Elijah's Point of View When I woke up this morning, nothing could go wrong because at midnight tonight, I would turn sixteen, get my wolf, and potentially find my mate. Since it's Friday, my parents agreed to let me have a party, and I am praying that I find my mate because some go years without seeing their mate, and I don't think I can go that long. As I walked into the school building, I heard everyone talking about the upcoming party, and I loved it. Walking down the hall to science class with my soon-to-be beta Ben, I smelled the worst god-awful Stench ever. Human. I wouldn't say I liked her smell, and then I saw her and smiled. As I walked up behind her, I linked my soon-to-be beta. 'Watch.' "Move it, human," I said as I pushed her out of the way and into a locker. I watched as her head bounce off the locker, and she fell to the ground. As she looked up at me with her gold and silver eyes, I could see blood dripping from her nose, and I smiled. "Just a weak human. Can't even heal herself properly," I said out loud, causing those around me to start laughing. She didn't say anything, and I watched as she got up, holding her nose, and sped walked to the bathroom as blood dripped onto the floor. "You know if your dad finds out you did that, he will have your a**," Ben said as we began to walk to class. "Whatever. When I turn Alpha, she is gone. She can't even protect us, and since she is the weakest member, then she is out." Ben shook his head but didn't say anything. The day seemed to be dragging out, but I couldn't wait to get home when it ended. The party started in two hours, and I wanted to shower, eat and get ready. When I got home, my dad was waiting by the door with a not-so-happy look on his face. "What's wrong?" "You tell me," He said with an angry tone. "What did I do now?" "I heard you slammed Maya into a locker and busted her nose." "And who said that?" "Doesn't matter but starting tomorrow, you are grounded. You are supposed to be an alpha, and if you harm your pack members, others will do the same. Even if it was an accident, you should have helped her. I am disappointed in you," He said and then walked away. I didn't really care because once I became Alpha, the human was gone. After getting ready for the party, I made my way downstairs and out the back door. The guest were starting to arrive, and I couldn't help but look at all the females. Would one of them be my mate? My mom walked over to me, hugged and kissed me. "Happy birthday." I looked around at my mom's work and smiled. She outdoor herself. She had the pool set up with chairs, tables, lights hanging up, and food on the grill. When it came time for me to shift at midnight, the pack would go for a run, and then those who wished to stay could join us for the bomb fire. The night was going great till I smelled her, the human. She walked in with her parents, and all I could think about was making her pay. I told her not to come, but here she was. I walked away, trying to get her filthy smell from out of my lungs. I watched as the human and her parents walked over to mine and started talking. 'Come here,' my dad demanded through the mind link. I put down the soda I was drinking and looked over to my dad. The whole way towards them, I wanted to run for the hills. She smelled horrible. "Hey," I said as I walked up. "Elijah, I want you to apologize to Maya for what happened earlier." "Alpha, there is no need. Accidents happen. The halls were crowded, and from time to time, people get shoved and pushed in the halls. I'm sure it won't be the last time. I just hope I don't break something again," she may say as she looked at my father with a smile. For a human, she could twist the truth nicely, but I was still mad that I'm grounded because of her. "He owes you an apology for not stepping up and helping. As next in line, he needs to stop being so arrogant and start thinking about the pack," my father said. I looked at the human and said, "I am sorry I didn't help you after you fell." "Thank you, young alpha," she said as she looked away from me. I knew that eye movement wouldn't go unnoticed by my dad. "Elijah, take Maya and help her get some food while I talk to her dad." "Sure thing, dad. Come on. Mom outdid herself this year. We have chicken, Ribs, Steak, salad, and so much more," I said as I walked away from my dad. I looked back at my dad, and he had a smile on his face, but the moment we were out of earshot, I said, "You b***h. You will pay for embarrassing me like that." "I know," She whispered. I left her at the food table and went and found my beta Ben and gamma Jeremy. Brody's Point of View When the kids were at the food table, the Alpha and I walked into the house and straight to his office. His beta and gamma were sitting at the desk, and I went and sat at the extra chair they pulled up while the Alpha sat down. "Report," The Alpha said. "The activity I have been telling you about in the woods is picking up. It appears the witches and warlocks are looking for something." "Neighboring packs have reached out because the witches have approached them to look on their land," Beta Charles said. "Did they say what they are looking for?" The Alpha asked. "They are looking for a witch, but no one has a witch on their lands," Beta Charles said. "If they ask to come onto our lands, the answer is no. We need to train harder in case we need to fight." "Yes, alpha," I said as I stood up and left the room. Tomorrow I would announce a new training schedule. Something big was about to happen. I could feel it.
