Oh, this is why you broke up with Clara? - Rory sat up and asked curiously. I sat up as well and turned the night light on.
- Yes... Our birthday is in few days, and if she was my mate, I think I would already feel something. -I admitted. Clara was a cute girl, funny and caring but also a bit too tacky. Rory frowned her eyebrows.
- Probably. I never liked her anyway. - I chuckled out loud. Rory never liked any of my girlfriends. She didn't have a boyfriend because she had a crush on Enzo since we were kids.
- I know who you want to turn out being your mate. - I said and Rory blushed.
- Enzo...- I said teasingly and found myself hit by a pillow.
- Come on Rory! I know you are into him! Just please don't be too disappointed if he won't turn out your prince charming. - Rory lifted her pinky finger.
- Pinky promise. - I laughed at her childish ways. We both leaned back to our beds and I said to her before we fall asleep.
- I love you Ror!
- I love you too Ash!
