Episode 4-The prophecy

1690 Words
/Alex’s POV/ Life hasn’t been easy since my parents passed, worse Dad left me some shady errand to run after his demise, all of which was delivered to me by my uncle Landon. I’m an Alpha by blood, Alpha can be born or made, just like every other werewolf ranks like the beta, the gamma, and the omega, so my Beta, was also a beta by blood, though my beta Ezra and I have been together and work together since childhood, we aren’t exactly best friends, we are friends quite alright, we look after each other but best friends not really, for some reason my parents didn’t allow me to get so close to him. Landon called me a day after my father died, he mailed a book which was written like a diary to me and it was in my father’s handwriting too which means he wrote it himself…I learnt a lot from it, which included the m******e of one of the most powerful werewolves packs around the time, my father clearly insisted that as the future Alpha it was my duty to keep my pack but there was a story my father left me in the diary, he said we used to be a very small pack, yeah…I have memories of that because the pack only expanded that much over the past 12years. My father had lots of secrets and but few of them was stated in the diary, he stated that a prophecy was born by him because he murdered his own friend, I had no idea that was the type of person my father was though, but he claimed he did it for the pack, though he did show remorse that he wished he hadn’t acted hastily, I didn’t understand most things in the diary until I called Landon who explained that my father was used to causing the m******e, he was manipulated into killing his own friend and his son, because of this betrayal he born a prophecy that was about the destruction of his own pack as well but just like his friend, he wouldn’t get to see it, because the prophecy will only start taking form after his demise which make sense because he also didn’t let his friend witness the destruction of his pack, so…my father want me to collect the prophecy, analyse it and stop it from happening, he claimed he had sacrificed so much to make the pack what it is, which I agree on, now I have to clean up my father’s mess. So far, I’ve only managed to get one line of the prophecy which still doesn’t make any sense to me. I groaned recalling the few words of the prophecy ‘The seed of the fallen balsa in the red snow under the crescent moon’ I mean who talks in phrases for f**k sake, I thought as I ride to the bar the second supreme witch was waiting for me, after my father’s death the witches reached out to me and thankfully I had read my father’s diary or else I would have no idea what they were talking about, my uncle said he hates the witches because they had manipulated my father but the witches claimed they wanted to help me stop the prophecy that would lead to my pack destruction as the last favor they own my father for helping them rid an abomination, I was still new to all the news and it was pretty confusing, I’m guessing the abomination they were talking about was my father’s friend, at least they should have left the son alone to take the pack but they just have to kill the son too. Whatever, I thought…I don’t really give a f**k what happens in the past as long as my pack isn’t affected, I kinda regretted bringing Ezra with me to meet the supreme witch of the south though, because he was getting easily distracted, the moment we walked into the club set for the meeting he lost his mind, ogling at those dancing on the dance floor, I have always been envious of him, not only was he a skilled warrior, he was also good with people, he was fun, carefree and smart…something I didn’t have, maybe another reason why we are not so close was the fact that my father used to compare me to him, so…I always try to surpass him in everything, though he never considered me a competition but I always did...he was my beta but he could also become an Alpha, I knew Ezra would never do that though, he would never have to become an Alpha because there wouldn’t be a need to kill one. I wanted to collect the second line of the prophecy and be done with it but Ezra just have to sniff out his mate right then, like f**k I wanted to go home already, but a sudden envy kicked in…he even find his mate before me? I shook my head not wanting to think much of it, who knows I can also find my mate tonight. I took out my phone and texted the witch I was supposed to be meeting letting her know that I might be few minutes late, which she replied almost immediately that she didn’t mind, then I followed my beta to find his mate, I can’t believe the look on his face, he was looking so silly and stupid just looking at the lady, she had a very dark hair…probably raven or jet-black, a heavy set, the waitress shirt she had on had few buttons loose displaying the fresh edges of her boobs, I wasn’t checking her out…just seeing if she is a perfect match for Ezra and it seems she is, Ezra looked stupid with the love drunken look on his face after the lady handed us a beer-filled cup each, Ezra decided to sit down with her, one thing was strange though, if Ezra knew the lady was her mate, how did the lady not know. The lady didn’t give us a second glance, was she human? Or Vampire or was she a witch…no, she clearly has a wolf scent but how on earth didn’t she realise she was standing in front of her mate, well that question was answered, Ezra slowly moved his hand over the counter, he hesitated to cover her hand with his but eventually did and the gasped that left his mouth told me to affirm that she was really his mate, good for them? I thought rolling my eyes but the lady jack off his hand and raised hers to her chest staring at both of us in terror, was touching a mate such a bad thing, I wouldn’t know cause I’ve never had one but no one has ever told that type of story though, they always say it was something magical and exciting but the look on the lady’s face didn’t speak much for it and worse, she ran. “Did…did I do something wrong?” Ezra asked with a crestfallen look on his face while he slowly turned to me. “I don’t think so… go after her. Call me once you talk, I have to go meet the person I intend to meet in the first place” I told him and he nodded running after his mysterious mate. I shouldn’t have brought him with me…oh no! He wouldn't have found his mate, that’s just how it is, anytime there’s a chance for me to envy him… a pang of sudden guilt sprang to my chest. I stared worriedly towards the stairs where Ezra had raced towards then I felt a tap on my back, I froze at the sensation that travel through me, the sparks, the electricity that flow through me had me frowning, my mate? Was that even possible? “Alpha Alex- “How did you-” I was suddenly dumbfounded. “I’m Phoebe Kane, daughter of Circe Kane, my mother is the supreme witch of the south…I’m here to deliver you the prophecy, she is in an urgent meeting right no, I had to teleport to relay the message-why are you looking at me like that?” She suddenly asked and I realised I’d stared at her, taking in her every angle, she has a chestnut skin tone, wild frizzy ebony hair, she was of average height, lovely faint green eyes, the black dress she had on hugged her curves perfectly. “Are you listening to me?” She asked and I nodded reluctantly, of course, she couldn’t have felt the bond…she’s a witch, I’m mated to a witch? The realisation suddenly down on me, making me frown, but she grabbed my hand and led me to a free table. “I don’t know what you’ve seen that leave you in such a shock but I have to see into your head to continue the line of the prophecy” I froze at her declaration. “Excuse me?” I finally regained my voice. “It will only take a minute” And like that she held my head, her eyes glowed green for some seconds…but I was too shocked to do anything. “Shall become the raven that nest in the axeman’s roof but peak at the foundation” She suddenly sighs and let my head go. “The first line of the prophecy goes ‘The seed of the fallen balsa in the red snow under the crescent moon’ then it continues ‘shall become the raven that nest in the axeman’s roof but peck at the foundation- “The seed of the fallen balsa in the red snow under the crescent moon shall become the raven that nest in the axeman’s roof but peck at the foundation” I recited and frowned, this thing just gets worse. I thought and she suddenly stood and walked next to me to plant a kiss on my cheek, adding to my pile of shock. “I saw through your head Alpha, it’s nice to know I’m your mate” And like that, she was gone. ----------
