The climax of the battle was coming fast. The students were betting on either Lucia or Drake, as Glenn had suggested doing so. The quantity of juimes was higher than he expected, and he had already bet on his own student, much to Daniel’s horror and Martin’s amusement. Martin may not be the teacher of Lucia, but he knew raw talent when he saw it. The proximity between her and Drake was surprisingly close yet so far. Lucia was an outcast and Drake wanted to be left alone but wanted to be in each other’s position. Lucia wanted to be surrounded by people her age and Drake was happy being left alone and here they were fighting. ‘It’s something deeper than it should be.’ He wasn’t trying to conceal his concern, but he was worried about the students about the outcome of the match. Sure, it was nice for his student to learn fast, but that didn’t mean he should up fast as well. For as long as Martin knew Drake, he was always calm and mature, yet he was still a growing child, a seven-year-old at the time, who didn’t seem to be intrigued by anything but the sword, and his adopted mother was interested in a fight against his best friend, not like he was ever going to admit it. ‘I wonder if they see each other as rivals.’ “They have been like this since we met.” Martin was startled by Daniel, who seemed to have been reading his mind, but dismissed the thought and continued to watch Lucia being the tactful and Drake using the weapon of surprise. [YOU HAVE ACHIEVED A NEW SKILL] [MARKSMANSHIP LVL 1] Drake clicked the screen showing the information about the shotgun while refilling the bullets into the gun after buying it. [INVENTORY] [NAME: SHOTGUN RANK: A EFFECT: ALLOWS USER TO HURT OPPONENT FROM A LONG OR MID-RANGE DISTANCE AND PREVENTS THE USER FROM USING LIUME, FRIST OR RISME IN A FIGHT. INCREASED BY 5%] “My weapon rank has moved up a rank.” “Stop looking at the weapon and face me.” “You always look at your bow and arrow in such a loving way.” Lucia was flustered by Drake’s comment and decided to direct the statement back to him. “Don’t even talk, you received a sword from Aunt Christa and always polished it even though you have never used it.” “At least I cherished her, unlike what you did to Grandaunt Chloe.” “I do that every day.” “You are being picky on someone who doesn’t have a mother.” “Master Glenn, I don’t like where this is going.” Daniel had heard their shouts and noticed the agitated looks. They both knew how to hit all their nerves, something he could never do, and his mother had the skill to do such, but he didn’t receive much to his father’s pleasure. “I need to stop them.” “No.” Glenn refused his idea with one word and didn’t even look in his direction after saying it, he was torn between helping his friends or following his teacher’s words. “But they can kill themselves.” “Then so be it.” The silence was unnerving between the two as they watched Drake and Lucia fight each other verbally and tearing the bonds they had for the past five years. “I, for one, have a father and two elder brothers.” “Yeah, you don’t speak to your father, since he despises the fact you look like your mother.” “At least my brother didn’t try to betray me with my grandma and left me to die on the floor.” The confusion on Drake’s face was more than enough to bring recognition and shame to Lucia, as she realized he didn’t know about his past. Glenn had a disgusted look. “He didn’t know, and she told him.” On the balcony with the red-eyed woman and Victor stared at the two of the students as she watched with half amusement and, the remaining emotion, which was obviously shock on her face, as she heard the words of her boss, refusing to allow the young prince to intervene in the fight. “Mary, it’s best if they fight now rather than in the future.” “I am not so sure about that.” Victor was astonished by the woman’s action, as she leaped from the balcony and landed on the ground flawlessly next to Glenn, who didn’t even bother to give her a glance, showing how serious the matter was. “So, you won’t stop them?” Her words sounded more of a question than a demand. Glenn didn’t even acknowledge her presence, much less stammer at her while his sight was on Drake, who needed to keep calm over the shocking revelation. ‘Daniel, you know what to do right.’ ‘Affirmative.’ ‘I needed to keep my reputation in check.’ Glenn heard Daniel scoff at him but chose to ignore it and did in fact ignore Mary and Martin’s stare in the process. “Drake, I need you to listen to me.”, Lucia begged him to listen to her, but to no avail, he didn’t care for her well-being and decided to end the match once and for all. “Target locked and shall be exterminated.” He focused the gun in his right hand and pulled the trigger and the bullet had been aimed but was enhanced by frist. The bullet had passed through and Lucia acted quickly and tried to use a simple air liume to evade the bullet, but the incoming projectile was destined to aim for Lucia, as it penetrated her skull. There was a deafening sound as Lucia fell down to the floor as the hole in her head allowed blood to flow profusely and shocking the audience, while closing her eyes and watching people carrying her back to the infirmary. “Drake, I need you to listen.” Daniel placed his hands on Daniel’s shoulders and his hands were slapped away from the latter, who glared at the former. “That sounds exactly what Lucia said before I shot her in the head.”, he wasn’t in his right mind, and he knew that if he was, he would have heard Jade’s taunting voice, and he was falling fast, and he couldn’t catch himself, but he noticed his master had muttered words in front of him, but he allowed the darkness to welcome him like it always does.
