            I held her small arm in my hands while sparks and flutters coursed through me. I kissed the spot she wanted me to bite and gentle extended my canines into her arm until I tasted blood and swallowed. The sensation that went through me was like being struck by lightning. I released her arm and shifted, and it looked like I was surrounded by a mist or fog.

            “cool isn’t it,” Vee said as she bolted toward the woods.

            “extremely,” I said as I was hot on her trail.

            As we ran, I could smell what she did, and she was right a lot of feral rouges. When we broke the tree line, we were met by fifteen of my warriors and Sky. They didn’t know we were there until Vee let the mist go.

“Holy crap!!” Sky stated while staring at us like we had a third eye or something.

“I know what you mean.” I said as I shifted and put on a pair of shorts he handed me.

Vee walked a few more feet then collapsed with a whine. I immediately ran to her.

            “Vee!! Baby can you hear me? Whats wrong honey?” I was about to panic when she whimpered and lifted her wolfs head to me and I saw the wounds on her chest had reopened and a pool was growing under her.

            Dr. Ethan I need you to meet me at the pack house she’s bleeding, and I can’t stop it, I think there is silver in her wounds. She’s still in her wolf form and hasn’t shifted yet. I don’t know if she can.

            Make her shift, she’ll lose too much blood in that form, you’re her mate she should listen, and I’m on my way.

            “Vee baby I need you to shift. Please shift for me honey.” I pleaded with her.

She shifted but it was slow, and she was muffling her screams as she did. Tears were welling up in my eyes watching this. I scooped her up and started to run. My chest was now coated with her blood. I did not care, I mind linked Sky and let me know he’s got this.

            Running up to the house the front door opened, and Ethan was there waiting for me.

            “Put her on the table,” Ethan stated calmly, pointing where he wanted me to place her. As he reached for her, I growled at him in a possessive way.

            “sorry, just do what you have to.” I said as my mate laid there naked and bleeding.

            “what happened to her, these are not normal wounds.” He stated as he removed the old bandages. “there is a wound on her ankle and stab wounds on her stomach and shoulder. This girl put up quite the fight.” He whispered to himself, as I watched him quickly flush out her wounds and saw what looked like silver dust in mixed with her blood come pouring out.

            Ethan methodically stitched up and cleaned every wound and gingerly cleaned up her skin from all the blood. He gently wrapped her up with fresh bandages and gave her an iv. “She’s going to need a transfusion, but I need to draw blood to find her blood type and see what else is in her system. Someone wanted her dead. They almost succeeded. We need to find this out so we can prepare. I know we still have the rouges to deal with but we need to get some food in her and let her sleep, take her to your room and I’ll come back so we can discuss this further.” He said as he drew a vial of blood from her and ran towards the pack hospital.

            “I’ll be staying with her, so just come up when you got the information. I can’t leave her like this.” I said as I picked her up and pulled her to me. She nuzzled closer to me while I walked up the stairs with her iv hanging out of my mouth.

            I opened the door and walked over to the bed, I set her down and covered her up with the comforter while hanging her IV bag off the headboard. I moved to go to the bathroom and clean up, but she grabbed my wrist and whimpered.

            “hey, hey,” I cooed at her, “I’m just going to climb in beside you, but I want to clean up a little.” I said as I looked down at my blood covered torso. She whimpered again but let her hand fall from my wrist. My heart broke at the sight of her, “I’ll be right back love.”

            I quickly headed for the bathroom and hopped in the shower, I didn’t care if the water was warm or not. Sky how are things going on your end? Vee is stable but she went through hell.

            They are currently just sniffing around the cabin you came from; they are acting like they are looking for someone. They don’t even notice that we are here. What do you want us to do?

            Only attack if they head towards the pack grounds, for now we want to see what they do.

            Ok alpha, I’ll let you know if we have to engage.

            How many are there anyways?

            I’d say around 20 of them but they are acting like a pack not just some lone rogues.

            Hmm ok just keep your self safe and let me know how it goes.

I exited the shower and dried myself off. I left the bathroom and felt a pair of eyes watching me as I walked into the closet. I quickly put some sweatpants and a shirt on and headed over to the bed to see Vee staring at me with her eyes shifting between blue and green. I chuckled and climbed in beside her.

            “you know as much as I would love to act on the look you are giving me, you need to heal first.” I said while watching her face turn bright red.

            As she cuddled up as close as she could to me, I felt her slowly relax and calm down. There was a sudden knock on the door which made her cling to me and try to hide.

            I positioned my self in front of her in a protective way, “come in” I stated.
