Students were all in equal lines, no one stepping out of order, the junior female students started the first line of each set and the junior boys ended it, while the senior boys started the lines for their years and the senior girls ended it.
The junior female students wore short-sleeved white shirts with a blue ribbon around the neck, black skirts reaching up to their knees and their black socks reaching their thighs, their hair was packed into either a ponytail or a braid with their second ribbon and their shoes were either brown or black with laces.
The junior male students also wore short-sleeved white shirts and short black trousers reaching their knees and their socks reaching their ankles, which were covered by black boots.
However, the senior students' outfits were a bit different from their juniors', as the females didn’t need to wear blue ribbons, unlike the junior students, rather they wore blue best and a blue tie with a long sleeved shirt. And the boys also wore long sleeved shirts with a blue best and a tie. Their trousers covered most of their legs, while the remaining were covered by their socks and their shoes.
The hall was covered in blue clothing, as it was a tradition for the Cirano Royal Academy, to welcome new students and staff with the first color. The school was painted after it was founded by the first frister, Olivia Stane, and to honor her memories, Jalivia flowers surrounded the school premises and the garden as well.
The principal walked into the hall, and strolled up the silver-coated stairs to the stage, clearing his throat to bring all the attention to him, but failed miserably at that. He signaled his assistant, and she clapped her hands, bringing silence to the room.
“Good morning, students.”
“Good morning, Principal Stane.”
The crowd answered in chorus, as he stood up on the stage with his lovely yet picky assistant by his side, as she was completely engrossed in Drake’s condition, who was being checked on by the staff, as he was taken to the nurse's office, as his two friends watched him leave and bring their attention back to the principal, but doubt was still lingering in their minds about their dear friend.
"Today is the first day of the new school session, and we can clearly see some fresh new faces, who have just clearly joined us.
I also want to introduce our new head prefects for this session and to welcome our new fencing club, as most parents weren't thrilled about their children attending archery or sword classes.
I hope that we will all enjoy this year together and just don't be stuck up, like the previous set of students who have either graduated or exiled from the kingdom. Do you all understand?"
The students responded with a nod, as the principal had casually threatened them and they could do nothing about it.
Miss Davele walked up front of the stage and let herself be calm, before preparing to start her very own speech, especially for the fifth and tenth year students.
"Good morning, my name is Marsha Davele, the vice principal of the Cirano Royal Academy and the caretaker of the fifth and tenth year students. The current state of our school may not be the best, as it has been over a hundred years ago, but we promise to provide you with the best education to gift you, not only knowledge and skills to help you survive the real world.
Everyone is from a different status and clan. We even have hybrids and others who don't have family, or they have been abandoned by the ones they loved. This is a place where everyone can be treated fairly.
But that doesn't give you the right to kill or be a self-proclaimed hero, all we need is your support and this year will go smoothly, and we can enjoy the year together, and thank you for your time." She humbly bowed and walked the stairs, as the students clapped in awe and respect, unlike their principal who scoffed at her sweet words at the end of her speech.
'Not less expected from a woman who always sugarcoated her words at the end of every sentence,' His dark thoughts were easily hidden by his face and manner of composing himself.
"I should check up on the chosen one, at least what Clover had called him, before adopting him as his nephew. How wonderful," His voice was dripping with sarcasm, and he went to the nurse's room to check up on the sacrifice, a better name for him, he thought to himself.
"Mr Timberline, your medication has finished."
"Can you please stop calling me that?"
"But the queen told me to call you that, as you are officially her adopted son and that means you have to bare her new surname."
He sighed in defeat and drifted to sleep, as the drugs were slowly taking an effect on him.
The nurse damped his forehead with a hot towel, and noticed a figure around the door.
"Victor Stane, would you stop lurking around the door? It's very annoying and uncalled for."
Victor scratched his hair nervously, while he talked to her, "I am very sorry, elder sister Victoria."
"Stop lying through your teeth, you're just upset about me being the new nurse, after you fired the last one for poisoning you."
She always had to nag him about his mistakes. He understood she was worried, but he was also worried about her, but he didn't poke around getting her personal matters, unless she seemed to get help from him, but she was too stubborn to ask help from him and rather do everything on her own. They truly were siblings, even if their mothers were two very different people and from different species.
"So can you please explain to me why he fainted?"
"Tori, I don't even know that as well, I was previously informed by my assistant."
"Your suspicious assistant, who had her eyes on the young boy, lying in my office."
"He can't even be called a boy, as he is older from his previous life on earth and here making him in his mid-thirties."
"Yeah, mentally."
"I can't just win an argument between both of us."
"Nope," She said with a mocking smirk on her face.
"I should head back to my office and foresee the new staff and hope they do their jobs right." He walked out of the room and stopped before yelling, "Good luck for the rest of the day."
Victoria chuckled, while returning to her seat, unknown to both siblings, the boy was listening to their entire conversation.
