Alpha Grey's Point of View
"Come in," I said as someone knocked on my office door.
I watched as the door opened and Maya walked in with Brody behind her.
As they sat down, I took a big breath, but Maya smelled the same, human with a hint of sage and lavender.
'She is not the witch they are looking for,' my wolf said.
'I know, but perhaps she is masking her scent.'
'A new witch wouldn't know how to do that. We both know she is not a witch,' My wolf said, and I wanted to roll my eyes.
"You wanted to talk to me, Alpha?" Maya said.
I smiled at her, "I was wondering what you were doing during that freakish storm."
"I went outside to get some air."
"Why?" I asked.
Maya looked down, and I could see tears in her eyes. "What happened today, Maya?" Brody asked with concern in his voice.
"Elijah announced that he is taking Beth as his chosen mate. I went to get air because it hurt hearing him say that. I am his mate."
"How do you know you are his mate?" I asked. I couldn't believe my son is such an i***t.
"The Monday after his birthday, I was at my locker when he approached me. He asked me to follow him, and I thought he would hurt me again, but he hugged me when we walked into an empty class. His wolf wants me, but Elijah doesn't."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My son has been harming this poor child, and I had no clue. Brody looked like he was ready to kill someone, but he was trying to reign his wolf in.
"I am sorry, Maya, for my son's actions. He will be dealt with. He will no longer hurt you."
"Thank you, Alpha."
"Before you go. Did you see anyone walk in or out of the woods?"
"No, Alpha, I did not."
"Thank you both for coming in. I will be dealing with Elijah when he comes home."
"Thank you, Alpha," Brody says as he stood up. I watched as Maya and Brody left my office.
'I need you,' I mind linked my mate.
'On my way,' My beautiful mate Kelly said.
Kelly walked into my office several minutes later and closed the door behind her. I heard her lock it, and then she came and sat on my lap.
"What happened, love?"
"It has to my attention our son is an idiot."
"Well, I could have told you that. Most teen wolves are idiots."
"He found his mate two days after the party, and instead of saying anything, he pushed her away. He has decided to take Beth as his chosen."
My mate paled. "Who is his mate?"
"Maya."
I watched my mate close her eyes. "It is his choice. She is a human and might see her as being weak."
I couldn't believe my mate was saying that. "I'm sorry, what?"
"You heard me," She said as she got off my lap and crossed her hands over her shoulders.
"The moon goddess blessed him with Maya for a reason. That means she is not weak or incapable of being a Luna."
"Sometimes, the moon goddess gets it wrong."
"Get out of my office now," I said as I stood up. I could not believe my mate right now.
Kelly didn't say anything as she left the room. When she walked out the door and shut the door behind her, I sat down.
Maya's Point of View
After my dad found out about Elijah's treatment towards me, he was angry. We drove home in silence, and when we got home, he told me he needed to go for a run. I watched as he got out of the truck, changed into his large brown wolf, and take off towards the woods.
I walked into the house and went straight to my room. My mom wouldn't be home till later tonight, and knowing my dad, he wouldn't come home till he ran off his feelings which could be hours.
As I opened the door to my room, I screamed and moved back away from the door. There on my bed was a woman sitting on my bed.
The woman was thin and had long black hair with hot pink tips. She looked up at me, and her eyes were sparkling blue. "Hello, Maya. I have been waiting a long time to talk to you."
"My dad will be home any second. He heard me scream."
The woman began to laugh. "He didn't hear you. I knew you would scream, so I made sure no sounds left this house for now," The woman said. My already racing heart began to beat faster, and the fear coursing through my body started to rise.
"My name is Riley, and I came to help you."
"Help me how?"
"Today, you ascended into your powers. Your father now knows where you are, and he will be coming for you."
"My father? My real father?" Apart of me was excited because I always wanted to know who I was and where I came from."
"Don't get too excited, honey. Your father is not the nicest man out there."
"What do you mean?"
"Come sit on your bed. I want to show you something."
I was scared, but I was also curious. Where did I come from, and why did they abandon me? I walked over to the bed and sat down next to Riley.
"I am going to place my hands on you and show you your mother's memories leading up to your birth and how you came to this pack. I have been watching you since you were a baby, but now that you have ascended, time is limited."
"Okay," I said as I smiled at her. I prayed that I wasn't making a mistake by blindly trusting this woman. I only wanted to know the truth about myself.
Riley placed her hands on my head, and I was no longer in my room. I was in a room I had never seen before, watching a woman that looked like me, but instead of gold and silver eyes, hers were dark brown.
"Push, Kate," A woman said as she was looking between the woman's legs.
I watched as the woman pushed and pushed with small screams escaping from her. I watched as the baby came out and then began to cry. As the child started crying, another woman walked up and took the baby from the nurse between the woman's legs.
"What did I have?" The mother asked.
"A girl, he will be pleased."
"Can I hold her?"
"I am sorry, Kate, but he asked for the child the moment she was born." The woman holding the newborn said.
I watched as the woman walked out of the room with the baby, and the mother begins to cry for her child.
"This is the moment you were born, Maya," Riley said as she touched my shoulder.
"She never saw me?"
"Follow the nurse holding you."
I followed the nurse down a long hallway and into another room. As she walked in, I followed behind her and stepped back at what I saw.
