Crushing dreams
Alexis
The twins birthday was quickly approaching and for our biggest surprise since the incident Asher was more capable to control his wolf. I watched how Rory helped to her brother train and also I caught them meditating together one morning. Asher was struggling to stay on the same spot but Rory was the balance herself. I just watched my kids and smiled at how different yet so alike they were. I tried to keep quiet and not to disturb them but Rory in a calm and slow voice said.
- Mom I can literally hear you smiling. - my jaw dropped and she opened half of her eyes smiling at me.
- You can join if you want. - Rory said and I shook my head.
- No, thanks dear, but I don't want to interrupt. - Asher also opened his eyes but his was pleading to me. My son linked me and said.
-" Mom.... Please tell me there is something urgent we need to do! I don't care if I have to do the dishes either just save me!" - I laughed out loud and Rory frowned her eyebrows.
- Fine, we can finish for today. - Asher sighed out loud in relief and Rory scoffed. Ash jumped up and offered his hand to his sister. She grabbed it and Asher pulled Rory to her feet effortlessly.
- Now that your meditation session is over, we might talk about the party. - I said and their eyes opened wide and filled with excitement.
- We have decided to invite all the Alphas we are allies with, also, obviously, our Pack and your Uncles' packs as well. - I noticed when I said this that Rory's cheeks blushed. I glanced at Asher and he grinned imitating the way Enzo usually stood, putting his arms behind his back and I winked at my son telling him I got the message.
- Won't that be too many people? - Rory asked now without her blush.
- Rory is right mom. This is way too many people. - I looked at them and shrugged.
- It is your birthday after all. So what do you suggest? - I asked and they shared a look then turned to me.
- Let's invite the Alphas, our Pack and the closest family. We don't need three Packs to celebrate our birthday. - Asher said.
- Yes, although we understand why you and dad want the Alphas here. You want to make sure to find out who is still loyal and who means harm. - Rory added and she caught me out of guard. Our daughter was really intelligent and she had way more abilities she showed. I was hundred percent sure that she was able to look into our souls and find out our fears and desires. I nodded and hugged them under my arms. That is how we walked in the Pack house to meet with the kitchen staff to talk about the menu. Carter was already there and we let the kids handle their birthday menu. Carter hugged me from behind and kissed the top of my head. While we watched our kids giving out orders and suggestions Carter mind linked me.
-" Everything is going smoothly. - I snuggled to his chest more and inhaled his sweet scent.
- Maybe you will be right after all. - I mocked him and felt a large hand grabbing my ass. My cheeks blushed and felt the caress of my mate's breath on my neck. All my hairs stood up when he whispered.
- I'm always right. - he pulled me closer to let me know how much he desired me. I sneaked a hand behind my back and grabbed his hardening member before I whispered back, glancing into the now black eyes.
- Except when you are not. - Carter growled with lust and pulled further a bit before he decides to eat me on the kitchen table in front of our kids. Actually I turned on as well, but I agreed with this movement. We will have plenty of time for this kind of entertainment. After the kids chose everything for their birthday we all headed to our office. Asher and Rory sat down one next to the other and we in front of them just as usual. Carter cleared his throat and said.
- The Alphas will arrive a day before your birthday, that means tomorrow. We decided this way with your uncles and aunts just to be able to filter out those who might mean threat. - Asher and Rory scooted closer to each other. I saw fire in my son's eyes and his muscles tensed. He was so overprotective with Rory, that it made me wonder how he will act with his mate one day. I forced a smile on my face and added.
- Obviously, we will tell our farewells to those Alphas who might ruin your big day with their presence. - our kids stared at me suspiciously but accepted the explanation.
- We would like to ask if you can show them your wolves, but hide your powers. Seeing that you are both alive and stronger that anyone would've expected will be enough surprise for them. - Carter said.
- Luckily most of them are close friends, we are only worried about the older Alphas who might be a bit too conservative. - I added with a disgusted grimace which caused my beloved children giggle. They nodded in understatement.
- Tomorrow morning they will be here, after a big breakfast and the revelation of your existence we will head to the training arena and show them a tiny presentation. You don't have to worry about anything by the way. We nor your uncles will let anything to happen to you. - Carter told to them and I felt my blood boiling to the image that someone might want to hurt my babies. Carter noticed my eyes which now shined with a silver and blueish light. He put a hand on mine trying to calm me but Cassia came to the surface and she growled.
