Chapter 3

Us, they, we

5 years after Alba was born...

Carter, Alexis, and Alpha Donovan were sitting in Carter's office. After what the old Alpha said to them neither Carter nor Alexis could say a word. They processed a bit what he just said and Alexis smiled gently at him. Alpha Donovan was a good-looking, kind man in his late fifties. He was Carter's father Phillip's great friend and loyal ally.  Carter cleared his throat and looked into Donovan's wise brown eyes.

- Are you sure about this Alpha Donovan? - Alexis took the word while she smiled at Donovan.

- You don't have to do this. We are gladly helping you with anything, you or your pack need. - Donovan lifted his hand in the air to stop the youngsters from talking. He smiled at them and said.

- Your concern is heart-touching, but I've made my decision. - he turned to Alexis.

- Ever since the first time I saw you Alexis Hunter-Hill I knew it that you will make great achievements. The way you two lead your Pack and what I saw during my drive here only put the point on the I. Your Pack members are happy and well-balanced.  They were kind and helpful like I just happened to be in a totally different galaxy. I just want this to my pack members as well. We are a small Pack and I prefer to join yours and give up my title knowing that my people will be in great hands, then struggle to keep my pack members safe just to hold my title. Also, the Moon Goddess didn't grant me a son, but I have three incredible daughters. Two of them are mates with my greatest fighters, the third is the apple of my eye, she is still young and here she will have many great examples to follow. 

- How about the mates of your daughters? I'm pretty sure one of them would gladly take your position. - Carter said and Donovan laughed.

- I knew you will say that they are waiting outside of the door. - Alexis stood up and opened the door. Two young and handsome, well-defined men were standing there just how Donovan said before. 

- Liam, Jerry, come in. - Donovan said and they bowed a bit to their Alpha while they walked in, but as soon as their wolves sensed the power that Alexis radiated they both showed their necks in submit to her. Alexis giggled and showed at the chairs next to Donovan.

- Please take a seat. - she said and they answered in unison.

- Yes Alpha! - Carter frowned and Alexis shrugged. 

- As you can see, I think their wolves are on my side in this idea. - Donovan said laughing. Liam and Jerry took their seats and Alexis walked back next to Carter's. 

- Liam and Jerry, we wanted you to join us because Alpha Donovan just asked us to take in the Sparrow Pack, and we would like to know what you think about this idea. If you would prefer to take the position of the Alpha we grant you that we will stay your allies and help the Pack with anything you need. - Carter said in a diplomatic voice but Liam and jerry couldn't take their eyes off Alexis. They stared at her with respect and curiosity. Carter growled a little and the young wolves turned their glance at him.

- Sorry Alpha Carter. We didn't mean to be disrespectful with you or your Luna. - Liam said, his green eyes showed sincerity. 

- We just heard the rumors about The Real Alpha and it is intruding to be in the same room as her. - Jerry added and kept his glance at Carter. 

- As for your question, I don't wish for the position of the Alpha, but I hope I can have a great future in your Pack as a fighter or maybe a coach. I just want to give to my Carry the peace and love she deserves. - Liam said and Jerry nodded.

- I'm on Liam's side in this. I don't want the title, both of our wolves are great fighters and loyal but they don't have what we would need to be a great leader. - Jerry added. 

- Also I want to help Lillian with her plans to open a little bakery, and if we are in a bigger pack her dream has more opportunity to come true. - Jerry said with love in his eyes. He was the mate of Donovan's middle daughter and Liam was the mate of the oldest daughter. After their confession Carter mind-linked Alexis.

- What do you think Fairy? - Alexis stole a glance at her beloved mate and smiled.

- I think we need more bakeries. 

- Can we handle so many people? I mean our pack is already huge, not to mention Sebastian and Will's which are our brotherhood Packs. Together we almost have our tiny kingdom.  

- I don't think that is a problem. After all, the alpha Balls and the number of necks showed in submit I'm actually surprised that we have only this amount of pack members. - Carter laughed in his mind. Alexis changed a lot since the first day they met. She became more secure and brave. She finally understood that her past is not what defines her, but her future decisions. She used her impeccable skills to train the fighters and Carter could proudly say their pack was the best and strongest. Will and Lizbeth did a hell of a good job as well. Just like Alexis, Will also helped to train their warriors, so they could peacefully go on vacation from time to time. William and Lizbeth had a son, just a little after Alba was born, and he got the name, Axel. Will wanted Alexis to be his godmother and chose this name for him as respect for Alexis. Carter came back from his memories just to see the three pairs of staring eyes at them. Alexis smiled and Carter said.

- In this case. - he stood up and Alpha Donovan did the same.

- Welcome to the Hunter-Hill Pack. - Donovan shook his hand and Liam followed his example just like Jerry. 

- Thank you, Alpha Carter. - Alpha Donovan said. The old Alpha cut his wrist and Carter did the same, their blood mixed and everybody in the Pack could feel the presence of the new members. Carter and Alexis joined Donovan to his car and they drove to a smaller cottage house near the city.

