Chapter 19
Reeze pov
I was just about to get up and head outside to see how the training was going. My mate was at a Luna meeting and she would be home in a few hours. I knew how she hated these things. She wasn't just a luna, she was a warrior luna. She didn't do all the flower picking and the party planning. She trained every single day with the warriors and she was by my side during wars. I had a mate once. But she died during a rogue attack. It wasn't her fault or mine. They snuck up behind her stabbing her in her hearts. Yeah I said hearts. When I found my second chance I didn't think I would find in a warrior but I did. Since then we had been together for almost a thousand years. I opened the door, almost bumping into my son. He was about to knock on the door.
"How many times I have to tell you Erick you do not have to knock. You can walk right in even if I am in a meeting or on a call?"
"Sorry, dad. But I need to talk to you about something. Something my wolf Spike had said."
"Alright, come on in I have free time, there is nothing to do and your mother won't be home for another few hours." Erick nods then goes to sit down on the couch.
"Dad, is it true that you was in love with an Elf. And my mate is probably an elf."
"damn son. You're not beating around the bush are you? Yes to be honest. Many years ago I was in love with a Elf named Sabrina. We were mates. She was with me for almost two hundred years until we had a rogue attack. They snuck up on her stabbing her in her hearts. But before she died she killed a few rogues. It took me years to get over her. I still think about her from time to time. And I know what you're thinking son. Your mother knows all about her. They were friends. I never would think your mother would be my second chance mate but she is. And I love her more than anything. She knew I loved Sabrina. It took me years to mourn her. I'm still mourning. You see, son. Once your soulmate dies. You will always mourn her. Even if you get a second chance mate. You will miss her and love her for the rest of your life." I sat there listening to my father. I could tell he was being honest about his first mate and my mother. I knew he loved my mother. And vice versa. I looked over as my mother came into the office. She looked pissed. I guess the Luna meeting wasn't that good after all. My dad got up, walked over to her and hugged her.
"What's wrong Sunshine? Did everything go well?" sighing she hugged him back inhaling his scent.
"No! I ended up punching one of the lunas in the face. She just would not shut up about me. She kept saying lunas shouldn't be warriors. And I should do what I am told. So the only way to shut her up was to punch her in her mouth." Dad and I started laughing.
"Well mom, she should have never set you off. Then that would had never happened,"
"Besides. I like that you're a warrior. You put me in my place when I need it." my dad said." my mother smirked.
"Well someone has to."
"well SunShine. Our son has a mate. But he can't seem to find her. She is not in any packs, and he keeps going back to the tree that he smelled her at."
"Well, that's easy, his mate is an Elf. She might think you will reject her if you find out that she's an elf. So when she finally shows up. You better be nice."
"I will mom, I just wish I knew where she is, so I can finally claim her."
"It takes time son. Just stay calm. She will come to you."
