IWC

Amelia, Chris, and Ron were exploring the caves and being warned by Amelia of incoming dangers and what exactly to avoid from repeating the same mistake, as they did in the beginning. “Amelia, what exactly are inlathons?” Ron asked in curiosity, as the words were still fresh in his mind. Chris was also unusually quiet, because of the amount of hours spent underground. He was thinking about the warning as well, but didn’t want to question anything at all. He was still feeling bad about hesitating to heal his friend. ‘Maybe, I should apologize to him.’ He thought to himself sadly, he was wrong and wasn’t going to back down without a fight. “Ron, I have been thinking about something and wanted to explain what I was thinking,” He had stood firm and had direct eye contact with Ron, who was showing concern for his friend. Even Amelia was getting a bit of sympathy for the blonde-haired man. Ronald had turned around and held his shoulders firmly and looked at him straight in the eye and asked him “Chris, are you okay?” Those were the first words he said to Chris, after three hours of not talking to him for punishment. “Ron, I am perfectly fine.” He felt happy about his friend, for forgiving him for his cowardly act, “You don’t use your brain to think, are you okay?” Chris had a deadpanned look, as he heard Ron’s words. “What do you mean, I don’t think?!” “Chris, I am not saying this as your best friend, but as a normal functioning human being, the truth is that, you have never thought or imagined something smart, as far as I or common sense have seen, you don’t possess such a skill.” “Oh really, who was the one who convinced the ax girl to escort us through the secret tunnels, linking all four kingdoms of Umend?” “It certainly wasn’t you.” “I suggested the idea, i***t Chris,” Amelia spoke up and received a thumbs up from Ron and a scoff from Chris. “Will you stop calling me an i***t?” “Fine, only if you stop calling me, ax girl.” “Not a chance, it is the first impression, I have of you, and I am sticking with it.” “That is your answer: if you won’t stop, then I won’t either.” Ron was irked and amused by their conversation at the same time, but he was getting tired of them fighting, noticing the smug face on Chris’s face, was more than enough information to know. He was about to unintentionally insult himself again, so Ron covered his mouth and pulled him by the ear and whispered, “Don’t try to fight a battle, you have already lost.” Chris groaned in annoyance and defeat, but had too much pride to admit he was wrong. On the other hand, Amelia sprinted to a cave which had a built-in door. It was strange seeing a built-in door underground, but that wasn’t the strangest thing they had seen all day. They were literally being escorted by a kid, who was able to take down those lamonsters in a minute, and they couldn’t kill them, even if they tried and they tried their very best. Amelia opened the door, but not turning on the light, showing it was like a basement filled with weapons and a fireplace with burnt wood, now turned to ashes, that needed to be changed with new wood. The boys waited for her permission to allow them inside of her home. At least, they thought it was. “Come on in,” She grunted towards the two boys who were taking each second, to explore the house with their eyes, as they walked in and removed their shoes along with her. “Alright guys, it’s time to go upstairs now.” Ron and Chris both had puzzled expressions, from her words, noticing her walking through a corner next to the fireplace, she flipped the light switch and a staircase appeared in the place of the fireplace, surprising the boys. They were both suspicious of following her up the stairs, but their curiosity made them ignore such thoughts at the moment, walk up the stairs while looking at the walls to avoid looking at Amelia, who was fiddling with her keys and looking for a specific key. They reached the end. As Amelia opened the door, the first thing which caught their eyes were the amounts of books in the chamber. Different species were gathering and arranging the books in the room. These were species never seen by any of the 7 main races of Glath. They were so different, there was a horned looking creature with spikes and horns around its body, but had hands to remove a book from the shelves, as their eyes explored the gigantic room and the many wonders of new species and races, unknown to them. They still had to follow Amelia and focus on their main objective, to know what connection the lamonsters have with the so-called inlathons. “Welcome to the inter worlds collaboration, also known as IWC,” A lady had welcomed the two young men, who were overwhelmed by the whole situation, noticing their expressions. The lady smiled warmly at her and said “I am sure that the two of you are overwhelmed by the whole situation, but in time, you will understand why you are here, but first let us introduce ourselves to each other. My name is Gabriella Austin.” “My name is Ronald Timberline.” “My name is Christopher Furlorn.” “Oh, I know,” She replied, pointing over to Ronald’s direction, “Ronald Timberline, age 20, year of birth, G027, the first king of Hellever, the kingdom of Foumets, the demon race, the advisor and best friend to Christopher Furlorn.” Gabriella turned her aquamarine eyes towards Christopher’s direction, “Christopher Furlorn, age 22, year of birth, G025, the first king of Glath, the first kingdom of Umends, the human race, the best friend of Ronald Timberline.” Their faces were blank, but their minds were not, it was taking time for the two to process all the information, while Gabriella laughed at their reactions. It reminded her of her first time coming here, and now she works here, how the universe works in different ways used to amuse her. “I suspect the reason why Amelia brought you two here, was to answer your questions about the inlathons, even after reading the warning, boldly written on the wall for everyone that notices it, to be extra careful,” The last words she spoke were venomous, as Ronald and Christopher shuddered from her words, but knowing scolding them, wasn’t going to work, she calmed herself, and summoned a book and the three of them warped into it, leaving Amelia, who went back to work.
