We were standing in the office with our kids and they just dropped that they can communicate with their wolves. We thought that at least eight more years will pass until we have to deal with this. I have planned to teach them how to fight and increase their stamina to have strong and capable human bodies. Now we have to find a way to teach their wolves as well, and we have no clue what powers will they hold. We shared a glance with Carter and I saw the same worry in his eyes, but he held my hand and smiled. Together we are capable of everything.
- Is this a bad thing? - Asher asked and Rory was standing behind him. He was so much like Carter. they inherited my reddish-brown hair color, their eyes were silver just like mine, with the only exception that around their pupils there was a tiny sun shape in their father's golden brown color. After what happened with Mary, Carter hated his eye color for a while but I assured him that I've never seen anybody else in those eyes but myself and the love he holds for me. His eyes and his arms always meant home.
- Not at all darling. - I said and walked to them to hug them.
- We just got surprised. - Carter added and came to hug our kids as well. Rory grimaced at us and said.
- Then why are you feeling worried? - we shared a glance with Carter and frowned at Rory. She was always very intuitive but this sentence was different. She knew what we felt not assumed.
- For me, they seem fine. - Asher added but while he talked we felt his power and it was really strange to feel my kid almost as powerful as I was.
- They are worried. I can feel it.
- You are not ordinary werewolves. - Carter said and we motioned to the seats. Ash and Rory sat down next to each other and we sat in front of them with Carter. Both of my babies looked at us with innocence in their eyes and I hated myself at that moment. I knew that from today their childhood must end and I wanted to give them what we never really had with Carter. Cassia barked in the back of my mind.
- With great power comes great responsibility.
- Don't quote from Spiderman now! - I scolded her.
- It is true even if you don't like it! - she barked back but after that Cassia shut up.
- Mommy is The Real Alpha, her wolf is the first wolf spirit ever existed. The Real Alpha never had kids before so you are the first ones in the history of our kind. This is only why we are worried because we don't know what kind of powers you will have. -Carter started and his handheld mine. I felt worried but his touch made me calm down a little bit.
- Powers? - they asked in unison.
- Yes. My wolf can get into anyone's mind, she can pull up a shield and her strength, power, and stamina are better than any other werewolves'. - I said and my child's jaws dropped.
- It seems like Rory can interpret people's true feelings, and you Ash, you have almost the same amount of power as your mother. This is all we know for now.
- This is so cool! - Asher jumped up and smiled proudly.
- But it's scary as well. - Rory added.
- Why didn't you tell us this before? -Asher asked and we felt that the most difficult part is about to come.
- We have to keep in secret that you exist, at least until you are fully capable of controlling your wolves. There might be bad people out there who are afraid of different. Your grandmother used to be one of them. She tried several times to hurt your mother.
- So this is why we always traveled between uncle Sebastian and Uncle Will's packs and not in any other places. - Asher stated and we nodded. Rory gave us a weak smile and she said to her brother.
- Don't be angry Ash. We are different and this is a good thing but we have to become the best version of ourselves.
- But this is not the only reason why we didn't tell you this yet. - I sighed.
- Your mother and I didn't really have a childhood. She was trained to be an assassin and the greatest Hunter. Her parents used rigorous methods to train her and uncle William. In my case since I was destined to be the next Alpha of our Pack, Pops and your grandmother kept me under eagle eyes basically. - Carter said and they just stared at us then at each other. Rory smiled at Asher and turned to us.
- Thank you. - we frowned with Carter and Asher nodded.
- Yeah. - he scratched the back of his neck just like Carter used to do when he was nervous.
- We didn't realize how lucky we are. - I smiled at them and heard Carter sigh in relief.
- But now that we know all this, how can we help? - Rory asked and I felt prouder than ever. My kids were mature to their age and just as brave as we are.
- Well, I think we must start your training. - Carter said and I nodded.
- Actually, I'm really curious. - I said and all of their glances turned to me.
- About? - Carter asked.
- I'm curious if they can shift already. - my kids' jaws dropped again and I started to worry that their faces will stay this way if we continue like this.
- I don't think they can- Carter said and I frowned.
- It can't hurt to try it. - Asher said and we both smirked. After a couple of minutes, we were running with Carter in our wolf forms with our pups on our backs. After we arrived at a glade right between the three Packs we shifted back and grabbed some clothes Rory had in her backpack. Seby, Sara, Will, Lizbeth, Enzo, Alba, and Axel were already there waiting for us. Asher growled, he was nervous about the whole shifting thing and I assumed he didn't like the audience. Rory blushed when she noticed Enzo and he waved to her. Alba and Axel were the same age, Alba was only a couple of months older. Axel was the perfect combination of my brother and Lizbeth. He had the same facial structures as Will, and golden blonde hair, with piercing silver eyes. From his eyes playfulness radiated but intelligence also shined behind those silver eyes. Alba was a genuine beauty, she inherited all of her mother's Latina features and her father's chocolate eyes.
