Amelia Foxen

What are inlathons? Even the cave had warnings of them. The only person who could answer such questions was the little girl, who seemed to be glaring into their souls for a very long time. “Please explain why you’re here.” The girl was getting irritated by the moment, by the two partners in crime, not receiving answers from them, as their thoughts were drifting them from their current situation. “Why did you ignore the warning?!” She had started to growl, which brought the two boys back to reality, as they sensed her annoyance. “What warning are you talking about?” It took every last nerve in his body to not slap Christopher, for his stupid question. ‘Sister was right, it's always the blondes that normally say stupid things,’ She already had a fixed mindset towards Christopher. “She is talking about the writing on the wall, that clearly said beware of the Inlathon, you don’t listen to instructions at all.” “Sorry, my curiosity got the better of me.” “That curiosity of yours almost got us killed. I am grateful, I only broke my arm, because of your childishness‼” Ronald shouted at Christopher, as he moved but regretted his decision, as he was in more pain. Christopher felt guilty, but he had other things to worry about, like the mysterious child, who seemed to be around the age of 5, her words were rude and brash, and she was blunt, never filtering her words or thoughts. “So, I was right about you being dumb.” She pointed to Christopher’s direction, startled about someone openly thinking he was dumb. “I am not dumb.” “You clearly are,” Ronald had declared from his spot. Christopher ignored his words, his head was aching, and it wasn’t the good type of headache. This headache stopped as fast as it had started, but his entire body was starting to ache, and it was tearing him apart. ‘Why did it have to happen now?’ Ronald was holding on to his sanity, but he was slowly slipping, it was getting harder to control, until he admitted defeat to his animal instinct. Christopher felt a terrorizing stare from his back, he turned back, glancing towards Ronald, who was surrounded by a dark aura, as horns emerged from his head, his hair turned from dark blue hair to pitch black and his eyes were a darker green, a long thick black tail appeared at his back, wings sprouted from his back and his hand had regenerated, he let out an inhuman scream, as his eyes were set on the girl. Christopher tried to block his path, but ended up being scratched by his friend’s sharpened nails too, it wasn’t good at all, he was a second too late, after he responded to his attack, he held his shoulder in pain, ready to see the girl being mauled by his best friend. But he was surprised by the way she avoided Ronald. Every punch sent her way. He was neutralized with her legs, increasing her mobility and flexibility with liume, to tire her opponent, she wasted not even a second to dispose of him, as she jumped around ten feet in the air, maneuvering around the steady corners on the cave, and headed for his direction, swinging his claws to her head, for an instant kill, but she managed to change her position in midair, avoiding his claws and back flipping to the ground, grabbing her ax and aiming it for Ronald’s head, Christopher stared in horror, as it headed for Ronald’s head, but sighed in relief as the back of the ax hit Ronald, knocking him out. Ronald was reacting to his pain, even as he was knocked out, luckily his horns, tail and wings slowly disappeared, and his claws turned back into normal hands and average finger nail length, his hair and eyes were back to their original color. Christopher had approached Ronald, but not before, healing his arm with water liume. “Water liume: Instant recovery.” His hands were shining in light blue, as he was casting the spell on his injured arm, the blood had stopped flowing and his wound had instantly healed, his hands were in a perfect state, as they previously were, slowing walking up to his friend’s body and noticed the ax, from a close view, it was heavy, covered in dry blood but yet convenient for her size. “Thank Urani, you are okay,” He stated with worry written on his face, as he checked Ronald’s physical appearance. “So you can heal yourself with liume, you aren’t as stupid as I thought you were, so there is something in that brain of yours.” “Thank you for the compliment.” He was drowning in praise. “But if you can heal yourself properly, why didn’t you use it on your little friend over there, who was certainly a demon?” “Well, you see-“ She caught him off, “You didn’t even think once about healing your friend, but yourself in such a dire situation, imagine if he couldn’t stand you.” “He would never hurt me.” “You can hurt him, but he can’t hurt you.” “It’s because of the promise we made as kids.” “The umend race has been complimented for being different from other races, but you certainly put the icing on the cake with your irresponsible decisions.” “You aren’t even giving me a chance to explain myself.” “I am not giving you a chance, because I am sure you have nothing good or reasonable to describe yourself with.” Christopher had clearly suffered from her harsh but fair points, the dark blue night sky, the short-haired girl had already known she had won. There was no opening for him to attack her verbally. “I admit, I was selfish.” “You clearly are, after all the years I have spent being your friend and undercover bodyguard.” Christopher was shocked to see his friend, who was recovering from the headache the girl had caused him with her weapon. “Ron, you are okay.” “Did you expect me to be dead?” “Did you want him dead?” They had asked him sudden questions, which caused him to stumble on the ground, covering his face from his embarrassment, his clothes were covered in dust and tattered as well, a horrid state for a Royal, and he was a king, which was more disappointing. Chris turned towards Ronald and the girl, who were quite pleased with each other. “What is your name?” “My name is Ronald, but the fool over there calls me, Ron for short, What is yours?” pointing to Christopher, who had a shocked expression. “You want to know my name?” “Yes, I can’t be calling you the ax girl, can I?” “I like the name, it might suit you better than your actual name,” Christopher said rather boldly, but was shut down by Ronald’s glare. “Ignore him, he is just spilling more nonsense than he should on a daily basis. Okay, tell me your real name.” “Amelia Foxen, my name is Amelia Foxen, nice to meet you Ron and i***t Chris.” Amelia gave a hearty grin, which was surprising for both Ronald and Christopher, who returned the gesture. “Wait, she called me an idiot.” “Get used to it, i***t Chris.” “Not you too, Ron.”