- If you like this house it is yours Alpha Donovan. - Carter said and Donovan smiled.

- Just Donovan, Alpha. I think my wife and my Angelica will love this little house. I just can't wait to bring them home. - Donovan said and both Carter and Alexis could hear the peace and relief in his voice. 

- Make yourself at home and tomorrow we will hold a huge party to welcome our new members. Luckily we have many great W.R. Wolf resources workers who can easily help your pack members to find a suitable job in our territory or in any of the companies we own. Also if they desire they can visit our brotherhood Packs and stay there if they like it more. - Alexis said and Donovan smiled while he held her hand and gave a tiny kiss on top of it. 

- I made the best decision of my life. - Donovan said and Carter grinned.

- I'm glad you feel that way, Donovan. - the old man looked into his eyes and then at Alexis's. 

- I really don't want to be indiscreet, but nine years ago, on the Alpha ball when you first attended Luna, I noticed that you were expecting. May I ask what happened to your pups? - Alexis and Carter shared a glance. Nobody ever asked about their kids. They were glad about this because this was the first time in history that the Real Alpha had descendants. For their kids' safety, only their Pack knew about the existence of Asher and Rory. Carter and Alexis were a kid and wise rulers, that is why everyone respected them and their pack members would die for them or for their kids. Alexis sighed and nodded. Carter took a deep breath and said.

- What we will say now, you must keep in secret even for the price of your life. Are you sure you want to know? - Donovan nodded and pulled himself higher.

- First, let me swear for you that I'll be loyal and true to you Alpha Carter, and to Luna Alexis. I'll fight for you as I would for my own kids and you can always count on my family. This is the least we can offer for what you just did for us! -Donovan cut his hand again and shook Carter and Alexis's hand. It was a blood contract what the old Alpha did, he will not be able to break it ever. 

- We have a son and daughter. - Carter said and Donovan's eyes opened wide.

- We keep their existence in secret, only our pack and family know. Until we learn more about their possible powers we need to keep them safe. - Alexis said.

- So for nine years you managed to keep their existence in secret, and none of your members split the word about them? - Donovan asked and Carter laughed.

- Exactly. To be honest Alexis can be really convincing. - Donovan looked at Alexis who demonstrated what her husband meant. Donovan felt her power and he without thinking bowed to her. his wolf whimpered in his mind and he heard Alexis's wolf voice in his mind. 

- Dear Donovan I hope you will be truly loyal to us. I won't let anyone to hurt my pups. They are Untouchable. - Donovan lifted his glance at Alexis and her eyes shined with a blueish silver light while he heard Cassia's voice in his mind. 

- Now I understand. - he smirked at Carter and Alexis let her hold off him.  

- Impressive. - Donovan said. - I just swore to keep this secret. I'm a parent as well so I  know how far we are able to go for our kids. I can't wait to meet the future of our kind. - he added and bowed. Alexis and Carter left him in the house and ordered a few of their fighters to help Donovan's pack to move to their territory. When they were back in the office Carter seemed a bit uneasy. Alexis caressed his hair and asked.

- What are you thinking about? 

- I'm just wondering if it was the right choice to hide Asher and Rory's existence. - Alexis sat on his lap and embraced his neck with love. Carter looked into her eyes and smiled. Alexis always made him feel better with only a glance or a simple touch.

- We did the right thing. Not even Cassia knows what will our kids turn into. It's her first time being a mother this is why she keeps an eye on every pack member to keep our secret. She can invade in their minds and see if they are plotting something. - the heard a soft knock on the door and Alexis screamed.

- Come in! - Asher and Rory walked into the office and closed the door behind them. They were almost ten years old and both of them grew a lot. They were each other's copies from the outside but in the inside they were each other's opposite. Asher had a really strong aura already and he was born to be a leader. Rory seemed to be a mystery. She was reckless and intelligent but that side of her only showed when it needed the rest of the time her power was hidden and she seemed to be quiet and shy. This wasn't one of those moments. 

- Mom, Dad, we are hearing voices. - Rory said.

- What do you mean? - Carter asked with concern.

- We hear someone talk to us in the back of our minds. But it can't be our wolves, we are too young to have them. - Asher said and Alexis looked into their eyes. Cassia connected with Asher and Rory's mind and she howled with joy.

- What is it? - Alexis asked in her mind. Cassia howled and jumped around in happiness.

- My pups are there as well! We did it Alexis! They are the lasts of the Real ones and the first descendants! - Alexis's jaw dropped and Carter hugged her from behind. Asher and Rory stared at their mother with impatience. 

- Asher, Rory, my babies, you are already connecting with your wolves.  -she turned to Carter and continued.

- Cassia just said. Asher and  Rory have their wolves already and they are like us. They are the first descendants of the Real Alpha.