- Why did you call here everybody? - Asher hissed between his teeth.
- Because they are our family and if something happens it's better if they are here to help. - I said and Rory's eyes widened.
- What could happen? - she asked with fear and Asher scoffed.
- Don't worry Rory, the worst thing that could happen is that we will embarrass ourselves in front of everybody. - Rory glanced at Enzo and swallowed.
- Everybody? - her confidence flew away and Carter hugged her turning her to him. He grabbed Asher's shoulder as well turning him in his direction, when they both faced him he said.
- You can't embarrass yourselves in front of those who love you the most.
- That's right! - Seby screamed and they turned to him giggling.
- Except if you are your father. Am I right Wolfy? - Will asked and I couldn't hold back my laughter when Carter growled at him.
- Okay kids, are you ready? - Seby asked and we stepped further from Ash and Rory. Enzo lifted his thumbs up while he smiled at Ash and Rory. He was Asher's best friend and they had something for each other with Rory which was undeniable. We winked at each other with Sara because we both hoped that they will turn out to be mates one day.
- How should we do that? - Asher asked and Carter said.
- You must clear your mind first, then just focus on your wolf and you should let him/her take the control of your body.
- Being a werewolf means that there are two souls living in one body. Your own soul and a wolf spirit the Moon Goddess granted to you. - Seby explained.
- If you are in a great relationship with your wolf you can work as a team and learn how to shift faster and fight as one. - Lizbeth added.
- This might hurt for the first time but you are tough little fellas! You can do it! - Will grinned. Rory and Asher closed their eyes and we all waited for something to happen. After a couple of minutes, I heard a cracking sound. Ash closed his eyes harder and his body started to change. His hair became a clear silver fur, his nose elongated he fell to his knees. His hands and legs turned into furry paws. When his transformation was complete he had the size of a regular wolf but his appearance was almost like Cassia's. Asher's eyes shined with a blueish silver light and he had a similar mark on his forehead. Rory opened her eyes and gasped when she saw Asher's wolf.
- Wow. -she said and caressed his brother's fur. I mind-linked my son and asked.
- How are you feeling?
- Strange. But I did it, mom! - he barked proudly and his tail waggled. Carter shifted as well and he started to play with Asher's wolf gently. After a couple of minutes, they shifted back.
- So what's your wolf's name? - Enzo asked Asher.
- Reagan. - we smiled at him and then I glanced at Rory who now stood behind everybody and she stared at the ground. While our family congratulated Asher I sneaked to my daughter.
- Hey baby girl, what's wrong? - she didn't look me in the eye.
- Why couldn't I do it? - I heard the pain in her voice. I kneed in front of her and smiled at her.
- Maybe you just need a little more time. Would you like to try it again? I'll help. - Rory now stared into my eyes and determination shined in those pretty eyes.
- Let's do this mommy! - I nodded and put my forehead against hers. We breathed in and out together and I felt like we were traveling to another reality with her. Cassia channeled her wolf and Rory slowly started to shift as well. I closed out every other sound, just focused on our breathing. A blueish swirling light started to form around us and we both lifted to the air. "Well this is new" - I thought and kept focusing. Rory and I shifted together and when we landed on our four paws I opened my eyes looking at my baby girl. She was also the size of a regular wolf but her fur was rose gold colored, her eyes almost shined out of her face and the mark on her head was reddish.
- Foxes Under Cover Karen!!! - Will shouted and we all laughed for a second at the way he said f**k, I was hundred percent sure that Lizbeth made him swear like this so with luck Axel won't talk like a sailor before he turns sixteen. Carter and Asher's jaws dropped.
- What was this Fairy? - he asked while I shifted back.
- Wow Rory! You look so cool! - Asher screamed and Enzo also ran to her. They both caressed her fur, even Alba and Axel walked there to watch her form closer. Asher shifted back to his wolf as easily as it was his thousands shift and the kids started to play around.
- I have no idea. She was sad that she couldn't shift and I let Cassia help out Rory's wolf. This is what happened.
- Well sis, congrats. Nice job! - Will pat my shoulder and grinned at Carter.
- Fine congrats to you too. - Carter shook his head but in the corner of his mouth, a smile tingled.
- I think you should train them. - I turned to Will.
- We might be too soft with them considering that we are their parents. - I added and Will started to laugh so hard that he held his stomach.
- Oh come on! I will help of course but you need to grow up. - I pulled my tongue at him and we all watched how our kids played. Carter embraced me from behind and I snuggle with him, I glanced at our family. Seby was sitting on the ground with Sara sitting between his legs and they watched the kids as well, while Will held Lizbeth's waist with his hand. I knew that together we can handle any obstacles. But now it was time to celebrate, worries for another day.