- None of those suckers can touch my pups. - I turned back to myself for the laughter of my kids and they jumped in my neck hugging me strongly. They knew that I would rather die than let anything bad happen to them. Their father was on the same page, but Carter has been a werewolf for all his life and even after all these years sometimes it was a bit difficult to share my body and be in full control.
That night I fall asleep with a heavy feeling on my chest which prevented me from a goodnight sleep. I had the worst nightmare of all time and it felt too real. I was in a middle of a battlefield and my kids were captured. I couldn't move and felt trapped in my own body, all I could hear was their cry and Carter's angry growls. Also a laughter which sent a chilling shiver through my spine. I opened my eyes wide and sat up gasping for air. Carter sat up next to me and for the first time since we were together his touch couldn't calm me down. The first sunrises shined into the bedroom and I felt like I was drowning.
- Fairy. What's wrong? - he asked in a calming voice but I was still trembling.
- Maybe this was a horrible idea...- I whispered and got up to get ready for the day. I put on makeup to cover my tired and worried expression and Carter watched the whole process from behind. He was already full dressed. I jumped into a pair of skinny jeans and a plane t-shirt. If there will be a fight I wanted to move easily. Carter felt my fear and uneasiness but didn't say a word. We walked down to the dining room hand in hand and took our seats leaving two chairs unoccupied at both of our sides. From my side Will, Lizbeth and Axel took their seats. From Carter's side there were Seby, Sara, Enzo and Alba. I took a deep breath while I saw the dining room getting filled with Alphas. They all greeted us like old friends but Cassia had all her furs in the air from frustration. She became a mother, and the motherly instincts took over her mind. After everybody sat down, Carter squeezed my hand and stood up.
- Dear friends. Thank you all for coming today. As you might suspect we gathered you here today to make a big announcement. - the Alphas moved excitedly on their seats and they all steal glances at me. A few of them might thought that I will take over our Pack, since I was the Real Alpha, others thought that we might have another pup.
- As you al know, my dear wife and Luna was expecting our pup eighteen years ago. - they all looked surprised and some of them a bit sad. When we went to the next Alpha ball after the birth of our pups nobody dared to ask about them. Carter locked eyes with me and I took a deep breathe. I saw in his eyes that he doesn't know how to continue. I stood up and cleared my throat.
- We are really sorry that we kept this in secret for such a long time. But since what happened never actually happened in our kinds history, we wanted to make sure that what we have is something pure and great. - I have never seen so many confused faces in my life. The many door opened and our pups walked in side by side. They radiated a f*****g strong aura which made many of the Alphas show their neck immediately and their eyes opened wide when they noticed our kids eyes.
- We would like to present you Asher and Rory Hill, our pups. - Carter finished and the silence was so intense that we could hear the singing of the birds. All the eyes turned to our kids while they walked to our side and took their seats. Nobody said a word just stared at them. Rory smiled gracefully and I felt how she changed the atmosphere in the room. Everybody became less tensed and they also smiled a little.
- It is really nice to meet you all. - she said with the most enchanting smile and we shared a proud glance with Carter. Asher took the word.
- I believe you all have tons of questions, and with my sister we will gladly answer them all after the breakfast. Also we would like to ask you not to judge our parents decision on hiding our existence. - my son talked like a real Alpha that moment. I saw Carter how he smiled at Asher and my heart almost melted at the love his eyes showed towards our son. They will be fine. All the Alphas nodded after a brief pause and we started our breakfasts. I noticed that Rory stared at everyone, Sebastian also did the same. They were trying to figure out who was honest and who had hidden plans. I also noticed something what finally made my fears disappear for a second. Enzo couldn't take his eyes off of my daughter. Sara also got her son staring and she mind linked me.
-" Tomorrow their biggest dream might come true! - she cheered in my mind and I answered.
- Let's survive today first. - Sara pulled her tongue at me and nodded towards Axel and Alba who were chuckling and playing with food canons.
- Speaking about pairing. - I said and Sara giggled.
- What can I say? My pups have a great taste! - with this last thought I was finally relaxed and enjoyed the breakfast. For now I didn't see anyone with hatred, they were only curious and that was a good sign.
