Chapter 9

In a heartbeat Rory I felt terrified while we waited for our father's signal to enter into the dining room. Incredibly strong feelings invaded me when Asher opened the door. Before we entered he gave me a reassuring smile and whispered. - There is nothing to worry about Rory. - I returned his smile and took a deep breathe. The door opened and at least twenty pair of eyes turned to our direction. Asher pulled himself a bit taller and I tried to look composed. They all stared at us like we were some strange animals in the zoo. I could feel our parents worry and pride as well. When we all finished to talk and also our breakfast all the gathered crowd went to the training arena. They wanted to see what we could do. Father decided that we will give a little one on one fight with Asher and that's it. We both stripped into our training suite and I heard a few whistles and compliments but those words hurt my ears instead of bringing joy. Although one sound did drew a smile on my face. When a younger Alpha commented about my ass I heard Enzo growling at him and it made my heart jump in joy. I concentrated at my brothers moves. We trained a lot together but his wolf Reagan was still unpredictable and today he must act like they are a real team. Asher grinned and our mother shouted. - Let's the fight being! - the crowd went silent and we made circles around each other. I felt their emotions. They were interested in Asher's powers and also they got interested in me but in a very different way. I looked into my brother's eyes and could tell that he felt as well these feeling, and he didn't appreciate them either. We started a training fight using our best moves to impress the other Alphas and earn their respects. Mom told us not to use our powers, she didn't want any other leader to feel too intimidated. Everything went fine and we got a round applause. We shifted back and Asher covered me with his own body while we got some clothes to put on. He walked with dad to chat with the other leaders and I took a little break. Asher's strength was way larger than mine. In only a few minutes I heard his wolf's loud growl and our father shouting to him to Stop. Asher I hate the way they stare at her like she was some kind of prize. Rory is my sister, descendant of the Real Aloha as well but they don't show any sign of respect towards her. I managed to keep Reagan calm until we walked away with father and while he chatted with the other Alphas I had to get to know their sons. Luckily Enzo was there as well and as I could tell he wasn't the biggest fun of these boys either. There was one which specifically annoyed the hell out of me. His name was Christopher. We arrived to their group with Enzo when he said to the others. - Have you seen her ass? What a magnificent view. I hope I could bite in it and show her how a real Alpha is. - from Enzo anger radiated but he was a f*****g diplomatic guy not like me. I raised my voice and said. - I only hope that I heard you bad Christopher. - they all turned to me and most of them showed their necks slightly but Christopher only stared into my eyes and grinned. - I didn't know you have problems with your hearing. I said your sister looks delicious. - that was enough for Reagan. He let out a loud growl calling everyone's attention to us. Enzo held my arm and whispered. - Ash calm down. - he knew perfectly what I was capable of. But it was too late. I shifted and launched at Christopher. He almost didn't have any time to shift but for his biggest luck he did it just in time. The way I wounded him in his human form would've killed him. My father shouted at me to stop but there was no way back from the point I was in. That pathetic piece of s**t insulted my sister in our own home and he also dared to growl at me. He had to die. I kept attacking Christopher and he was already bleeding heavily. I felt how every pairs of eyes stared at me like I was some kind of monster. Reagan was even angrier than I he wanted to extinguish Christopher's life. He was laying on the ground covered with serious injuries, which take weeks to recover from, even for a werewolf. When Reagan was about to bite down at Christopher's neck and end his life suddenly a blueish shield covered him and I saw my mother's wolf Cassia slowly approaching us. She was furious and her power made me surrender immediately. She pulled back the shield and my father stepped to her covering her with a blanket until she shifted back. I stared at the half alive Christopher while the Pack doctor and his father checked on him. Christopher's father started to shout with mine. - Carter! How dare your son attack mine?! What for? This should've been a friendly visit and my son is almost dead. He did nothing wrong! - I felt how my blood boiled again and Reagan growled in the back of my mind. -"Nothing wrong? Seriously!?" - Calm down Joseph. Asher made a mistake but don't you dare to tell me your son was innocent. The other kids told me he was talking about my daughter in a freaking way that is a good reason for what happened. - my father raised his voice but Alpha Joseph kept his pokerface until my mom walked there and slapped him across the face. This time he didn't try to growl. My mother's authority was above all Alpha's. -You should thank us for saving your son's sorry ass! - she turned to the others and said. - If any of you dare to talk similar way about my daughter I won't stop any of my family members from killing you. - I glanced at Rory and she looked me into the eyes. Her eyes were filled with tears and my heart clenched. Did I do something wrong?
