CHAPTER 7

Damian POV

I was sitting in my office doing some paper work like everyday. Being the Alpha of a big and growing pack I had a lot of things to take care of, the pack's finances, the territory, the places and jobs that everyone take, the education of the pups, the training, alliances with other packs, the problem of rogues and hunters and so on.

It wasn't an easy job but I am more than happy to do it and I also have the help of a lot of people in the pack especially my best friend and beta of the pack, Trevor.

That reminds me, I just sent Trevor and the twins to look for Cody and Lisa. Those two little kids are inseparable since the birth of Lisa being one year younger than Cody.

They enjoyed playing with each other in the forest and even if I have forbidden them to go farther inside the forest, they still keep doing it making all of us worry.

“Damian, I found them near the South border. It looked like they were attacked by three rogues but fortunately before they could get hurt, a wolf killed the rogues”. Trevor just mind linked me. When he said rogues I could feel fear grow up from inside but then he said they were saved by a wolf and I relaxed a bit.

“He must be a lone wolf and when he saw some pups in danger he attacked the rogues killing them in the process. Bring him here with you to ask him some question and also to repay him for what he did”.

“Well the thing is the wolf is a she and a young one at that”.

“This is surprising, I am very impressed even some grown up male wolf can't defeat three rogues at the same time” and I was really impressed this she-wolf must be special.

“Yeah I thought that too. Anyway we are coming now it will take us about 20 minutes to reach the pack house. See you soon” and with that he blocked his mind link.

I couldn't wait to meet this she wolf.

After about half an hour, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in". As the door opened a strong delicious scent hit me, it was of vanilla and roses and it spiked my wolf's, Shadow, interest.

After Trevor holding Lisa and the twins entered the room, a gorgeous girl came hand in hand with Cody. She was beautiful, long shiny black hair, amazing blue eyes and the gold in them made them sparkle and look so much lively but I could see sadness behind. Just thinking about someone hurting my mate made me want to rip them to shreds.

Mate

I would have never thought of hearing my wolf say this name again after Angela. Yes Angela was my first mate but she was killed in the war against rogues, she and my parents were killed in that war 4 years ago. I would have been in a mess or even worse killed my self if it wasn't for Cody and my pack that needs their Alpha. Cody was the only thing that remained from I and Angela's love. He was everything to me and I loved him with everything in me.

So here I was looking in the eyes of my second chance mate. I could feel that she felt something for me but she seems like she didn't realise it yet, and I won't tell her until she will be ready to acknowledge me as her mate and accept me without forcing the mate bond on her. Until then I will help her and make her comfortable. I just hope she will accept to join our pack. I could feel that the guys understood what she is to me by the way they were smirking and looking between the two of us.

"Dad, this is Skylar and she saved us from three rogues. Could she stay with us please, please, pleaaaaase" Cody came rushing to me making me break eye contact with Skylar. Skylar, such a beautiful name.

"Beautiful name for a beautiful mate. I would like to know her Wolf's name, I am sure she is beautiful" Shadow said dreamily. "I am sure she is".

Picking up Cody I smiled at him happy that he was safe and happy that he already formed a bond with Skylar.

After thanking her for saving my son and Lisa I asked the normal question any Alpha would ask to make sure the wolf wasn't a danger to their pack, even if I knew she wasn't I needed to follow the protocol.

Hearing her saying that her old pack and family abused her made my blood boil in anger I wanted to destroy them all for what they did to this innocent and pure creature.

The fact that she was also rejected was hard to believe, not because I didn't believe her but because it was hard to think that anyone would reject a beautiful girl like her. He must be a stupid one but I am thankful to him because if he didn't I would have never had the chance to meet her.

I then asked her if she would like to join our pack and prayed the moon goddess she would accept. At first I could see her insecurities so I ensured her that she doesn't need to worry and that nobody will hurt her. "As if I will let anybody hurt my mate" Shadow growled.

When she said yes I was on cloud nine, I was so happy thinking about seeing her everyday, hearing her angelic voice and getting to know her more and maybe one day she will realize what we are to each other and she will accept me.

After sending the children to bath and then sleep, I brought Skylar to one of the empty rooms in the third floor. For now this will be her own room until she decide to move to mine in the Alpha floor witch is in the fifth floor while the fourth one is for the beta family and some elders that want to stay in the pack house.

After wishing her good night I remembered I needed to go upstairs to see Cody and read him a story for him to feel asleep, this has been our routine since Angela's death.

I wanted so much to hug her and kiss her but I had to stop myself, I wanted her to start to trust me and accept me taking her time.

Going upstairs I heard someone talking to me. "So she is your mate" Trevor stated more than asked. "That she is"

"I am happy for you man, she is really a nice girl and she deserve happiness after what she have been through" I could sense some anger coming of him, I think he didn't like the way her old pack treated her even more now that she is his future Luna.

"I totally agree. I'd love to eliminate them all for what they did to her but for now I need to stay with her, she needs me more even if she still didn't realise that we are mate"

"I am sure she will came around sooner or later"

"I hope sooner. Oh yeah could you ask Juliet to accompany Skylar for shopping tomorrow?"

"Yeah sure bro. Good night"

"Night"

Once upstairs I went to Cody's room to find him in his bed with a book on his laps. After reading the story for him, he fell asleep, I stood up covered him with his blanket kissed his forehead and went to my room. After undressing and staying only in my boxers I went to bed and fell asleep with my last thought being my beautiful mate's face.
