Chapter 5 - Present
Sensitive.
That was another good word that anyone could use to describe Maria very well since she was a child.
The young lady of Latin origin always had these strange feelings that gave her chills when good or bad things were about to happen, making her parents and neighbors believe that it was a gift from God to her when she was younger.
However, she didn't have the same opinion as they about that, and for years, she just wanted that this so-called power to disappear, that these strange feelings and visions that she sometimes had to go away from her life.
... After all, no one would like to see ghosts, would they? Especially those of violent deaths like the ones of car accidents that she faced on the road while traveling with her former boyfriend...
Perhaps that was normal for some supernatural beings like Witches, but Maria wasn't one of them and not even a descendant of the powerful kind, so she wasn't anything pleased with such a gift that she had.
And for a long time, or better saying in the past fifty years, she believed that it was the only good thing about become a Vampire.
Ghosts that haunted her were no longer a problem now as everything had disappeared from her life when she became a creature of the Night.
... The old burden she carried then being replaced by another one...
Of course, she never imagined that both things could live in peace inside her, scaring her even more, when the strange nightmares with her ex started, forcing Ria to look for her best friend for comfort.
... Even though she told herself that she just didn't want to be alone at that moment...
Staying together with Jordan reassured her a little, but with each passing day, she started to fear more and more what might happen, reminding her of a day that had happened just a few months ago...
Walking quietly through the airport, like a child, she just thought of ways to convince the Hybrid to share with her the sweet apple pies that his mother had made for the Pack's members.
And even if Lorry had given her one too, it just wasn't enough for Ria, who loved sweets, especially when the desserts were made by Jordan's mother, which she believed to be the best ones she had eaten in her whole life.
So with a smile on her face, she waited for her flight to be announced until something unexpected made her drop all the goodies on the floor before running to the nearest bathroom she could find there.
... Her breathing was labored when she looked in the mirror, remembering what had just happened while tears streamed down her face...
His voice was still a strong memory in her mind, even if she didn't enjoy that, it was there just like some catching song, and his appearance... He yet looked to same too.
With his brown hair combed back in a casual way, he had a smirk on his lips when he called for someone else while holding his bag over the shoulder a few feet away from her...
And like her, Silvio still has his youthful appearance... The same one from the day he stole her life and became her nightmare.
