            Jumping up right out of bed I held my sheet to my chest and stared around the room. Slowly my eyes met ones that belonged to the Greek god from before. Swallowing a scream, I edged back towards my closet where my backpack and 9mm was hidden.

            Calm down he is our mate, his wolf does not want to hurt us, I can feel his wolf pleading with us to stay. Lilly quietly reassured me.

            I don’t know about this; how did he find us? How? I asked as I felt Lilly grow quiet. I stopped and stared at the figure while he did not move toward me, he just followed me with his eyes. There was not any malice in them, I only saw curiosity and wait was that love? Lilly? How was he able to find us?

            I …. I forgot to keep our scent masked when we came back, she squeaked. I rolled my eyes, sure yah did I thought.

            “Hello,” my mate said, startling me. He still has not moved from his position, only his eyes follow me, “I’m Logan”

            I nodded; “Vee” is all I mustered. My voice came out and cracked due to nerves, and I saw worry cross his face.

            “I’m not going to hurt you, I just wanted to talk to you.” He said as he tried a weak smile and raised his hands in surrender, “I can leave if you would like, but I’d come back with clothes and food, or we could go together? I can tell you need a doctor” he asked worry still streaked across his face.  

      “They know where you are!!!!” Zo screamed in my head

            “I ….” I went tense, the scent of rogues filled my nose as I ran to the window, “s**t” I dropped my sheet and franticly looked for my clothes. As I was looking for my pants, I saw Logan come to my side protectively and shield me from whatever made me tense. I looked at his face and saw it was bright red, while he handed me his shirt.

            “what’s wrong?” He asked in a serious tone, while he scanned the forest.

            “Rogues” I whimpered as I felt tears fall down my face. I looked up at him and felt the urge to cling to him. I grabbed his arm which made him freeze as I tried to hide against him.

            “where? I can’t smell them,” He said as he wrapped his arms around me pulling me closer to him if that were possible.

            “They are coming from the mountain road. There are a lot of them. I think they are feral” I said starting to panic. The feel of this man was calming me, however, the memories that keep playing in my mind are causing my heart to speed up and my breathing to become irregular.

            Vee calm down, we have our mate, he will protect us. You need to calm down. I can save us both, but you must calm down. She was pleading with me.

            “Lilly says I need to calm down, but I can’t,” I said when I saw worry cross his face again.” Those monsters killed my pack and stole my little brother” sobbing I buried my face further into him. He hugged me tighter and moved us towards the trap door. I saw his eyes glaze over and knew he was talking with someone.

            “Vee I need you to trust me, ok? We are going to leave and run to the woods where my pack is meeting us,” he said looking worried as I cried and just nodded.

            “wait, I need us to shift as soon as we get down there and I need you to bite me” I said as he furrowed his brow at me.

            I hope he bites us! Lilly purred, as I shook my head.

            “Bite you?” he said shaking his head while tightening his hold on me, “I could never hurt you” as he said this his eyes shifted from deep sea blue to emerald green and a rough growl emitted from him, “mine”

            I raised an eyebrow at him as he growled and said, “You are mine; I will not lose what is mine.”

            I watched as his eyes started shifting back and forth until his deep blue ones appeared again.

            “sorry Rex is overprotective of you at the moment,” he sighed. Staring at me again he asked, “why do you want me to bite you?” He slowly raised his hand and gently pushed a stray lock of hair behind my ear sending sparks shooting across where we touched.

            “I’m not expecting you to bite my arm off, but just enough to draw blood and drink it.” I said as I watched his brow furrow again. I sighed and grabbed his face with my hands to make him look at me. “Lil says if you bite me you can go invisible with me."

            “What?” Logan said dumbfounded

            Lilly took control to explain it quicker than I could, “Yes, drink our blood and you can become one with us, we will shield you from sight. However, it only lasts up to 5 minutes. That is the longest we have the strength to do.” Regaining control, I rushed him down the hole and quickly followed. I raised my arm and almost shove it into his mouth. “Hurry!” I hissed.

            Logan gently took my arm in his strong hands as sparks flew through my body and kissed then bit me. My vision blurred for a second or two before I knew we had to run. I shifted as did he and we bolted invisible to the woods.
