Chapter 3 - ??? - Maria
The sound played loudly everywhere. People danced happily with glasses of drinks in their hands, moving their bodies to the beat of the music along with their friends, boyfriends, and even strangers.
... And the woman with long dark hair was no exception.
Her head and hips moved as much as everyone else when she felt a hand touch her waist before her brown eyes met the young man's behind her.
A subtle smile appeared on their faces before she accepted his wordless request to dance with him, enjoying the rest of the music that was yet playing loudly, preventing any talk from happening between them, but they didn't care about it.
And as if she wasn't repeating the actions from the week before, she continued enjoying the moment, relaxed without noticing that not very far from them, another pair of eyes were watching her, or better saying, them.
... The light eyes owner was young, much younger than she, and the man who held her tightly as if she belonged to him... Which made him even angrier when he realized it was really her there...
Of course, her appearance was the same as he remembered from when he was younger.
However, he had already mistake someone else for her before amid the strong desire to see her again, especially after she moved away to avoid him.
So despite everything telling him that the woman a few meters from him was her, he only believed in himself when he felt the pleasant aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin touching his nose.
It was the perfect blend that reminded him of the latte he drank in the autumns of his childhood.
Nevertheless, that sweet memory didn't last long when he saw the man's hands caressing her even more, slowly lifting her blouse, making him lost his patience.
Running towards them while his wolf, his instincts seemed to scream in his mind to kill that Human who dared to touch his Mate.

"Will you really keep it?" Playing with the straw of pumpkin spice latte, I asked Jordan as he continued to watch the pups playing with his mother and the children of the other members of the shoal.
"He is not a thing or animal, Ria. He's a child, and he had a name, Ryuta." And annoyed like I already guessed he would be, he answered, turning in my direction. "And yes, Liam and I talked about it, even if it wasn't needed since he clearly wanted to adopt him as my mom suggested, but anyway, we talked, and we couldn't find any reason why we shouldn't do that."
Despite seeming to be a little angry with his Alpha, it was more than obvious that Jo was actually happy with their relationship and just wanted to share it with someone, in this case... Me, sadly.
"Well, sorry that for me, he's just another smelling pup." Laying down in my chair, I kept saying while tasting another of the brownies that his mother made with extra pieces of chocolate for that meeting of the sea kind, even if they all lived in the small town.
"... But why are you asking it? ... Are you hiding something from me?" As always, he could easily understand me better than anyone else.
"No, I'm not! I just thought you were going to refuse her, seeing that you already have two pups to take care of, and I thought a third one would be a little too much in that equation, especially when you guys are still on your honeymoon period." My answer was a lie for sure, but it was enough to make him uncomfortable and forget to ask me any more questions.
... I mean...
Jordan could be the only person I considered my best friend since I became a Vampire. However, it didn’t mean I could disturb him with the small problems of my life, particularly when it had been just a dream that left me with a bad feeling in my chest.
He was finally happy, living the best moments that he could have now after everything that happened to him in the last few years, and I didn't want to ruin it just due to a nightmare that could be nothing in the end.
So I preferred to keep it to myself before going back to do my other favorite activity besides nightclubs...
Make him feel completely awkward.
"W-w-w-what do you mean by honeymoon period?!" As if he were a pepper, his face was red until his neck, and I couldn't help noticing that his mother was also laughing from where she was with the pups. "We are pretty busy, do you know? Especially Liam with all the Alpha stuff and his work!"
Hearing him say that, I can't help thinking that maybe he would like to spend some time alone with his Mate since the words were coming out of his mouth as if he were some spoiled child while his brown eyes avoided me at all costs.
"Well... In that case, why don't you say that you want to spend more time with him?"
"What?! Ria, did you hear anything that I said?" Staring back at me, the expression in his eyes was quite confused, reminding me about the age difference between us.
"Yes, I did, but it just sounded like someone just wants to spend more time alone with their Alpha for me." Enjoying the pleasant scent of my latte, I interpreted his silence as an affirmation that I was right. "... As much as I don't like this plan, I will do it for you. So tell me, when will be his next free time before we return to the Pack, and I'll take care of the pups for you guys."
Yes, I would follow them back to that farm again, but as I said before, I really didn't want to be alone right now, and I was more than happy that Jo didn't say anything about it as he would have done in another moment...
"... Are you sure? ... Would you do that for us?" Yet shocked, he asked me, unable to hide the smile on his face.
"For you two? No. For you? Yes, and I think that's kind of part of the friendship package I signed when I met you," Making him laugh, I replied before eating what should be my fourth piece of brownie in less than fifteen minutes, still they were too good to resist. "Anyway, they're just babies, and I can't imagine what kind of trouble or job they can give me, so don't worry about anything, and go have a little fun with your man."
Full of confidence, I said as if I already had everything under control while I was more than sure that nothing wrong could happen with pups as I reminded him not to forget to let me know later the date of his Mate's day off.
But as Jordan's favorite phrase...
Oh, Heaven!
I had no idea how much work the children would give me, especially when their older brother joined us, and the night turned into a complete war of jealousy among the young ones.
And honestly, I must say that I have never been so grateful to see a Werewolf appear in front of me when their grandparents showed up to help on that night.
