The Pups

Chapter 6 - Present - ??? A smile appeared on Maria's face unconsciously as she watched Jordan with the pups, her worries disappearing from her mind in every moment she spent with him and his family. Nothing worrying her any longer as the weird feelings went away, leaving her calm as the sky after a storm, even when Nicholas joined them. The oldest pup of Coleman's Alpha could have a strange relationship with her. Still, she couldn't deny that she sometimes loved to disturb him on purpose, just to see his reactions that made her laugh internally, curious to know what kind of adult he would be in the future. ... If he would be responsible like his father or keep his spontaneous self without change... But back to what they were doing, she saw her friend showing the sea to the little ones from the top of the building while waiting for his Mate. The Werewolf talked to the other Alpha a few feet above them in the space that served as a resting space and an observatory over the pool area. Ria had no idea what the conversation might be about; however, she couldn't help but notice when both men looked in their direction, clearly observing Jordan, who was too busy with the pups to notice it at first. And as much as she didn't like wolves, she would never be able to hate William... It was clear as the sunlight in his eyes, the love he felt for the Hybrid, being difficult even for her to deny that those feelings were not real. Therefore, she didn't dislike him, nor did she feel jealous about their relationship; she just felt happy to learn that her friend was with a person who really appreciated him.  She also knew that Jordan was much stronger now, no allowing anymore that someone disturbed his life. "H... Hey!" Catching her attention, the little boy with the light eyes was pulling on her coat, and his face became flushed when she turned to him. "T-the Kind man is calling for you." Pointing to her friend, the pup spoke before sitting back next to his new younger brother. Shaking her head at the thought of how the little one was so strange with her sometimes, she soon started talking to the Hybrid man again in a short conversation before her eyes once more noticed the lovely picture that the family became before her. It was kind, sweet, just like the one that she wanted to have in the past... And having such thoughts, she couldn't deny that it was just what her youngest self dreamed of... She wanted to have one family that would prove to her parents how wrong they were about Silvio and how he could be a wonderful father and husband. ... But of course, not everything was the fairy tale as she imagined... Watching Jordan with his Mate, she was more than certain that she didn't know anything about love back then. She was just a stubborn teenager, and even today, she couldn't understand that feeling that she saw in the stare of lovely couples that she met in the last few years... Wiping away the tear that was beginning to fall down her face, her eyes met Nicholas's light ones again when that strange sensation returned to her chest, causing her to tell her friend that she would return to her room, fleeing away from any other thought that would remind her about the past with her ex again. ... She didn't want to think about him anymore. She just wanted the world to start over if it could, so her old mistakes wouldn't haunt her anymore and that she could have that youthful innocence back in her life like those pups. * * * From afar, like a lost rose in the desert, I saw her in between everyone, her aroma tantalizing me as I could remember yet from my adolescence. Her chocolate-brown eyes were exactly the color I picture in my mind... But this time, no tears were in there, disturbing their beautiful shade. ... Running after her through the hallways, her scent was my only guide to find her when I could no longer see her...  Yes, sadly... Once more, I lost her.
