Nathan thought it was all, the responsibility that comes with being an Alpha had ended the day he claimed the tittle. He had left the ball hall that night with the thoughts of him only supervising the attacks that comes in the village and also what even happens in the village. But then he was told that it was more than that, the responsibility he had agreed to carry upon himself far way more than. It includes meddling in other packs, helping them with treatise and also supplying them or goods or getting goods from them. List of the packs that were in good terms with the pack was given to him to master it well. It was as if his father was waiting for the perfect time to pass everything down to him. Nathan believed has been stressed and disturbed. He doesn’t get his normal sleep like he does before and each and every time he tries to rest, he would be waken up by either his father or a maid. He wonders when his beta would be back. His beta happened to be his childhood friend,Dylan. They lost the connections of being friends when the then Alpha was harsh on Nathan to only focus on how to be a proper and perfect Alpha. Some of his friends understood what he was going through, they even sympathize with him but some were ignorant enough not to see the truth. He would ignore wherever he sees them and lucky one, he won’t be leading them as most of them had died in a fire blaze that once happened while the rest had traveled to find their mates. Nobody knew the reason why Dylan had traveled, he told no one neither did anyone ask him why he was traveling. He only told them the day he would come back when he was informed of his position as a Beta. Now that Nathan is the Alpha and has the right to do whatever he wishes, he will amend his friendship with all his friends. It won’t be easy for him but he would try, at least his heart would be at rest. His father had warned him about what he said he felt about Lizzy, but he sees no reason why they can’t be mate. She is his foster sister hence they are not related. They never were because when Lizzy was found by his father, she was two years old already. She was found in the bush where he had gone for war and had said he sees no reason to leave a small girl there. Nathan was amused by his father’s bravery and kindness, at the end the little girl has a family now and she is his foster sister. When he had seen her on his coming of age, standing close a man he had never seen, he had to hold his calm not to pounce down the man. He had warned her about wearing dresses that shows her figures. He knew she always leave the pack to another village to purchase the dresses but at least she should buy the ones that are less revealing. Nathan sighed for the ninth time, he has been thinking about how his life is about to change and take a turn now. He is soon expected to have a mate but since the ladies in the pack are yet to have their coming of age. A gentle knock came on the door and he muttered a come in. A male maid made his presence in the room known to Nathan and bowed to show his respect to the new Alpha. “Your father, the old Alpha requested to see you in the office.” The maid informed with respect and Nathan nodded his head at the maid before he dismissed him. He later moved to check himself out in the mirror as how he always appears to people or even his family members matters. Satisfied with his looks, he ambled to the office that was now his. His father had moved to the attic since no one uses it again. “Good morning Father.” He greeted before taking a seat. His father flashed him a smile before the door opened and some people entered. Among them was Dylan, Nathan didn’t know when his face released a smile. “I welcome you all to my pack, my territory. This is my son Nathan and also his beta, Dylan. And Nathan,Dylan this are our neighboring pack from the north.” Nathan’s father introduced them to each other and they each extended their greetings. “They had come here with their cries, the enemies are attacking the weaker packs and soon, they had assumed they would be next. They have come here to ask for our protection and also to sign a treatise with us.”he explained, before sipping his afternoon tea. Nathan knew his father never misses the time to take the tea. He wonder why, why on earth will some takes something hot in the afternoon and claim it is refreshing. “I have agreed to that, because I see no reason why we should not help them. Nathan will take care of preparing the treatise and Dylan here, will take care of arranging the soldiers.” He ended. The leader of the pack held a huge smile on his face. He stood up and went round to thank them for their kindness. They later left for their packs as they had being in the pack for a long time now. Nathan and Dylan left together and headed to the office. “I’m sorry,Dylan” Nathan apologized. It was coming the depth of his heart, he had always wanted to tell him that, to apologize to him. “For what? For what exactly?” Dylan furred his brow. “For everything I had done to you and the rest. It wasn’t my fault. It was not supposed to be that way but I had to end it as I was asked to. I regretted ever doing that.” Nathan confessed. Dylan smirk, he was glad his friend has realized his mistake and is ready to make things right. “I have forgiven you a long time ago. I ignored you because I wanted you realize that what friends are and you have understand. I am glad.” Dylan told him. They did their brother shake and before Nathan decided to engage him in a talk. “So what did you do when you traveled?”he questioned. They laughed together before Dylan started to tell him of what had happened to him when he left the pack village. Blood will be shed, the hospital will be full reeking of blood smell but that doesn’t matters. All that matter was the safety of his people, his pride and he needs him the most. He picked the picket night he had always kept with him and headed to the door. “I want to join too.” He heard a petite voice called after him. “No.” He boomed, leaving no room for her to argue. “Nice to meet you, I am Aliyah, the last descendants of the kings pack. And this is my beta, Favor.” Favor flashed them a smile before they decided it was best for them to eat first before they get to business. It only took Lizzy three minutes to finish her food and also wants to leave the dining room but it will sound not polite and her father will be so mad at her for doing such a thing. He will rant and rant about her not giving the proper respect the guest deserves. He had done it once when his friend, the Alpha of the silver pack came to visit and she was then finding their conversation boring so she snuggled out of the room without everyone noticing. She got an earful for doing that, and since then she has never tried something like that again. She loves her peace of mind more.
