Adrian's POV
Its been hours since we had been waiting outside the operation theatre and a few minutes back the doctor gave us the news of Ana's death. But thankfully they were able to save her baby.
I can't believe any of this!!!! It was just a few hours back that I started from our house excited to sign a contract with my dream company and now it had turned out to be the worst day of my life. Today I've lost two important people in my life, my sister and my brother and friend, Kevin. The only good news is that my niece is safe and healthy. My mom is now admitted here as she had fainted hearing about Ana's death and Joanna is staying by her side.They said that her blood pressure had suddenly shot up. Eventhough my dad and Albert are breaking down inside, they are trying their best to manage the situation. Chase and Dave are trying to control the media as they have created a frenzy about the accident but we have not officially confirmed any news yet.
Now I'm sitting outside my mom's room with Aves by my side. My little sister is a really strong girl. She is the only one who has been able to think straight and manage the things here. I'm extremely lost and devastated, and I haven't talked to anyone till now. I was in deep thought when I heard Aves sobbing. I could see that she was talking to a lady in scrubs, but I couldn't see her face. I ran to her panicking (We can't handle any more bad news today) As I got near her, Aves looked at me crying and smiling at the same time and said, Ad its our Ana's baby. Our little niece. Ana told Elena to name her Iva...........
When I looked at that lady, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was my kitten with my little niece in her arms (Ana was right, there is something called fate and destiny. Seeing my kitten, I felt a sudden calmness took over me. I looked at my niece. She is so small and beautiful. She has Kevin's green eyes and Ana's brown hair)
Suddenly my kitten asked us, 'Can I see Mrs.Camilla. I want to discuss a few things with her'. Aves led her to my mom's room and I followed them. As soon as my mom and Joanna saw Elena and Iva, they started crying. My kitten went near them and tried to console them. She tried to give Iva to my mom and Joanna, but as soon as my kitten let her go, Iva started crying. Mom immediately gave her back to Elena and she stopped crying instantly (I think my niece only trusts my kitten)
The conversation that took place then shook me to my core. Elena held my mom's hand and said, 'I'm really sorry for your loss. Please don't cry and stay strong, for little Iva needs us all. Ana told me to name her Iva Rose Williams. I didn't know why Ana felt familiar at first. Now I know that she was the one I had saved from the accident that day. I feel like its my fate to save Ana and her baby and that's why I promised her to take care of Iva. I really meant what I said back there. I don't know for how long I'll be able to take care of Iva but I want to be there for her. Because that was Ana's last wish and I wish to fulfill it. But I just can't figure out how I will manage everything'. By now Elena was crying. My mom hugged Elena and started crying too.
I can't believe it...Is she the one!!!!! The medics who had brought Ana to the hospital that night said that it was really God's hand that worked through the nurse who saved her. Mom cupped Elena's face and said, Elena you are really an angel sent to us by God. You saved my Ana's life that awful night. Ana trusted you with Iva over all of us and I will fulfill her wish. She asked me to take you as my daughter and from this day on, you are my daughter. You are our family. I think even our Iva trusts only you as she is not letting you go. So please come with us to our home for Iva. You can even consider it as a job. Elena, please consider this as a mother's request'. My mom requested her and to my surprise Elena agreed.
I can't quite figure out what is happening here. So, my kitten is the so-called "angel" who had saved Ana's life that night and whom Ana had been searching for all these months. Now Ana had trusted our Iva with her over all of us and asked my mom to consider her as her daughter. Elena agreed to all of this and now she is coming to live with us.......I don't know if its selfish of me to feel happy right now. There is something binding all of our lives together and I feel like Elena will be with us for a long time.
Its already night and by now, we all have learned to accept our loss. We have officially announced the news of Kevin and Ana's death and their funeral that is planned on the day after tomorrow. Chase, Dave and Kayden are dealing with all of those. Mom is now okay and she will be discharged tomorrow in the morning. Aves is staying with her in the hospital for now. I had sent Albert and Joanna back home after Elena showed Iva to them. I am sure that they need some time alone.
We had a talk with the Inspector in the evening and he had told us that it was a hit and run and the car was yet to be found. The car was also unregistered which is really suspicious. It had hit both the truck and Kevin's car. The truck lost control while swerving and crashed into Kevin's car. The police are also not leaving out the possibility of a planned hit and run and therefore the investigation will be done in that direction too. So, dad has gone with him to complete the formalities. Ana and Kevin do not have any enemies, not any that I know of. But still someone tried to hurt them. Ana's previous accident was also a planned one. Someone had altered the brakes of her car that day and we couldn't find the culprit till now. I should've done something then or Ana wouldn't have lost her life today. If I find the culprit, I will kill that person with my own hands. No one knows, but I have my connections in the American mafia and they will pretty much do anything for me. Even I was a part of it till a few years back. So, I will hunt that person down and kill him brutally. Mom also asked me to solve Elena's issues. I used my connections and made the hospital administration to permit her a special leave for a period of one year. I don't what my mom is planning but when I asked what will happen after a year, she said that she knows what she is doing and that we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I can feel that she has some kind of plan in her mind.....Even I can't understand my mom at times.
I decided to go back home for now as I have to meet the media in the morning for the official address. But I am so happy that my kitten is taking care of our Iva. I heard my mom telling to Aves that Iva is so attached to Elena already and that she doesn't allow anyone else to touch her other than Elena. I also saw the love in my kitten's eyes for Iva when she was in my mom's room.
Ana, you chose the right person to take care of your baby and I'm sure that, this angel will give her innocence and sweetness to our Iva too. I promise you that I'll take care of both of them till my last breath..............
